Bare minimum, if you have one with miles on it. Throw fresh spider gears in it, new wheel bearings and a good performance fluid and it'll be ok. Your build is perfect to make one live forever.
Great info! I built mine with the strongest 28 spline axles That nitro gears make, mini spool and welded everything on a 4 link. It handled my s10 with a sbc 421 on a 300 shot of nitrous for years. I still think you should just go down to the boneyard and find an F150, Expedition, Explorer, Panther body or Mustang 8.8 with the right gears you want, if its a 80s Monte with like a 305 go for a 4.10 or even lower, if its a big block I'd probably try to find a 3.55 maybe a 3.73, if its an LT1 or LS1 3.73 for sure.
I need to weld my axel tubes..what do you use? A mig welder? Is the rearend cast iron? I have a similar set up on my 7.5 in an '87 MC SS.. the previous owner raced the car with slicks. It has an Auburn posi, GM 3.73 gears, Moser 28 spline axels, Moser differential girddle and filled up with Amsoil fluid. Its a low to mid 13 second car. Rearend still holding up.

I have a 350hp/390tq LT1 in my camaro. You think it will be okay? it has an auburn locker, but with way bigger springs than the original. 3.73 gear. Moser Axles, and thick cover with bearing pressing screws.
It still has the 190k 2.73 axle in it. still works but vibrates over 90. I built my axle to go to a 3.73. I got an auburn lsd and richmond gears. Quick question! I got an 84 Monte and it supposedly has the 26 spline. If I go to 28 besides the rear axles and diff do I have to change anything off the drive shaft?
Hey question does the axle length change from the series 2 to series 3 . The 28 spline is shorter then the 26 spline is it because the center section is wider? Cause I went on eBay n they don’t sell a 28 spline the same length as a 26 spline . Please hit me back so I can figure this out . Thnx

