If you're new to my channel and videos, hi! I'm Evan Edinger, and I make travel vlogs of all the exciting places I visit. I started travel vlogging about 8 years ago because I wanted to see more of the world and be able to watch back some of my adventures. I also make weekly comedy videos every Sunday on my main channel usually revolving around funny differences between British vs American things! Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Highly recommend finding an artist with a portfolio of geometric and fine line work (if you want a thin line triangle). I got print lettering done as a walk in without seeing the artists work and the lines are so uneven... He went over some areas and not others. Simple tattoos take a lot of talent to pull off.
Note to Evan: if you arrive and the doors are open, go in - do photos later! I really enjoy your travel videos. Thanks for sharing them
Well it was golden hour and I would have rather got my shots with the nice lighting I did!
I liked your real attitude to things and I especially enjoyed the pacing^^
And my favorite from this video was the church. I have to go there myself someday
1:34 this street brings back so many memories. Warschauer straße station, take a right, cross left at the traffic lights and walk straight ahead
12:43 Boxhagener Platz ❤
Very pleasant video!! My niece is about to go to Berlin to do a semester abroad for college!! I have recommended your videos to her!!
Really appreciate this series of travel videos from Berlin. Sehr gut Evan, und tschuss.
The church was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Great photo on the bench!
Enchanted by the streetcar and s-Bahn video. I would love to travel about my city using those kinds of transportation. TY!🥰
That wayertower brings back memories. I used to live pretty close. Miss Berlin
If you decide to get the tattoo and all things being equilateral, I'm sure it will be a cute one. You'll know if it's the right one and I'm sure that the tattooist won't be obtuse.
Thanks for sharing your Berlin experience, I hope that it gave you the time and space that you needed.
😂
When you said the church was from a show you liked, I had hoped it was _Dark_ and I was _not_ disappointed. I think might be due for a re-watch.
As always very interesting.
I loved the Germany travel series! 💖 I went to Munich Germany a few months ago. It was my first time ever traveling to Europe, and first time traveling by myself. I had the hardest time going around Munich on the Sbahn that I didn’t do much exploring 🥲 I wish to have as much confidence going around like you do! 🙏🏼
When I saw the church I immediately thought of "Dark".
Heathers face for the bono quiz 😂😂😂
So glad you decided to go to the church on the last day, sometimes the stuff you want to do makes the best content.
Is just the start of the video but I wanna say this before I forgot. I dunno in germany but here in Italy for rare case you can autovalidate your tiket on the train if you have a pen with you or you can search the inspector on the train and explain to him the difficulties of stamping the ticket on the ground and usually, as long as you look for him first as soon as you get on the train, you don't incur any fines.
10:46 thats one of the bunkers! that one afaik is the only one left in Berlin and it's got a really interesting story behind it. you can get a guided tour of the inside of it and they tell you the story behind the bunker and its super interesting (although sadly they don't allow photography)
Is it a FLAK tower?
felt like i was watching a extended cut of the NotJustBikes intro..
love that
hahahaha
Time for a cross over video 😊
as a tip: you can reserve a timeslot at BER security for free, then it takes like max. 15 min to get through
I wanted to take a very good look at all that lovely Asian food! Yeah, in Germany I would definitely go for the Japanese cooking! I do love me a Bratwurst though, even though I don't believe in eating Pork.
I find it interesting how the church bells gave you a spooky response whereas I would have thought peaceful
Lotsof❤❤❤❤ 🌹🌹🌹🌹star ⭐⭐to berlin
What have they done to the airport? I had the worst wait times at border control and security (in and out). Makes me miss the old Schönefeld
You're from the UK, right?
I'm pretty sure the longer wait times at EU airports are a consequence of Brexit.
what german school were you going to? was it good? could you review your experience and language learning path?
Wich reminds me. Never actually seen the last season of "Dark"
I’d call them sandshoes (from Hull)
Thought it was really great you showing more regular life plus a bit of local sight seeing.
I thought you might just keep it mostly for yourself and maybe some mostly German videos. Or chart your progress (but I think that might have put more pressure on your learning)
I miss you saying tschüssi and cringing 🥲
💖
Don’t know why this was recommended to me by the algorithm, but as a Berliner I may give you a short advice for going to Berlin clubs. It doesn’t really matter what you wear, it’s more about if you have the Berlin vibe, or may I say spirit and that excludes touristy sightseeing of said clubs. It’s not that you aren’t welcome as a tourist as long as you don’t go there as such. Berghain is basically a gay club where people can express themselves freely and without fear of judgment, I think it’s really important not to take away places like that from them. At least be respectful and go with the flow. Or let’s say it like that: if you’re into bible studies don’t go to KitKatClub.
