    Another great video, thanks Gail. I absolutely love Sam Cousans' root over rock Scots pine and was intreagued by his explanation of the September pruning techinique, but the conversation moved on before he was able to finish talking. Can you or Sam elaborate on this techinique please?

      Hi. It’s actually on a previous Caz workshop video with that particular scotty. I’ll try to create another video with all it stages over the last year. What you do is prune back the centre bud during the end of the growing session, before the bud gets too big. This should then allow the energy to encourage back budding instead of using its energy to develop that bud. It’s usually around end of July to September but you need to look at the tree as the weather can determine when this happens. I hope that helps.
