    Congratulations Jakob! I am a big fan and patron of your channel. I would love to see a short series on TwinCat Analytics. Thanks for all you do. Your work has been influential in how I approach PLC programming. It has also inspired me to take what I learn and share it with my collegues. I'm sure you are excited for a break, but please keep going in your efforts to influence and improve the automation industry!

    Hallo Jakob, mostly i would love things about TTD.
    I think, most of the topics can be found, but to unit test is such an elementary skill, where i think, lot of people would benefit greatly from.

      Great suggestion. I've been receiving more content about TDD so this is absolutely something I have to talk more about. I want however to point out that I have two videos about TDD, that are part of my TwinCAT 3 course here on RUclips.

      Agreed! TDD is the way of the future for PLC programming and we all need a little help thinking the right way so this is a straightforward task.

    What i would like to see seems pretty basic, but i would like to have a short to medium course about structuring your project, from io naming to POU's , and what functions or functionblocks you should divide in smaller chunks, how to exchange data between pou's. i always write a project in a way that works, but when i get further in i always need to restructure, that takes a lot of time and i have yet to find a way how to start the right way.
    for the short time i have been programming and changing and adapting projects from other programmers (from my company and third party) everybody does it differently, i could also do it the way i want, but in the long run i think it would be best to use common practises to keep projects manageable for now and in the future.

      Seeing some real world example projects (That you can publically show, of course) would be nice here. I've got a project structure I'm happy with but I'm, always happy to learn and see how others do it

      Great idea! This would probably be a quite big course as there is lots of ground to cover. It is however something that probably EVERYONE is struggling with, and the biggest problem is that there are very few examples of how to do it, and no-one wants to share how they've done it. I'll take it into consideration and planning.

    • @xKrantzzy
      @xKrantzzy Год назад +2

      1+ on this from me! Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a best practice standard for this subject. Probably because big brands such as Siemens and Rockwell tend to be quite different even tho they should be following the same standard. But I still think you can generalize the subject enough to be applicable for most PLC programs. But it would probably be a big project to cover. Still, I hope Jakob can cover this, as I think it's one of the biggest concerns that we new developers have. And I can't think of a better candidate than Jakob 😊

    Congratulations Jakob! May your channel grow exponentially. I admire your effort for sharing your PLC knowledge and especially advancing TC3. In the future, TwinCAT is going to do to the automation industry what Android did to the smartphone industry. Old players like Nokia, Motorola, Blackberry are nowhere to be seen.

    I'd like to see videos on PLC with SCADA/HMI applications.

  • @mezzer34
    @mezzer34 Год назад +2

    Personally, I think that the motion stuff is similar enough to other PLC Open platforms that you can kinda figure it out as you go, as long as you already have some motion control experiance.
    The only bit that I really struggled with was Camming (Since Beckhoff expect you to create your own CAM structures and tables, and that took a while to work out) but overall it wasn't too bad.
    I think Beckhoff HMI related content would be great - Their HMI system is quite differnet to anything else I've used, but it's really powerful (Using UserControl content items, assigning structs to them, etc) and I'm sure there is plenty of features there I've not seen yet.

    • @JakobSagatowski

      Thanks DonutBatman for your feedback. The HMI is something that comes up from time to time. This is for sure something I will make videos about in the future.

    Congratulations, your videos were very helpfull as I was also stating with twincat. I dont use Beckhoff HMI software as we need to interface with ERPs softwares so I like to use C# for my interfaces. I know that a lot of people will benefit from similar solutions.

    Greetings form Poland Jakob, nice Polish ;)
    I would love to see new videos about project decision - for example: if I've multiple Modbus RTU devices over one serial port - should I write a some kind of queue (FIFO)? How should the blocks communicate with eachother? Where should I place my queue? How could I skip queue if something happen with current device? Maybe there is something out of the shelf, which is implementing this feature? And so on.

    Dear Jakob, since CODESYS 3.5 platform already supports the OOIP concept, it's quite new for a traditional PLC engineer who doesn't have any experience in Java or C++, etc., it would be very nice if you could make a short serial OOIP videos in TwinCAT3.

    • @JakobSagatowski

      Hey Ryan! Good idea. I should note that I've done some videos about OOP in industrial automation in my TwinCAT 3 course, but I should definitely come back to this topic.
