Shahrukh Waheed Agree. Though Emma with Amy and Tina is just quality ❤️ There is such a difference when a comedy actress/actor is the host. (For one, they actually learn their lines and don’t have to keep staring at the cue cards.. or at least don’t do it so damn obviously as the rest of the cast seem too.) Plus Brits don’t take themselves seriously, and aren’t so saccharine/ ‘worthy’. Emma Thompson is just Legend. What is great is this is that this is just what she is like in real life... she is bonkers and delightful. (OK, I’m basing that on bumping into her her once in a shop in London, but she was super approachable and chatty (we were taking the piss out of the complexity and side effects of contouring) Bloody wonderful woman. Wanted to say ‘Can we be mates, please?’ and swap numbers, but that would be weird... and I’m British, so Wish I could be more like her. But I guess she is the product of her upbringing (her parents are actors too, Eric Thompson and Phyllida Law,) She went to Cambridge Uni, where she was in the Footlights thestre troupe. All our great comic actors seem to have been in the theatre groups at Oxford or Cambridge.. High Laurie, Stephen Fry, Olivia Coleman, Peter Cook, Dougla Adams (wrote Hitchhikers guide).. the list is really telling. Suggest if your kid wants to get into acting/comedy writing send them to Cambridge!!
She started out in standup and sketch comedy, and had a reputation as being WAY over the top and working blue enough to make her fellow comics uncomfortable, which she loved. Also, the hottest sex scene ever filmed is her and Jeff Goldblum in THE TALL GUY.
This was one of the best SNL monologues I have ever seen. You can NEVER go wrong with Emma Thompson, EVER. And then you add Tina and Amy (plus Kenan)? No regular players just All-Stars. Gold.
Mateo @Mateo Yeah, of course that's what I meant because they're women! What else could I possibly mean?? It had to be related to blood and vaginas and reproduction, right? Right? ...Guys?
Not usually into the sentimental endings, but considering it's three of the best women in entertainment pulling it off flawlessly, I'll make an exception.
Emma Thompson is one of the MOST HILARIOUS live interview actors/performers to watch. She's HYSTERICALLY funny, as well as has a risque and bawdy sense of humor and is EXTREMELY entertaining. She is a JEWEL.
With all the Oscars and Golden Globes she's won I forget sometime that Emma Thompson started out as a comedian. Usually actors and actresses have the cast help them out in the monologue like questions from audience, cast members coming in and out. It's usually the professional comedians who deliver straight up monologue solo. Although she had Amy and Tina do it with her I'm sure she could have done this monologue solo as well. It was a solid trio
Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, and Emma Thompson were a great comedy trio, years later people forget all three well accomplished actors/writers/directors are sketch comedians at heart.

Emma Thompson needed no one to help her make her monologue funnier. With her experience and talent in acting and writing, she could run circles around every writer and comedian connected to SNL.
