Yes, getting the financial and legal agreements sorted and documented is so important before anything is started, ie: moving it. I'm looking forward to seeing you tackle another project. ;-) Btw - How long is Slo Patrol versus this boat?
Run James. Open ended financial arrangements will always bite you in the rear end. Effectively what he's getting is free labour from yourself, both managing the project and spending many hours on the refit. And you have no idea what will really happen when it's finished. You could sell Sloe Patrol and a month later he'll want to sell the finished boat for a price you can't afford, after it's yourself that's made it worth that price. Where will you live then?
Oh wow James, how exciting it sounds right up your street, can't wait to see what unfolds, good luck, looking forward to updates. Best wishes Christine x

Wow!! Exciting start to the new year, James! If the original fit-out was a professional job, please think twice before ripping it ALL out to replace with DIY. Maybe give the traditional layout a chance...it might work better than you imagined, be absolutely no big deal, and would save an unholy amount of stress, time and added expense. With your work ethic you could have it complete by summer if you resist taking a sledgehammer to it.
Amazing news James, I’ve loved watching you progress with Sloe Patrol to what it is today, the work you have done on the interior is beautiful, but can you imagine what you could create with 57 feet, I’d love this once in a lifetime opportunity to come along, but I’m not that lucky 😂 good luck with everything, and hope it all goes well.

Exciting stuff there James. I dont reckon theres 'enough' sulphuric acid in a single battery to pose too much of an issue when its diluted with that amount of fresh water. Very exciting! Could it be the ‘Narrow Boat James Saved?’ I don’t think there are huge problems with the engine, as the air intake was above water. Only thing that could be an issue is if the acid damaged the seals and gaskets, but don’t think there was enough volume of that vs. the amount of water. While it looks ugly, the internals should be sound. There may be other issue, such as with the transmission (doubt it) or the shaft seal. Also any wiring or tubing should be replaced. Great news. Happy new year, again! First job, have a chat with P&S Marine, show them the footage and hopefully get them to have an up-close look. Done.
