It is the future.
ESM has usurped all other genres as the dominant medium of music, more popular than rap, hip-hop, metal, jazz, _everything._
All acoustic instruments have been forgotten; not one remained.
The ESM was indeed great, but the inspiration that birthed it faded, and what birthed such greatness was now lost.
One man longed for the ancient sources, the true acoustic music of legend, and he vowed to find it and share whatever he found with the world.
He and his team of archaeologists discovered an ancient buried fortress of memes long dead for centuries.
As the explorers crept around the dank crypt amongst the dead memes, there was one lone sarcophagus that lay alone amongst the dank decay.
The leader approached the dusty coffin of solid gold ornate with...a strange symbol that repeated all over it and was also displayed prominently as a crest over the lid.
"Is this ancient English?"
"No it isn't," the linguist said, "but it does look like an upside-down 7, albeit a strange one..."
The leader placed a hand on the sarcophagus and the explorers were thrown back as the lid flew off and shattered as it crashed to the ground!

"It's coming from the sarcophagus!"

0:35 And from it came a sound that shook the very dust of the chamber, shattering the darkness with bright lights! Some fell to their knees shedding tears for the long lost sound, others lost control and gyrated their entire bodies to the rhythm. The ancient man levitated forward and descended amongst the unworthy rabble before him educating them on true music.
1:08 For a moment the man's power subsided, but the explorers begged for more. The man still playing, eyes closed understood better than they did their need. He held his place for what felt an eternity...
1:30 ...before granting their wish for more. The team rejoiced knowing they found the ultimate source of their music. The leader had fulfilled his self-sworn oath to find the original source for his time's music--to find true music. Mere words wouldn't describe the true joy they felt, the longing fulfilled. Everyone embraced, they danced, the brilliant colors and lights seemed as if to permeate outside the catacombs' walls. All the while the strange man, now the Risen of the Dead Memes, floated without a care as he spread the power of his sound, for he new that in these exploreres generational memories awakened of a danker time with danker friends somewhere on a beach, or in a bar, or on a stage they were never on with an audience cheering.
2:20 The team cheered for the man's music. "Who are you?" The leader asked.
"They called me The Epic Sax Guy. I wasn't really trying--I just kinda blew up on the internet at the time and was immortalized."
"Well of course you were! With that sound..." the leader began to cry, "We found something that was once lost."
"It was never lost."
"What?"
"The music was always in you. That is what led you here," said the mysterious man motioning all around him. "I knew from the moment you touched my sarcophagus that your time, your people, had the music trapped inside," he said giving the object to the leader, "It's time to unleash it."
The leader took it hesitantly, "But it's yours..."
"It's a gift."
"What is it called? How do I play it?"
"It is a saxophone, and playing will come pretty naturally for you. Try it. Trust me."
3:15 The leader took a deep breath, closed his eyes...and sound came forth. The team looked in amazement and roared with applause. The lights and colors in the catacombs shined all the brighter, the bass seemed to shake the foundations of the Earth itself, the leader's feet moved to and fro, back and forth, his whole body twirled as his soul soared.
3:48 All at once he stopped. The music began to fade slowly. He looked around for the Epic Sax Guy, but didn't see him. He looked back at the uncovered sarcophagus, but the inside was still empty. He had disappeared.
Some began to curse and be inconsolable. "Don't be sad," the leader said, "Sax Guy's spirit lives on in us."
"No sir," said one archeologist smiling, "he lives on in _you."_
4:00 As the team departed, the leader played his new sax complimenting the ESM beat. And eventually as they left through the tomb's threshold and as the leader whispered a final farewell and thanks, so the music also faded from the dank depths, and all was once again deathly quiet in the Tomb of the Dead Memes.
