@@LordDickens-xu5jw Yes,I think it's likely he means the composer of the music in the video he's adding his comment to? So not as wild a guess as you may have imagined!
@@LordDickens-xu5jw maybe-but he's not a name like Beethoven or Bach or Mozart that nearly everyone would be familiar with. He was unknown to me until I saw one of his videos on my phone while I was looking for more pieces by another Japanese composer Yoshimatsu.(Coz I've long thought the last movement of his Piano Concerto "Memo Flora" was one of the best pieces I'd found).
This is crazy I was playing one of your videos and lay on bed, then I felt asleep and dreamed for about 1 hours, the playlist kept on playing. I only remember the end of the dream now where I was running with my cousin, we were chased by some people I don't know why. We are running in his hometown where I used to go with my family to visit him when I was young. While we were running I saw one of the old telephone boots which are now completely nowhere to be found. When I saw this telephone boot I screamed to him "NOSTALGIA!", then I woke up. I was about to reach my computer to turn off the music and realized the current video title was Nostalghia. I am really surprised. Now I have the actual certainty that (classical) music is not just about trying to order sounds together to create something beautiful and apply a random title just to finalise it. These artists are really listening to their inner voice and using instruments to express thoughts and memories on the outside. Clearly this one entered in my dream and have talked to me about Nostalgia.
It is weird ,but the same musical work played even by the same musician always sounds better in european setting. In North America always there is something somewaht vulgar ,even in the most carefully crafted settings. No one knows why happens this, but surely this overall eery and harsh north american landscape is one of the reasons.
We can hear a very subtle interplay between the violin solo and the string orchestra. This is a noticeable exception in Takemitsu's works. Takemitsu LOVES the subtle merging/opposition of quite different sonorities (instruments/groups). The harmony is led by synthetic modes, as most often in Takemitsu's works.❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🧡💛💚💜🤎💜💚💛🧡❤❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹
The whole of this sound architecture is a flight into the Sublime. It's a very beautiful music played with exceptional skill and an impressive inner feeling. A delightful listening and therapeutic experience

Precise and beautiful performance of this somewhat mysterious concerto with silky sound of the violin solo and perfectly corresponding sound of the other instruments. The brilliant Maestro directs the compact and excellent ensemble in a ell-phrased tempo with effectively controlled dynamics. Truly fascinating!
Echt faszinierend!
I think he loves Mahler and alban berg, The effect of Mahler 9 is obvious , But very beautiful and true indeed It shows emptiness, fear, The end of era, greed, anything, World war , Hysteria...anything

Beautiful, very reminiscent of Berg, but still with its own character and imagery, agreed there. Which language is the spelling of the title from, Italian?
Wonderful... Anyone have/know where I can hear a recording of Spectral Canticle, his double concerto for violin, guitar, and orchestra? Can't find it anywhere
Manuel Martínez Fraga te recomiendo el disco de Yolanda Kondonassis interpretando a takemitsu y debussy. Increíble interpretación y muy buena selección de obras
Several years ago, I've found some scores here in Japan. Have you ever heard his "Ran"? If not yet, please go find it! It's literally beautiful! P.S. I wish you could listen to "Hote (巨火)" which was composed by Minoru MIKI.
Beautiful interpretation, but the piece is imitation Berg. I find that Takemitsu explores and is successful in all types of genres of classical music, but I'm still looking for his personal, pieces that reflect his inner self. Does he have one?
His 5 solo guitar works are extremely unique in the repertoire. From different time periods as well: 1974, 1988, 1991, 1993, 1995 (if I remember correctly).
I am loving this composer more and more

I am going to see this performed by Anne-Sophie Mutter tonight and tomorrow at Boston Symphony Hall! It is so beautiful.

É extremamente lindo mesmo. Agradeço este canal por me proporcionar uma incrível variedade de grandes compositores como este.
Surely im not the first to hear the sound of berg (especially the violin concerto) moving through this, but made takemitsus own voice
Also reminds me of Samuel Barber.
Yeah, this piece is particularly romantic, expressively speaking. Berg also
Un músico maravilloso 👏👏👏
This symphony harms my ears with delicious melodies.
Harm is not a fitting word for a so heavenly work. It soothes so wonderfuly the ears of the careful listeners.
A direct descendent of the Berg Violin Concerto. It has the same sensitivity to color and sensuousness. I keep expecting to hear the Bach chorale.....
This is such a brilliant piece of music head and shoulders above some of his other works.
All his musical worls sound heavenly !!!
and a fantastic performance !

it sounds very much like variations around wagner's tristan and isolde opening

Beautiful music of space and time; simplicity, life, loss, uncertainty, and understated sensibilities.
I only understand the world through pop culture references, so this reminds me of Dead Space 2.
