WE Mauser M712 GBB Review [Airsoft]

- A review of the WE M712 gas pistol. I missed out a few things in the review, an important one being that the magazines are NOT compatible with any other Mauser, including the Marushin the gun is based on. Also excuse my incorrect terminology (at times), if I say slide I mean bolt.
The chinese marking on that pistol is "自來得手槍"
And the one using this gun is Republic of China in world war II

Johnny Yu no they used the g196 not this
Fanastic review. I agree that WE has really stepped up their game in recent years, making full-metal versions of rare japanese guns I've ALWAYS wanted to get my hands on.
Absolutely, can't wait to see what they bring out next! (except those double guns..)
I'd love for you to do a review on their new Desert Eagle when it comes out. Still not clear on when exactly they're releasing it...
@@ApurtureSci @ApurtureSci @ApurtureSci what is the " forum" that you said you bought it on?
On the subject of the noisy shoulder stock, I managed to fix it: take out the flathead screw on the stock, the dovetail mount should come off. Take out the spring that's pushing the release button, carefully stretch it a bit. Put it back and and reassemble the shoulderstock. Now it's almost noise free :D
2:40 “I got to get rid of the cat” 😿
Excellent in-depth review. This helped me make up my mind and order one. It's going to look great with my Finnish and Swiss inspired 1940's loadout. :)
Very interesting you should say that, I've had some Swedish (I guess not Swiss) 1940s pants that were given to me from my grandfather (I don't know where he got them), I bought a gray wool tunic to match them, and I bought a Finnish M36 hat that fits nicely with the look! Now I'm really wanting to finish the look with a Finnish or German wool greatcoat, helmet, some face protection (gas mask or leather-chain mail mask) and either an airsoft setup like this, or the Luger P08 Artillerie with stock and drum magazine... I don't know which would be better 😂
Considering that I'm watching the review to look for a pistol for my fallout loadout, the Chinese markings are prefect
Doing the same dude, just got into airsoft, ordered myself a Glock for the moment but my next pistol will be something from fallout... just can't decide wether to get a 9mm (Hi browning) 45. (1911) or this.
@@PLOTBLOCK if you are interested in revolvers the asg schofield mimics the 38.revolver from fallout 3 quite well
I love my M712. It's perfectly skirmish-able, even in the woods. Long range, good accuracy with 0,28. I use the stock as intended, it turns it into a little carbine. If you put a rag in the plastic stock to muffle the resonation it works like a charm. Had to get soft face protection though, the stock is quite high.
Oh, and I painted a little white mark on that huge front post for better target acquisition against dark background. It is a +100 year-old design after all : )
Wonderfully detailed review of the WE M712! One of the first in-depth English reviews I've found. It seems like more recently WE has been producing a lot of cool and unique GBBs on the market. Very excited for the GBB Thompson and Colt Junior. It's good to see WE improving over the years as I remember seeing many negative points back then.
I've actually ordered a WE M712 carbine and can't wait to receive it. It's pretty cool if you've seen it.
On eHobbyAsia, I saw a WE M712 with no markings.
Thanks again for the review!
leavingtheworldinawe Thanks for watching ! I really want the carbine too, please let me know how the stock feels, hopefully more solid than the holster/stock on the pistol.
I have received the WE M712 carbine. The stock definitely feels sturdy, little to no flex. The paint finish on the barrel and receiver is pretty good. A little wear on the bolt and the part where the stock attaches but nothing too bad. The front end is firm, very little rattle when shaken. Out of the box, the stock on the other hand is quite loud with the sling attachment point shaking around. The only thing that I found might be annoying to some is a slight bit of play where the stock attaches on to the main gun. Slight wobble but can't really be felt when shouldering the gun. That's about it. I personally really like it and am happy to own it. :D
Also, the one I got doesn't have the markings yours has, but instead N and R on the selector similar to real steel from what I saw.
@@ApurtureSci what is the " forum" that you said you bought it on?
thanks for making this, i've been waiting long and patiently for a good review of this piece.
No problem, thanks for watching! :)
A few years ago I had an HFC M712 (the only C-96/M712 I could find at the time) and had a similar issue with those same red 9 grips. Just like yours, they wouldn't fit as-is so I had to cut a notch into them as well as some shaping to get them on. Also you guessed, a real stock wouldnt fit the notch either. Gotta also agree with you on perefering a proper C-96 (only semi, flush mag) over an M-712, would love to own an authentic if prices weren't so high.