What series was that church from?
Dark
I would never go to a place where I wouldn't be let in. Of course, if a place is truly full, that's ok, but never to a place where they choose to let some in and some not.
I just looked up the place, and apparently it's a longstanding gay fetish nightclub with techno music. My guess is that Evan & Heather are a little too plain vanilla-looking, even if the bouncers will let in a number of straight couples each night lol. Plus if Evan was tired, he also probably looked uncomfortable and like he didnt want to be there. As an alternative person, I can see why a bouncer would turn them away at first glance when there's a long line of people who will bring better patronage to "fit the vibe" of their establishment. It sucks & is a bit pretentious, yes. But tbh I'm not really sure why Evan was interested in going there if he wasn't even into any of the facets of the scene it represents.
@@BlackCatBritt A place shouldn't select its customers. The very concept is absurd and outrageous! You let people in until the place is full, except for people who are violent, very drunk, high on drugs or otherwise unpleasant. Not because of the style of clothing, if they're a bit tired or anything like that. Places that treat people like that should be demolished and banned from ever existing again.
@@mytube001 You are allowed to hate it, but if it's a privately owned establishment, they can do what they want 🤷♀
@@BlackCatBritt Yes, they can, unfortunately. But they're clearly massive idiots and should be banned from operating any form of business.
@@mytube001 I urge you to have some perspective; these clubs were a place of sanctuary for people who are different in a time when things like "sexual deviancy" was a punishable offense. There is a reason they started out (& continue to be) selective of their clientele, bc much like speakeasy's, if they let in the wrong person, the entire cover would be blown and the people inside would be persecuted for just being who they are- LGBTQIA+.
You may think it's idiotic, but they are simply preserving the culture and history it represents, and there is something to be said for the feeling of freedom & camaraderie they provide for alternative people who can go in and not be looked at weirdly or with disgust. The goth/fetish scene has been slowly dying for decades & driven underground, & I for one respect them for staying true to the culture. Not everyone will understand it, bc it's not meant for those who don't.
It wasn't Elon, it was Gorbatjov .
Aha, the Dark Church.
Hot take: German efficiency is a myth :) At least from my observation of almost two years living in Germany
6:40 you've got a whole lot of "will we get in dressed like this? There's a better chance because I'm over 30."
Get in where? I don't think you've once said where you tried to get in or what the line was for.
berghain
Said Berghain twice or thrice but I assumed everyone knew what that was so didn’t expound
@@EvanEdingerTravel I must have missed it, but no I don't have a clue what that is
@@EvanEdingerTravel honestly, if I heard that I might have thought you were talking about a museum.
so the blond german girl from the other video is not a love-interest, because evan is "coupled"?
an other question:
What does Heather say about Evans Cocker-Spaniel hair-do?
Evan is friends with lots of people, and uses some of those people to just talk culture, vocabulary differences, and loads of things. And yes, Evan and Heather are a couple. They will be marrying too! And she loves him, just as he is.
@@tpkyterooluebeck9224 thank you, that is lovely news
oh noooo why did Heather leave so soon, or at all?
she can't study her stuff for free in Berlin universities?
😭
oh you left too, well ... bye then
it is not Halloween (pagan)
it is Karneval (catholic)
or Fasching (protestant)
Well, Karneval/Fasching is in february so that wouldn't work out timing wise.
Halloween is actually getting quite popular in Germany, espescially in bigger cities
Those are the civilized migrants that are welcome in Germany..unlike...
The graffiti alone would make me hate Berlin. Makes the place look like it’s falling apart. Shame that’s become culturally acceptable for some reason.
Honestly, depends on the graffiti. If it's really well done, it can be rather nice. A quick spray paint off random letters or squiggles, sucks. I hated the spray paint on the trees
@@tomrogue13 I didn’t see a lot of amazing artistry as you do in other cities with designated spaces for fantastic street murals etc. Just felt like the place is overrun by 12 year olds with spray cans.
@@danowen79 there is a lot f great graffity art in Berlin. But mostly it's just ugly tags. Doesn't bother me that much tbh
@@nicktankard1244 You’re probably used to it, but it feels very 1980s to see that level of it from my perspective.
@@danowen79 I only lived there for 3 years. And I come from a city with basically 0 graffiti. But yeah Berlin is crazy. Kinda suits it
