He’ll go down as my favorite NFL player ever. Even over Brady or Marino and other certified greats. Watching him obliterates NFL defenses was a blessing to watch.
Vick is my favorite player of all time no doubt, but the Eagles had Randall Cunningham and Steelers had Flash so yes, Vick is better still people seem to forget those players especially how good an Eagles Cunningham really was. Randall had a huge cannon with lots of mobility. I know in 1990 he had like 3500 passing yards 30tds 13 INTs also he rushed for almost a 1,000 with 5tds all in one season . Vick for as much as a legend as he is, as a qb was pretty mixed. He had a Cannon of an arm but wasn't all that accurate even for the era he was in, never even coming close to a 60% completion percentage during Atlanta, and only doing so once his whole career, that 2010 year with Philly. He made up for it a lot with his freakish athleticism and speed, in an era of big slow linebackers that made him a nightmare for defenses. That also came with him getting injured quite often, missing games a lot or playing banged up. He's arguably more backed up as a Madden legend than he was on the field
yeah but throwing is miles more important then running... and you know. aaron rodgers, tom brady, joe montana, payton manning, drew brees, alot of others are better if you look at any stat that dosent involve running
He is most definitely a what could of been...Imagine if he had his head on straight and obsessively worked on accuracy and having a supercomputer mind of instinctive plays...Imagine
Can't say I agree that this video has a very balanced representation of Vick's career here. Dogfighting stuff aside completely, you completely glossed over many key statistics about his career in favor of a focus on gross total yards and TD counts. What about the fact that in his 7 years that he started more than 10 games, he threw double digits worth of interception in 5 of those. He also fumbled more than 10 times in 5 of those 7 years. This led to his most productive years you cited here being plagued with nearly a 1 to 1 TD to turnover ratio. There is alot more to talk about here than was in my opinion.
I was gonna post something like this. This is a real rose-colored glasses look at this guy. He was no doubt the most electrifying runner as a QB probably ever, but his passing credentials outside of that one out-of-nowhere Philly season were always subpar.
The best he ever did on a season was 3,300 yards, in a time when the league leader was doing 4,500+. And in that lauded 2010 comeback campaign he finished 20th in the league. The two good years with the Eagles were the only times he broke 3,000. Highly over-rated guy who should have been running a single wing or wing-T or something.
It's sad to see all these talented players who suffered off the field issues. Who knows what could of been if he never went to prison , coming back and playing that good the sky was the ceiling for how much he could of improved.
I chatted with him about the BLM movement on IG recently. He was extremely nice and a total gentleman❣️ And still one of my favorite players ever. I wonder if he will ever make it to Canton..

I thought the most amazing part of Vick's game was his elusiveness in the pocket. the only player better at avoiding contact that I've ever seen was Barry Sanders. As for Vick's weakness, I think he lacked touch on his passing. This shone through in his short and mid-range game where it often looked like he might scorch his receivers hands off. summed up? Amazing athlete that was incredibly injury prone and had off field issues. Cannon arm and crazy fast
AND He fumbled a lot, dude carried the ball like a subway sandwich
Awesome video. Just want to say, I’m a die hard Vick fan. I watched him as a young boy and loved the way he played and loved how he transformed into a better person after all the drama.
It’s crazy how people just forget.
I think Cunningham was a lot better QB than Vick. Much better passer. Looking at 3 all pros vs 0. Honestly, Randall IMO is the most underrated player in NFL history. His numbers, especially for the time, were crazy
Slash not flash
He is Artful, smooth and cool. I tell you if you watch his back games on youtube, you still get that sensation of excitement for you didn't know if he was going to run or throw and if they were going to get him...

And his completion percentage was very sub par by nfl standards
I was gonna post something like this. This is a real rose-colored glasses look at this guy. He was no doubt the most electrifying runner as a QB probably ever, but his passing credentials outside of that one out-of-nowhere Philly season were always subpar.
The best he ever did on a season was 3,300 yards, in a time when the league leader was doing 4,500+. And in that lauded 2010 comeback campaign he finished 20th in the league. The two good years with the Eagles were the only times he broke 3,000. Highly over-rated guy who should have been running a single wing or wing-T or something.
I lived an hour from Indy, during the Manning era.. but it was Vick who first got me watching the NFL in the early 2000s.

To be fair, Marino and Elway had issues with that early in their careers as well, but I think the maybe adjusted more quickly? /2cents