now let me see if i got this right , moser engineering gm 10 bolt 7.5 c clip 28 spline axles 28 and 7/16 long for a gbody ,, price 314.00 before tax ,, and gm 7.5 detroit /eaton true trac posi carrier with 3.73 ring and pinion and bearing kit 675.00 before tax ,, im taking your word for it and thats what im getting ready to buy all brand new to put in my 87 cutlass supreme 7.5 rear end not to mention i just bought a rear disk brake conversion kit and a 175.00 dollar rear end cover , so that will be just fine for me burning out here and there in the city ? plus my trans th 350 is in the shop right now being completely rebuilt with a shift kit and i just bought a 350 crate engine thats still on the stand , so whats your opinion before i pull the trigger on this , does it sound like a good set up for me ? i know you got that knowledge in you , so whatta you think, thanks .
I was debating on getting a 8.8 for my Monte Carlo but I believe I’ll just reuse the 7.5.. also I’m subscribing to your channel I see you dropping a lot of knowledge 💎💪🏾🎯💯
Thank u fam , I put this combination in almost every gbody I do
@@Mr_getinthere I had a Yukon posi & 3:73 gears in my box Chevy and it turned my 6’s over with no problem.. I like Yukon bc they have the lifetime warranty but im definitely taking your advice
Hey, i have a G Body 1987 Elco. Whats the best differential? Im going to install 383 stroker.
If the last guy raced it the tubes probably fine ,but it won't hurt to weld them.,mig or stick ,tig any one is fine
Man I got that truetrac when I unboxed it I could tell the difference that it wasn't no bull. And the 28 spline axles. Moser of course
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Moser MSR-A102801 are $319 on Summit as of 8/3/22
i think you did a great job i whish i had your knowledge on these rear ends i think your doing a fine job , thanks for the info
Thank u brother
nice! Over last 20yrs i've must'a swapped half dozen junkyard 10 bolts on my 99' SS. No joke on $200 vs $2500. plus those big ass heavy 9'' inch and d60s steal so much fuckn power the 8.8s aint bad but I'll worry about that when I can't find any 10 bolts at the boneyard lol y 10 bolts at the boneyard lol I don't even really give a flyn fuck about a lower ratio these days just adjust my shift-points a lil my average et's running a 6 speed going from 4.10 to 3.42 dropped only a tenth or two cause my trap speed improved just not as rowdy feeling on the street but gained 5mpg
So I gotta 77 impala
I see a 2001 camaro complete rear end
Can I just use the whole thing
Or just pull the diff and disk brakes
And buy the Miser axles and gear set??
You can also check 99-02 ws6 tran am or 6 speed (342) zextel torsion are in there. I rebuilt one, I have a video u might like, RUclips
Fbody Testing the zextel torsion SS Camaro.
Nice job 👍
What’s a good price for someone to install these gears ⚙️ Not Trying To Get Beat?
I did everything to my 10 bolt in my 97 camaro except having the axle tubes welded. I did everything else to it. now its built and closed up but not yet installed, should i disassamble it and have the axle tubes welded? is it that much of a thing? I have a 350hp/390tq LT1 in my camaro. You think it will be okay? it has an auburn locker, but with way bigger springs than the original. 3.73 gear. Moser Axles, and thick cover with bearing pressing screws.
It still has the 190k 2.73 axle in it. still works but vibrates over 90. I built my axle to go to a 3.73. I got an auburn lsd and richmond gears. Loud don''t matter. full UMI suspension, (everything under the car, all of it) Spohn Aluminum driveshaft. My rear has everything done to it except welding the tubes.
@weskirkland5850 u can still weld it up just watch the heat put like two one inch welds one on each side of the tube that will hold it u need to get some Moser axles as well
Yea I just bought my moser axels it’s was like $380 for the axels studs bearings etc
Are you upgrading the yoke and driveshaft? Have an 01 Blazer Xtreme that I'm swapping a 383 in that's hitting at bout 500hp. This toothpick of a shaft is worrying me! Any info would be appreciated!💯
Yes , I would get another one fan
I wanna a little rumble rolling out the club😂
Do it matter what size motor and drive shaft
Ive got the gu5 g80 with the stronger axles welded those ends ARP carrier studs and a Hawks diff cover with the bearing supports
Bro i grabbed the axles out a 2wd blazer for my 86 monte but they wont fit because of the bearings is there a smaller bearing or do i need to just start fresh
Took your advice for my El Camino rear end. Thanks.

Woud a rear end out of a 2002 camaro z28 LS1 6speed fit a 85 box chevy?
The posi unit YESS
Thanks for the Info man, Iv been debating if i should swap out my 7.5 on my 03 mustang v6 to the 8.8 now I'm planning to build my 7.5. Do you have any opinion on Yukon dura grip lsd/axels? I hear they make strong product's.
Use Moser axels and you'll be fine
Shit, you have a mustang just swap to the 8.8.
🤣😂 your video never gets old
Hey man i got a 6.0 motor was the best way to go if i want a 4.10 gears n posi b my 1979 Chevy malibu it have the original rearend

Did you not watch the video ? He said all the parts he used. Get a pen and paper and write it down. Lol
What gears should I get for this build
Quick question! I got an 84 Monte and it supposedly has the 26 spline. If I go to 28 besides the rear axles and diff do I have to change anything off the drive shaft?
No fam nothing else changes
Highly Appreciated

@@Mr_getinthere bet 👍 I'm subscribing
Hey question does the axle length change from the series 2 to series 3 . The 28 spline is shorter then the 26 spline is it because the center section is wider? Cause I went on eBay n they don’t sell a 28 spline the same length as a 26 spline . Please hit me back so I can figure this out . Thnx
Axels are the same no matter if it's a 2 series or a 3 series carrier
Do you have any Torsen zexel’s on deck?
Bro I found a 99 Trans Am with the G80 GU5 codes on the door will that work?
Question, did you use 3rd gen Camaro true trac diff, and GN 28 spline axles?
3rd gen dont come with that posi
My bad 4th gen, I be tired coming from work.
Need help did blazer rear brake conversion with 28 spline axles and driver side axle setting out further than pasenger side does. What am I doing wrong ?
