Those conditions aren't present in any developed country, so creating a super-platform there would likely take either a very long period of sustained growth - with the platform being unprofitable for much of it as it took onto each segment's market leader - or a round of consolidation so big it should trigger anti-monopoly proceedings in most countries around the world.

This was fascinating purely to see the sheer number the word ‘Twitter’ was said. Hammering home the failure Musk made changing the platforms name to X. The fact we are still seeing the majority of articles using the term ‘formerly known as Twitter.’ I left Twitter just before the name change. It was feeling toxic and I wasn’t seeing the content i used. I am hopeful it can return to whst it was once.

To be honest, we could sit here all day and legitimately criticise any of the American platforms including X, Meta, RUclips and whomever. However, what really needs to happen is that they are faced with real, viable competition from another country. TikTok is an example of a successful platform from another country that has done well internationally, but that comes with all sorts of different issues and controversy and in any case, doesn't really compete directly with any of the other platforms. The same also really applies to computers and operating systems that are currently monopolised by American giants such as Microsoft and Apple. Our governments need to be ensuring that our education systems and government incentives and support for tech companies is robust enough and capable enough of inspiring our own respective 'Silicon Valley company equivalents' (for want of a better genre name).

Context is missing a bit, he's talking about the creator getting that, not what the creators' profit is, usually it's around 2-3c per view for YT paid out on the low end, but higher end is 5c+/view (think high CPM stuff), with YT usually doing a 55% cut of the revenue. If you google how much an add costs on YT, it's 10-30c per view for the business.

You don't get 10 cents for every viewer....rather a small fraction of a cent. If he got 10 cents a view he would be a billionaire many times over. Are we sure this guy is an expert??
Context is missing a bit, he's talking about the creator getting that, not what the creators' profit is, usually it's around 2-3c per view for YT paid out on the low end, but higher end is 5c+/view (think high CPM stuff), with YT usually doing a 55% cut of the revenue.
If you google how much an add costs on YT, it's 10-30c per view for the business.
@@Masterrunescapeer Your math is a little off. An usual creator RPM is about $3. That means $3/1000 views or 0.3 cents/view and not 3 cents/view. 10 cents /view would equal and RPM of $100/1000 views.

As a result, he was forced to pay almost double twitter's market cap at the time of the sale. Now it's worth almost 1/4 of what he paid.
So how he planned to pay his investors back,by running a “scam” company?

A stunning number of blue ticks when i browsw my feed and comments now, indicating huge increase in subscribers. I wonder why?? I wonder if that is positive for income??? Spolier alert... it is!! When i joined X in Nov 2022, almost no one was a subscriber. I think this is probably a significant change!!
