Great piece. I have fond memories of playing this under the composer’s direction some 30 odd years ago. I still remember the rest of the program: Scheherazade and Mendelssohn Piano Concerto #1.
I’m only 6 mins in and I have to comment already on how much this piece has gripped me! It’s great!
Wow.... reading today about Mr. Gunther Schuller's life and his contributions, from New England Conservatory. Did you know Mr Schuller implemented the first degree-granting Jazz program in a purely Classical conservatory, in 1969 ? He formalizes NEC’s commitment to jazz in 1969 !
Thanks for posting. Lovely work.
Just amazing. Thank you!

Great music! Can we have the Sheet music of the first piece Antike Harmonien (Antik Armoniler)? Thx
Wonderful!!!
... interessante meditative Komponistionen zu Paul Klees feinsinnigen Bildern; vgl. auch YT: Klebe: Die Zwitschermaschine...
Does anyone else find it kind of frightening?
Not me. I find fascinating, constantly reinventing itself.
@@tonysienzant6717not mutually exclusive
The only thing out of Schuller's huge catalogue that gets played, an interesting attempt to write somewhat lightweight 12-tone music.
I think you're missing the point. Stop hearing music in terms of "isms."
Stop telling me how to think.@@tonysienzant6717
