My fill plug is seized... what's the best way to brake that 17MM bolt loose?? The head is pretty well rounded out...... so cant even use a extraction socket.............ouch......................
I dont think so. Hell now a days they generally say its better to not even change the tranny fluid sometimes. The fluid used now is a hydrolic fluid while engine oil is a lubricant. They changed it because apparently transmissions didn't last as long when using engine oil. Although it would have been way more convienent I would have loved to know generally the longevity difference between using both fluids. I know this is more information than asked but hope it helped.
You should, That’s what happened to me too but I never added some and I think I have a really small leak so now my third gear grinds. 2 quarts is kinda a little so I can imagine loosing a lil would matter. Im doing a flush and fill right now hopefully it stops grinding 🤞
Still relevant. 1990 crx... Thanks bro.
Thanks man, I needed to learn this
Did this today on my 1990 crx.. it was very clean not black like yours ! I use 10w30 motor oil 1.8 L
Thank you!
Good video. That is some dirty oil. Must have lot of miles on that oil. Mine has never looked like that. Looks like you refilled with regular 10W-30.
@IfYouDisagreeYouAreWrong My 91 Accord also specifies 10W30....but I use Honda MTF and the difference is noticible in the shift knob.
@@jamalasa9007 If I use regular oil do I use synthetic
Thanks g, need to change mine on my Civic sedan

Nice review.
would it be a good idea to try to flush it with a quart or so?

I'm trying to find that intake now! lol
Do you still have the CRX in 2022??
I lost a little oil when I switch my axle should add more ??

2 litre oil ? or more ?in transmission
Is the oil engine oil?
yes. I have a 1991 civic dx and the manual says it take 10w-30 Engine oil
But it’s better to use Honda mtf fluid
@nimus5491 if the owners manual says 10w30, Ima use 10w30.
Honda mtf seems like a gimmick
well, dont put a b16a in a crx, the subframe is blocking the fill hole, this should be interesting
That does not look like Honda Transmission fluid ...looks like engine oil should be reddish purple
This is a manual transmission, not automatic.
