      There's a reason why China car manufacturers sell more than established makes. It's because their government subsidizes their manufacturing operations and their workers are on much lower pay so they can undercut manufacturers outside China. Just like they've done in many other industries like steelmaking, tool making, electronics, clothing and textiles. You think it's great that you're getting cheap cars from China but trust me everything comes at a price. It'll further weaken your country's ability to self sustain. China and Beijing will be running your country not Washington.

    • @ericma3768
      @ericma3768 Месяц назад +1

      @@jamessmyth5949 You do realized that Robot do most of the works right? This is not 1990s. The reason Chinese are payed lower is because the cost of living there is also cheaper. For example, an apple cost 1-2 dollar in United State, right! Then an apple in china cost 1 Yuan price. A dollar is 1:7 to Yuan but the the living cost almost the same. And your correct for the last parts, GETTING cheap cars from China comes at a price. It'll further weaken the country's ability to self sustain. And that's why sanction existed, but the consequences is any country that doesn't have a electric car industry, United Stated will be no match with China under the market.

    • @jamessmyth5949
      @jamessmyth5949 Месяц назад

      @ericma3768 Oh yeah the Chinese robots have arms and legs and they also breathe lol. No the reason Chinese workers are paid lower is because they're being exploited under their regime. China is out to become the world superpower and control the economy of other countries like Australia and the USA by controlling the manufacture of all products. Once other countries are no longer able to manufacture and they become reliant on China then China will pull the strings as it sees fit. Countries can impose all the tariffs they like, that will make no difference to China because they control the manufacture and they will just impose tariffs of their own or use sanctions like what happened last time when they banned the import of many imported products like wine and seafoods.

      China's EV prowess is government sponsored.
      For China it makes sense. China has a government directed electric grid and massive coal deposits that make electric generation cheap. They also have very low oil reserves so the move away from oil is good for them.

    @Sam this concludes that people prefer high quality cars with better technology and build quality rather than legacy brands. I have a Jaguar xf, a Volkswagen polo, Volkswagen jetta, Toyota fortuner, Toyota Innova and a Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid. Of all the cars I love my Volkswagens and the Toyotas but at present times these brands compared to the Chinese automakers provide nothing in terms of value. The Xiaomi SU7 is a prime example of value for money proposition.
    RIP European luxury brands. Earlier people used to buy the German trio just because of the quality and performance when they were using ICE Engines. Now the cars are powered with electric motors and even the budget brands can provide high performance electric motors at a very affordable price point. China brands like Denza and Zeekr are making more luxurious family minivans than Europe.
    I don’t think I would opt for a Mercedes against a Zeekr.

You can't park in a parking garage, you can't insure them, or at least the prmium is very high. Repais are slow, dealers are few and far inbetween. Charging costs are as high as fossil, or higher. Solar charging doesn't work because of lack of sunshine hours. So in short, the cars are great, everything else is bad. So people stck to their old car until that car is prohibited on the road.

With those gone (as well as the financial bath those manufacturers are going to take from writing down their now-useless Chinese factories), it'll be a massive financial hit on these companies, many of which carry a lot of debt. And don't expect the Chinese manufacturers to just stay in Asia. In time they'll flood western countries with cheap, high-quality EVs that the legacy manufacturers can't compete with, and won't have the financial resources to develop a response for.

    In Canada above 49 degrees latitude, for 6 mo. through winter solar capacity factor averages 3%. In December 1% or less. 744 hours in December. Intermittent, low angle sun, bad weather, snow it makes equivalent full power for maybe 8 hours in the month. Where do you think our winter power will come from the other 95% of the time? You live where the sun does shine, you forget about where it doesn't and keep pumping this pro EV, unfortunatly those who don't understand buy in and we spend millions if not billions on something that can't work for us.
