postpartum depression can hit some women really hard, to the point of them being unable to even interact with their child in the most basic way. this is a genuine medical condition, but sadly people will judge the person as just a bad mother, causing a lot of them to not seek the help necesary out of fear of being shamed for it
I mean it's sad but mental illness is not an excuse for child abuse. Judgement is not the punishment. Like, nobody cares if a child abuser feels shame for what they do. Lmao
@@dmwanderer9454 less judgement would make people more willing to search for help and thus making them better and able to care for themselves and their children
In my opinion, bathing the child with gloves is not child abuse, after all they’re doing their best of keeping the child’s well being and at the same time battling with their own condition; of course, this sole act affects the child’s view on themselves and relationships and their mental health in general, but taking in mind the mental state of the mother, it’s more helpful if this illness could have more attention and portray in the media and give awareness to help both the child and the mother, also avoiding some abusing scenarios that could occur from postpartum depression. Sorry for any mistake, I may have misspelled some words ;(
Last year I tried doing research if there are actually parents like this; at most I found studies of parents using a form of barrier if their child is severely allergic to something, and even then there's very little info about that. I'm still not sure if this kind of thing does happen, or is simply made up; but either way, this really does tug at the heart strings
look up "post partum depression" when a woman is pregnant her body is overflowing with hormones, most used in the development of the child, but that means a single human body contains twice over these nessceary hormones, causing mood shifts and personality deviations, also metabolic changes/damage...people think the sacrifice of birth is only physical when the truth is, its mental as well. after birth the brain receives permanent damage to memory and other cognitive abilities. essentially some women become functionally insane for 6moths to a year after birth. there is no known evolutionary explanation as for why that is. this is likely what happened to his mother, all hints point too postpartum psychosis. the sad part is, with therapy and time she would have loved him normally, she just died before she could get help
@@emokid732 I see. I've heard of that kind of thing, but I never thought it could be this severe, go to this extent or last for so long. Thank you for informing me about this.
So sad….if I ever get postpartum depression, I will do everything in my power to get rid of that feeling. I like kids so I will love my child with all my heart.
Postpartum is just an excuse created by disillusioned women who don’t want to be accountable for their children. All depression stems from regret. Grow up!

@@dmwanderer9454 thanks for proving the point of why these women don't seek help
I remember bingeing this series. I namely saw it in Japanese Dub, but it still hits hard seeing some of these moments. Such a neat show

I want to watch the anime but the Goofy proportions always throw me off😭
Does this kid go to school?
He does
This show was heartbreaking and this scene especially was awful.
