- Playing Grapop in 2018 was like a Dream Come True for Me!
We played the Main-Stage to a Sold Out Audience of 55,000 People Alongside Ozzy Osborne, Judas Priest, A Perfect Circle, Bullet for My Valentine, Body Count with Ice T, Hollywood Vampires with Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp! Not to mention the other HUGE Names on the bill like Meshuggah, Tesseract, Emmure, Mike Patton and More!
Being backstage at this festival was MIND BLOWING. Even for someone that has played other huge festivals and tours for a living! But This one takes the cake!
An experience I truly hope have again someday.
And I see you Wacken Open Air... I'm coming for you Next!

Back when I was on on the road with Pro-Pain in 2007 I experienced a simular crowd at With Full Force festival Germany. Headliner was Slayer. Me and JC Dwyer went behind the backdrop and peaked through to see Dave Lombardo dubblekicking them bassdrums! That was awesome!

This is the most underrated, slept on band I’ve ever heard. They crush. This is an insane live show - wish I was there. Pretty sure Sepultura played their earlier album in ~2004 before they came on, been looking for them ever since.

The band has changed lineups A LOT over the 30 years. I have been with Pro-Pain for 5 years.
Gary's bass is a BEAST. Heavy as F*CK!
The band didn't start using 7 Strings until about 2000 with the "Round 6" record I believe. We tune in standard so we can easily play songs from the first few records without changing guitars or tuning.

@@MadManMusic Aha... that makes a lot of sense! Around 2000 this dude loaned me his 7 for about a week and man the riffs were flying out just DOOM Chugs all day!
Damn those two guitarists could have jumped in on vocals and gave gary a breather. Mitts from madball always jumped up to the mic when freddy got winded. Same with Billy and Evan from biohazard they would jump in and help on vocals in one got winded even if it was the other guys part. But gary came right back on deathwish. But damn he was winded the guitar players should have stepped up to the mic and let him catch his breath. Hardcore punk is intense music sometimes the singer needs to take a breath.
We sing when he wants us to sing. 🤷🏻♂️

Gary's voice is so gutteral and he is getting older. He still sounds great but damn those two guitarists have microphones Infront of them. For what. They don't even help sing the chorus when gary needs a breath. Mitts daniels always jumped on the mic to give freddy madball a breather.
Yeah unfortunately we’re not Madball. We have vocals lines that are rehearsed and thats that. 🤷🏻♂️
Also when we’re playing super large Festival Stages like this one, we dont really hear much of him. We dont have his voice in our monitors because it would distract us from playing our parts correctly. Some of Pro-Pain’s music requires us to play super tight, and Gary wants that more.

Its nearly hard to listen to Pro Pain these days. They are so underrated were the originators to so fucking much modern metal. Top 5 bad of all time for me. Up there with Emperor, My Dying Bride and Metallica easily