Really wish they'd have made this model at the time, seems better all around than the NBB HFC I owned. Great review
the chinese marking says automatic pistol, in a way thats not being said anymore.
Someone should make a red nine world war 1 edition where you load the bbs in from the top with a speed loader.
Not gonna lie, that actually sounds dope af.
They should release both a mauser and a luger that would be badass
@@Glenn-kc5eu there are airsoft lugers by WE and KWC
@@YoChocolate ik I was saying they should release number 9 versions of both the mauser and the luger its not as well known as the mauser but a number 9 full auto prototype luger did exist
@@YoChocolate what I was thinking is if they could make a full auto luger compatible with the we snail mags it would be pretty awesome
Mauser didnt make a full auto version until 1930, being one of the last manufacturers of their own gun to do so. The Chinese markings are because this is an airsoft replica of a Chinese built Mauser. Very clever and a part of the guns history.
I just picked up a KWC M712. And great video as always.
ReggaeDubSoundSystem Is it good or should I get this?
Its a great gun to be honest. Nice weighty feel to it. I dont skirmish whatsoever, I just tend to collect "realistic" airsoft pistols.
The We Tech Version is better because it is more realistic and it hasn't such a high Joule power
Nice to see you're still alive
Crytech I appreciate the concern!
Hi Alex, I had a few questions about which pistol I should look into getting, I was wondering do you have a Discord or Skype or somewhere it's easy to have a quick conversation? Cheers.
ApurtureSci xtreme .45 tm plz
Hi, I don't have either of those but feel free to add me on Facebook (facebook.com/alex.pritchett.7), message me on Instagram (pritchettalex) or we can just message on here.
The most elegant pistol ever created.
They've changed up the paint finish on that! my early one (pretty much one of the first into the UK) is super black and doesn't have any grain so to speak in the metal.
23:39
im getting this one XD
Nice content! Keep it up!
Thanks!
I'd say, fill the entire stock with something like foam or something a bit more solid.
Big fan of your in depth reviews! Hope that you can review the HK 45 soon.
Thanks! I don't know why I didn't review the TM HK45 when I had one. Good pistol but sold it a while back.
Make more vids I think your channel is a good example of a non American gun channel cheers from new Zealand
It may not be the most battlefield effective gun but rolling up to a game with that badboy and the stock would make you look pretty baller
Makes you like a Chinese warlord
Ps. Remember to shoot it 90 degrees horizontally
I am in love with this.
Definitely getting this and dropping my UKA G12
0:28 very Good pronounciation 👍🏻
I m from Germany
Quite been some time but its supposed to wiggle like that, the real counter part had the whole barrel travel backwards
Perfect review video mate, thank you!
I agree that the selecter looks bad, on the real c96 there's this milled rectangle that just looks good.
Idea, instead of swapping mags, wait until you're empty for the slide to lock back, then use a speedloader to refill the internal mag.
It sounds reasonable and I need someone to try this.
It doesn't really work, the bbs are meant to enter the feed lips from the front, not the top. You can force one or two in through the top but I don't think the feed lips would last long
@@ApurtureSci damn it, that would have been real icing on the cake if it worked. Thanks for responding m8.
Old reply but there are 3d printed ones now.
@@ApurtureSci @ApurtureSci @ApurtureSci @ApurtureSci what is the " forum" that you said you bought it on?
Ahh the Mauser c96 my most favourite pistol ever
got one of these too when first came out, it lacks all marking aside from fire select and safety
That's a shame about the Marushin falling to bits. The carbines were always cool. This WE does look like a nice piece, however. The grip always looked so horribly uncomfortable to me.
Nice review as always! Any other upcoming reviews? And do you know(probably unlikely) if the Beretta 84 can be fitted real/original wood grips? Thanks for your rare but awesome reviews!
Jakob Brink Yes, next ones will be the WE Apache MP5SD and VFC FNX45. I don't know for sure about the Beretta, but the WA that it is based on takes real grips so I think it's quite likely they would fit.
Ok, thanks. Im planning on making a fancy custom 84, since the version you have is very hard to come by.
