@@peterp.7761 I was a year ahead of you 1973, after high school I joined the Marine Corps. After boot camp at Parris Island, I was transferred to Camp LeJeune NC. Not much to do in the evenings either go into Jacksonville NC and get drunk and get into a fight. That got old after a while, so I stayed on base ran a lot in the evenings then listen to music. 1974, had some of my favorite songs of all-time. Then Aug74 I was transferred to Okinawa. That was a wild place, nothing but drugs and alcohol. But still enjoyed listening to music. Sep 75 back to Camp LeJeune NC and finally discharged in Oct 77. Those 4 years was great and I listened to music all the time. Now at 66 yrs old Im typing this and listening 70s on 7 on XM radio. Stay safe and greetings from Charleston, WEST Virginia, Semper Fi

@@nancymcconnell7973 were you ever station Kadena AFB on Okinawa? I've told this story before, I was stationed at Camp Foster real close to Kadena AFB. We use to sneak over to Kadena and eat at one of their dining facilities. The Marine Corps called the chow hall... Mess Hall, because the food was a mess. Initially I was headed to join the Air Force, I saw a Marine Recruiter in his Dress Blues, 2 weeks later I was at Parris Island. RUclips is what keeps all the classic tunes, concerts etc. So we can see the people who were the sounds of music on the radio, vinyl records, 8 tracks, cassettes, etc.🎶✌️
Even after four years after Randy Bachman left The Guess Who, it's obvious that he wasn't exactly flavour of the month with Burton Cummings. In 1975 Randy wrote the BTO song "Hey You" about Burton Cummings, so Burton wasn't exactly flavour of the month with Randy either, I'm so glad that in 1977 they were both man enough to bury the hatchet and perform some live Guess Who classics together again. Life's too short to be bitter and twisted. Respect to Burton and Randy.
If You listen to the Live version of When The Band Was Singing Shakin' All Over, You Hear Cummings sing, Had To Tell Big Randy The News. So by 1975, I guess Burton didn't mind talking about Bachman.
So after the break did the band play Clap For The Wolfman ? Why not Dancin' Fool . New album and single to promote . Gary Peterson has always felt Burton did not give this band lineup enough time to work . The more I listened to Flavors and Power In The Music the more I really enjoyed the material on both albums . The song Dreams was one of the best works from ( Cummings- Troiano ) . Strange to this day Burton does not preform any album recordings from this final phase of the group . First time ever seeing this interview clip from ' 74 . Thank you , not many of these little gems around from this era of the Guess Who .
"CKLW, weather!" Among my earliest musical memories is hearing "American Woman" on CKLW when the song was brand new. For those playing at home, a certain Rosalie Trombley was the music director at CKLW, and she definitely played a role in getting the band more airplay. Meanwhile, across the river, a certain Bob Seger was frustrated that CKLW didn't play *his* stuff, so he wrote a song, "Rosalie", made popular some years later when Thin Lizzy covered it.
The finial (LP) release Power In The music did not set the Billboard charts on fire that's for sure . After a seven week appearance climbing no higher then # 87 it was gone . Still the album contents would be the last ever for the Guess Who with Burton and their association with RCA . Forgettable music for many I will agree . Many more never heard of Power In The Music or Dreams . Say Dreams you think of Stevie Nicks . Dreams from the Guess Who takes me back to the summer of 1975 18 years old thinking this is one cool headphone track . 49 years later I still do .
Consider yourself a big Guess Who fan… or just a casual fan? Think about your top ten favourite Guess Who songs. If more than half of them are hit singles, you’re a casual fan.
Great interview aside from Burton constantly answering louder than others; at least have new guitarist speak! Would like to see them play a couple of those recent hits live before or after.
1974, was a great for music. I've always been a Guess Who fan since the 60s. I'm a 65 years old and still love rock n roll.
'74 was my graduation year.. the music was superb!

I'm with you!
I've been a Guess Who fan since 1969. They have done so many excellent songs!
I have been enjoying all things THE GUESS WHO for 50 years.
I'm 56.
Incredible!
Looks like we are big Guess Who fans. Greetings from Charleston, West Virginia.

@@QuarrellaDeVil The power of the song writers pen . By 1976 - 1977 for sure CKLW had Segers music in full airplay rotation .
“Dreams” is the worst song in Guess Who history. Nonsense lyrics (yeah, I know… because actual dreams are like that) and forgettable music.

That interviewer doesn't know how to stop asking the question he's asking...
Oops, Flavors wasn't that good..ha. Met Gary in Honolulu, HI in 1990. Great guy.
One of my first albums was "The Best of Guess Who" and I wore that album out.

Bert ?
Great vid … loved the guess who ….. tha band changed sooo much with troiano being their part of the demise
Troiano brought musical expertise to the band. Both albums he was on were great
I agree. Troiano did not belong.
Troiano brought a jazz infusion. Great guitarist but the best lineup was Cummings, Petersen, Wallace, McDougal and Winter.
Dumb questions. 🙄
Burton is the leader of The Guess Who. The host of the show is crappy.
