As Mayor of Hamburg, now chancellor Olaf Scholz had been involved in some doubtful dealings around the Warburg private bank. Upon being questioned in court, he couldn’t remember relevant details… Stefanie Bremer is naive. „When the majority decides, the minority has to go along with it.“ That’s the theory. Very important to mention that when a company or corporation have a surplus, it can make a foundation allocate part of the surplus to the foundation and thus be taxexempt for the amount of the surplus paid to the foundation. The same is true for individuals. The problem is the legal framework that regulate foundations because the foundations decide what happens to this money. Here in Denmark I can chose to make "donations" out of my salary to my own foundation or an existing foundation. The amount I donate reduces my taxable income by the same amount. The foundation does not get taxed on my donation as taxable income and is free to decide what to do with all these donations. Same thing for corporations and companies for their taxable income.
Its funny that at 11:45 the Mayor explains how a project can function but completely "forgets" what its function actually is. Its like that building a larger stadium is a sort of goal in itself, whch is really weird of course when you take a few seconds to think about it. Therefore it is obvious he tries to obfuscate the motives of the wealthy investor. The real fans themselves usually dont even like a new stadium, they like the old one because of the memories, history and their regular spot with their regular mates. And the city itself wont make any money from it because of al the extra infrastructure they need to build around the complex to deal with increased traffic and so on.
As always I really appreciate DW taking the time to research and bring forward the findings of such relevant topics . Thank you again.

Governments need to run like companies, mindful of incomes and expenses. It is not a wealthy donor who determines who 'has' or 'has not' with respect to things such as education. Non-critical management of resources is the fault - discretionary expenses should not be part of a core education, for example.
Nice work, DW!
Thanks for watching!
40:00 I like how the interviewer asks a loaded question and the woman is just happy the rich people are donating their money. You can see some bias here from DW.
More than we could even imagine!
omg...if I'm not mistaken... kiel just got promoted to bundesliga. this promotions fits like a perfect excuse in favour of the pharaonic expansion of the stadium.
That is real good investigative journalism. I think there plenty stories about the superrich to be uncovered
Hated how the school authorities were groveling to the rich man 🙄
All power in society rest with the people. Regardless of who is in power and what kind of government exists at the moment.
And this is what the public doesnt understand therefore no revolting can happen they are afraid of those is "power"
Every single politician is their puppet.
I come from a 3rd world / developing country and now a German taxpayer and I just want to say to all German taxpayers that you have no idea how blessed you are to have dedicated guardians of the money you give to the government. To be able to question the rich and challenge the credibility of the government is something you should not take for granted. Excellent journalism!
Super rich people aren't a problem per se as long as they also care about the interests of their communities, their fellow countrymen and their nation-states. It's another story with the international ruling class of super rich (central) bankers though...
The rich don't care.
I put thumbs up for u both
If they did care, then they wouldn’t be super rich.
The super rich, are part of that ruling class cabal, that's wants to eliminate billions, more for pleasure, than anything else!
@@yasin4151totally!! I think “caring super rich” is what’s commonly called an ‘oxymoron’ 😂
They can change the policies of countries
MIC are good example
Very interesting topic.
A documentary on this topic has never been done so well before.
So hats off DW, 🙏.
Yes, rich, money and power are interrelated.
Many people saying that rich people not only influences, but also control System.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching and for your positive feedback!
Governments mismanage public funds.
Stop seeking wealth and go after a beautiful life. Wealthy people have always destroyed life.
u can't live a beautiful life if you can't afford basic shit like a place to live
@@alf3071 That's why you should do what you can to support those that fight for a society with a shorter work week, welfare or something better like UBI, free education, healthcare, those that fight for the right of everyone to have enough to get food and a table to put it on, etc.. By being greedy in a narrow sense chances are you'll do nothing but make yourself and mostly everyone else worse off and the few other greedy ones even richer and more successful in a narrow and empty sense.
Like you much Dw,for the fantastic stories about world rich and wealth documentaries
In western society rich equals good and dedicated; and the poor bad and lazy. Money is the God. Look at our Christian churches, rich and political, nothing about spirituality!
Always was.
This video assumes that politicians are not the corrupt ones
Can they confirm politicians be spending money responsibly?
Ask this question to it's ppl ,at the anual WEF meeting in Davos
The Republic should be read in every highschool.
How come every rich person. argues "I allow myself spend 2 hours every day to do leisure"? I bet he actually works a couple hours a day.
Well, you know, he takes a peek at how his stocks are doing, and that’s “work” lol
I bet you have no idea how much people like them work...
Massage is code for drinking blood to stay younger for longer 😂
Somewhat true for the ones who inherited wealth from their family with a silver spoon. The problem is entrepreneurs who started with nothing and worked like crazy to hand over another silver spoon. If was lucky to be a millionaire or billionaire, I'd just leave my kids with enough money to go to college, have a car, buy a house, and get married, All my assets would go into a fund that ensures all the generations that follow receive an equivalent amount but the rest will go into charities. I'm not raising spoiled brats.
That guy, Jurgen Hunke's description of how he became rich was a gross oversimplification. "For 40 years I've been getting up at 5am and workout for 2 hours" he says as if that explains why he is so wealthy failing to talk about his upbringing, education, connections and ignoring the many people who wake up early everyday to barely get buy and work until they die.
As Mayor of Hamburg, now chancellor Olaf Scholz had been involved in some doubtful dealings around the Warburg private bank. Upon being questioned in court, he couldn’t remember relevant details…
Stefanie Bremer is naive. „When the majority decides, the minority has to go along with it.“ That’s the theory. In reality, politics are influenced to not being harsh on those with money and power. If not with direct favors, with the scare of simply moving their business abroad at the cost of a loss of employment and taxes
Yey another cool documentary
I’m not sure they could get this kind of access in America. Also an informative doc like this would never be funded. Well done DW more of this please
Excellent job DW
Using tax payers money to expand a football stadium is actually outragous.
It was a wonderful documentary shared by an excellent ( DW) channel. Documentary about the reality of Melionners, residents' taxes, and states directory of residence taxes for the financial interests of Gaint companies projects owned by German Melionners. It's a new feudalism and oligarch system wavering around the world 🌎 after the USSR collapsed
Was this written by an AI?
Feudalism? Not really. Listen to Italian fascist Benito Mussolini what it is: "Fascism is the merger of state and economy!"
The golden rule . The one with the gold makes the rules.
Hamburg politics is an inch away from communism
I think you mean Feudalism, where a small wealthy elite makes the rules for everyone else. ;)
Ecclesiastes 5:10-13 Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness❤
30:55 - 32:10
That was intense. Hard journalism. 🤭
Getting rich is one of my goals this year, I want to influence people to actually do good.