@@ApurtureSci @ApurtureSci what is the " forum" that you said you bought it on?
Anyone know where i can see assembly tutorial for this model? My stupid brother dissasembly it proudly and i can't reasssembly it
I'm pretty sure those markings are the Kuomintang gun markings. These guns were popular in China during the 1930-40s.
GoldenNugget Yes you're right, the markings match Chinese-made Mauser copies made in the 1930s and 40s.
I'm starting a World War II airsoft collection after I get a job in this is one of the things on my list.
Did u get a job
@@t72oftruth66 not yet, things kept getting on my way, then this pandemic started... So yeah...
@@callsignbard6655 i thought after a year you would
@@t72oftruth66 so did I buddy... So did I...
IT DOES NOT COME BACK TOGETHER! PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON THAT!
I beleave the Chinese made copy's of this gun so the markings could be correct
Well you could for the stock you could go get a real reproduction stock replace the spring mechanisms in the reproduction to have a good stock
Nice review!!!!!
I was more of thinking of trying to attach it to a rifle and pulling out the Mauser if I run out.
Nice review thinking of getting one or the AW custom one for a Star Wars loadout
I think the wiggle is to replicate the short recoil barrel movement
I don't think so. It's just because the upper and barrel are separate components and need to be able to move slightly for disassembly.
I'm trying to build a world war airsoft loadout and I wanted a semiauto c96 (the german original replica for airsoft of the one used by the Germans in war) and if possible with the short mag that fits well but I can't find it anywhere I don't want a full auto Spanish Korea thing you know? (Because if i find a good one it is an original REAL gun which i don't want i want an airsoft one) you guys are my last hope :/
Use the M712 in semi only and try and sand off the Chinese lettering to make it look more yknow accurate lol hope this works for u
You could remove the full auto option either have a short mag or remove the detachable mag completely so you can accurately load it from the top with some sort of airsoft clip.
Or get it from a German shop since you can't have full auto in Germany for airsoft.
LOL. You cat will be a yt Star like my cat "Robert" :-) nice Review thx
BB2K Airsoft Haha if he is lucky. Thanks, means a lot coming from you, your reviews are very professional.
ApurtureSci Thank You
Every time I see this gun, it always reminds me of DL-44 Blaster from star wars cuz it is inspired from this gun
I can identify 4/5 characters, read from L to R : automatic ... hand gun . I cannot identify the middle word. It looks like Chinese, but Japanese Kanji are exactly the same. If it is made in Taiwan/China then it is Chinese
Love the vid you should do an airsoft collection so people can see what you have still
BunzoReviews It's definitely not all that impressive, but yeah I might do a collection video one day.
How well does this gun age to your opinion? Is het prone to break down, since there is this 'you get what you pay for'
Are you a mecanical engineer or a technician? You seem to know a lot about tolerances and finishing
I currently manufacture and calibrate inspection gauges at a precision engineering company, I've been in the industry for about 5 years now. I'm actually starting university this year to become more qualified as an 'actual' engineer. Thanks for watching!
would you be interested in purchasing 2 tanaka revolvers? (im in the US)
Thought the cat was doing the review!
The cat stole the show.
Man i really want this airsoft, but it cost so much like if i get this i would be REALLY happy
guess mine is a different We tech M712 as on the one i got it lacks the characters on the frame all it has is N and R
What did he mean by ”getting rid of the cat”!!??
The originals were often made in China so the markings are historically appropriate
About the finnish of your M-712, and P-38, be sure that from real steel I've seen in both cases, the blueing of these replicas, its quite acurate to the real thing!! P-38 was my side arm at the army even in 1985/6, and in portuguese museums, I saw some C-96, and I handled 2.
hey I'm just curious, does it still work in 2020 or has it broken?
Good question.
I'm afraid I sold it some time ago with the rest of my collection
@@ApurtureSci that's a shame :/ do you think it would break easily though? I love the mauser c96 and m712 (a lot)
@@oddpony9254 It has a fairly complex mechanism and there are parts that will probably wear out if you shoot it a lot, although in the time I owned mine nothing broke. But, and I think this the important bit, WE spare parts are very cheap and easy to get if anything goes wrong. Also, the gun is far more durable than the horrible Marushin one with is your only other GBB Mauser option. Go for it!
