This is so fun to crochet and it’s actually very easy, too! You can use any colors you choose and it will be beautiful no matter what!

Red Heart Yarn - White, Royal and Cherry Red from Walmart
Size G crochet hook

Totally love this pattern. I like that it begins with the popcorn stitch in the center. Had the wrong stitch count because I didn’t realize that you cut/ finish off each color change, and begin a new color and join in a star point. This is the perfect pattern I was looking for to make a very special Star in my life. Thank you for sharing 💕

I have had alot of problems with learning how to crochet a star in this pattern. Can do granny style ones but not this type . You have been the only one that i understand. Always have trouble with counting how many on each row. You count as 5 7 9 an 11 so on . But i always count mind as 5 6 7 8 9. Does not work couldn't understand what i was doing wrong . But Thanks To You I am now being able to crochet the star the right way . Enjoy crocheting. Thank You So Very Much . 😊 ❤❤

I love this blanket so much! I just recently started crocheting so this may be a stupid question but how do you wash this blanket and is there an issue with the red bleeding into the white?
It depends on the yarn you buy. Make sure it’s machine washable and dry able. Acrylic will probably be your best bet. The colors are so beautiful and don’t run. Keep me posted if you decide to make it 💖🥰🧶

Hiya Sparkly One 🦄 I'm in UK 🏴. Beautiful work I'm loving it for the car for the baby. Can u let me know how many yards/grams for the 3 & 4 foot dimensions please? Hope pandemic regs are eading for you & yours, take good care, unusual crazy times. We can now travel outside Wales into rest of UK but can't leave the island❣
Hi Gloria! Each skein in my video has 744 yds/396 grams in it. I think I used 6 total skeins to make a 5 foot blanket, but you should buy a few extra just in case! It is really so beautiful! I gave mine away as a gift, so I can't really remember how many I used....sorry about that. It's better to have left over yarn for other projects, right?? Haha!! Happy crocheting! I absolutely love this blanket. I am making one for my grandson at the moment. But while I'm making it its like its twirling, it's hard to lay it straight down. I have to keep pushing it all the way around for it to lay flat a little. Can you help? Want to send you a picture of it so you can see what I'm talking about but I don't know how

Hi, I have had the same problem too despite all my stitches being correct. I watched another you tube video on this blanket and every 3rd row only had 2 X2 double crockets in the points (corners) to avoid the curling and it works. Good luck

I'm very new to crochet and REALLY struggling with this pattern, ive got my first attempt which I frogged because it was curling at the ends, it had loads of ripples in it and the star was twisted. I made a second attempt which was going so great, but as its gotten bigger it seems like there are folds in the star and it will not lay flat. I can manipulate most of it to lay flat but then the folds pop up elsewhere.
I'm losing the will to crochet at this point 😂 I've counted EVERY single stich, even using stitch markers and with my second attempt I've even been taking notes and counting after every section that I'm on track.
I can not for the life of me figure out where I've gone wrong this time ... HELP 😂
I’m so sorry to hear you’re having a hard time. Try using a smaller hook. I think that will help a lot. Keep me posted 🥰🧶

Hi Ellen, the size will be whatever you want to make it. You just keep increasing every row until the desired size. Hope that helps 😃
Just an fyi your Susan Bates hook you are using is now worth a small fortune. Made in the USA not Mexico they are now considered rare and vintage. Hang on to it!!!!
Oh wow! I had no idea! I’ve had it since I was a teen, I think. I never even thought they would be worth anything. I’ve also inherited some from my mom and her sister. Who knew! Thanks for letting me know. I’ll tell my kids to sell them when I die 😂👏🏻
