Evgeni's take on the dragon's research is the problem with modern research, everything has to be "for something", anything we discover has to have a purpose. This is a problem because it directs funds to only what can make make a profit instead of broadening our understanding of the natural world in a curious and naive way.

Wasn't Lift's whole "blessing" that she didn't want to change/grow up? And yet, we see her age through the story... What if the change that the old magic is actually preventing is her metamorphosis into a dragon?

I also think that possible Brandon Dragon Riders series is totally dragons riding dragons given this new lifecycle information. Humanoid teens ride the dragons and learn how to dragon.
(My bet is the spores on Lumar release water vapour when they decompose so that the water cycle can continue to function.)

Based on the fact that Brandon considered using a Tamu Kek instead of a Seon for Shallan's plotline in RoW I think it's quite likely Tamu Keks can be used to communicate with more than just dragons. This isn't 100% of course since it hasn't appeared on page, but Brandon wouldn't have considered it if it wasn't an idea he was at least toying with.

  • @aaks_40

On the topic of dragon nicknames I had a theory on that from when Tress came out. My idea was basically that each (major) dragon has three names. A Sho Del name, a human name, and a dragon name:
    - The most familiar name like Foil or Frost is the dragon name that equals use to address them (so vessels and other dragons mostly)
    - She Who Brings the Dew at Dawn seems like a name you'd give to a divine being but we haven't seen any other vessels get that kind of name so I think it's a title the Sho Del have for her
    - Xisisrefliel and Koravellium Avast/Koravari would be the human one to fit the pattern
Based on this, I would expect that Karavari's "dragon name" is Dew or Dawn (hopefully not Dawn because that would be confusing with Dawnshards). I also think that Foil and Frost might be clues to their "Sho Del name". I think I've seen stuff like "He Who Foils the Plans of His Rivals" or something for Xisis. Maybe Frost could be something like "He who Follows the Frost of Night" or something.

    • @alyssakoo2089

She Who Brings the Dew at Dawn certainly sounds like a religious title/name. Perhaps its her title within the group of her followers/corporation?

RE Jessie’s second question in the segment about Kelsier and the Orb of the Ire, whether or not he could have been able to Connect to Autonomy using purified Dor. What if it’s a matter of amount of Investiture?
Recent events in Sunlit Man show us how Aux was able to Connect Sig to Canticle using what was ostensibly “little” Investiture, which could be due to Sig being geographically there. Also, in Secret History we see that the Ire bring their Orb of pure Dor to Scadrial’s Cognitive Realm to try to Ascend to Preservation which, even though pure, did not seem like a great amount of Investiture.
What if, then, Connection through Investiture worked in a similar way to electricity on Earth? In world, they are both forms of energy, so there’s that. So with electricity, two sources could connect through arcs; the two key parameters being “power“ (I think in the real world this is Voltage and difference in electric potential from one pole to the other, but since I’m not an expert I will use the term “power” to simplify things) and distance: the shorter the distance, the less amount of power required for an arc connection, and vice versa. This also would be consistent with what we’ve seen Connection is like: electricity flows through the path of least resistance, but what is the least resistant path can change when there is a previous connection; which sounds awfully similar to the way Connection works in the Cosmere, particularly in what’s related to Shards.
And so, Brandon always says something along the lines of “everything is somewhat Connected in the Cosmere because everything is made of Investiture and it has the same origin and blablala” (exact quote, by the way). All this is what makes me think that, theoretically, and with potentially unachievable amounts of Investiture, someone could Connect themselves to whatever they wanted to in the whole Cosmere.
It would also make sense in the way that Shards can just Invest and Connect things to them and them to things as they please to some extent, but when they need more control, EG: Autonomy in Scadrial, they send Avatars to the geographical location to directly Invest there and make a stronger Connection.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. This is the second time I type this whole wall of text because my browser decided to crash and I’m triggered that I had to think of everything again.

I think the ONLY way to try to do the Darkeyes story again is if Moash gets a redemption. In fact, narratively Moash being the vehicle through which the Darkeyes gain liberation, and tieing that directly into liberation for the Listerners too, would probably be the best way of having a Moash redemption arc.
It is the injustice of the Alethi system that drove him bad, having it be his salvation would work very well as doing the reverse, I think.
Although If I was going to be honest, I would imagine that Brandon has simply decided he isn't that interested in it, and we wont see a satisfying conclusion to those earlier narrative arcs.

At a certain point either the Radiants work to undo the class structure or they are complicit in it because, as Radiant and having the power and authority to do something, you either saw there was something wrong and did nothing or did not believe there was anything wrong in the first place. They give birth in humanoid form, then have a transformation in puberty to dragon form, and then can go back and forth after that. So what if the water cycle on Lumar involves the water and aethers having natural occurring luhel bonds (where the water doesn't just make the aether explode) and hence if one can figure out how this occurs naturally, one could continue to create mechanical luhel bonds with aethers that don't involve a person being involved and without these aethers going bonkers hence aether fabrials.