@@ApurtureSci thanks for the advice! now I'm definitely getting one
What is price of this bro
The traditional chinese marked on pistol means automatic pistol
Will the packing include a blank fire adapter that prevents the trigger lock engaging?
On the real thing, the whole slide doesn't move all the way either. It's a realistic replica. Check out Forgotten Weapon's video on the schnellfeuer.
Ja Kooistra Yes I know, but it does move back enough to unlock the bolt. On this replica the slide/upper is fixed and doesn't move at all when shooting.

nice review,, but im wondering if u have a GBBR why didnt u review it?
Irwan Noerdin Do you mean the WE MP5? I only got it recently, will review soon.
niccceeee... will waited for the review... if APACHE Series system is better than the VFC umarex MP5 series GBB than i will go for the APACHE...
Irwan Noerdin I haven't used the VFC, but I am definitely impressed with the Apache.
Does it have a threaded barrel?
Mine came with a little metal piece with an arrow on both sides and a metal ring. what are these for?
Where did you buy it from
24:00 disassembly
If anybody can confirm the markings is accurate that will be nice maybe its kuomintang marking or something, other than dissapointing stock its quite good would want to buy, in all 10/10 review and would like to pet that cat
Stalker RK 44 I would also like to know what the markings mean. The stock isn't great, but if you want an airsoft Mauser this is definitely the one to get.
All I know is that bow and arrow seems accurate with the hanyang arsenal markings but I dont know about that roundel also given the fact that its made in Taiwan and also the PPS Chiang Kai-Shek Airsoft Rifle having the same bow and arrow AND the fact that the Chinese loves the mauser its possibly accurate to the Chinese ones, not as cool as the Mauser markings but hey its a marking
Stalker RK 44 What I would love is for a company to make a new frame that is semi auto only (no selector), takes real grips and stocks and has Mauser markings.
@@ApurtureSci Hello, did you find out what the markings on the maser mean? I learned that he belonged to Dai Li, but I do not know to which unit or division.
if the gun isnt early british or american the range markings are usually meters.
Awesome, dans one
What kind of gas does it use?
Where did you get your holster from? where did you order your holster?
It came with the pistol
Can anyone actually confirm is a real C96 stock would fit this? I really want to buy the german marking version of this gun, alongside a reproduction wooden shoulder stock. Would appreciate a reply.
You ever found an answer
Hold on we tech is making airsoft revolvers
watched it yet?
where can I buy one?
show assembly and dessimbly of this pistol
If you buy it new I'm pretty sure you can get no markings
This gun is so cool. I want it so bad
Can you please tell how many grams is this gun
I’m pretty sure the m172 has a longer magazine
This gun comes with the longer mag but I prefer the look of this shorter one.
Shorter mag looks like the more popular c96
Looking for parts for this gun ,could you recommend any sites ,that will save my Mauser ty
kyairsoft have almost every part available for most WE pistols
Y u remove cat?
Can you dampen the fps
Link to get it?
I clicked for the cat. Why did he have to go?? 😢
how many grams is this bb gun
Can the fire selector be removed and permanently put on semi?
Carl Siemens Yes, but it would leave holes in the frame.
How powerful is it?
Do you think I can replace the grips with my own wood ones?
History Central If you buy ones that are made for the real gun they will need a lot of modification. Maybe look for ones made for the Marushin m712?
Were you using the AW Custom M712 mag?
you're1hellOfaBastard Yeah I think it was branded as a mag for the AW custom Han Solo DL44 blaster, same thing.
ApurtureSci Oh, I was curious since I noticed the red thing on the mag (I forgot the name.) Thanks for the response and keep up the work.
@@ApurtureSci I wish some manufacturer would make an airsoft C96 with an internal magazine that you load from the top, so that it's actually a C96.
Xtreme .45 TM next please
I can't see myself buying one to be honest, it doesn't appeal to me much.
The would holster shoulder stock from the real one fits the WeTec Mauser
Does anyone know where this is available in Canada?

1:10 AWWWWWW KITTY!!! 😍😍😍
the m712 is the same thing as the c96 but full auto
There also some big differences like ones fed by detachable mags and ones fed by clips also the m712 has a shorter barrel and some different systems inside.
