A clear reflection of the love that they put into this game. They could have filled this video with ads every 30 seconds and make lot of money. But we are in front of a game and a development team that went above and beyond in the gaming industry. In Cory we trust.
Hanchock Elias what @charli said. You tend to try and make money off your hard efforts like editing a two hour video for example. So the fact that it’s free = different.
If single player games die, they might as well stop producing physical games and go straight digital because I wont be buying games anymore anyway if no single player
Why do you people keep making this point? Single player games were never going anywhere, you just invented this narrative so you can post loudly about how you're a "true gamer" that plays single player games. They aren't going anywhere, and nobody cares about your preference. They've literally never been threatened as a genre, never.
“This performance is a love letter to my kids... and it’s an apology.” Wow, that hit hard. Cory really found the best person for the role but as a performer but as a human being. Chris Judge seems like a very fun yet down to earth guy.
After the PC release today, I came back to watch this to remind myself that some dev teams still care about what they put out, passion projects still exist and they always will
Same here, I just wanted to say that nearly every studio cares what they put out, it's just that sometimes they run out of money, or time, or publishers push them in the wrong directions.
I wish they kept that recording of it in the game instead of re-recording his vocals for it in-studio. The breaking in his voice would've made that scene so much more meaningful to what he's doing.
Single Player. Amazing Story. Amazing Characters. Amazing OST. No microtransactions. No DLC. This is a real game. And many of us will always remember it as one of the best games in history. Thanks to all of you involved.
Sony, you HAVE to make another of these for Ragnarok. I've watched this thing so many times since it was released and it never gets old. Such an amazing look behind the scenes, and just seeing the reality of everything that goes into making the game has been beautiful. My heart goes out to the whole team for so many reasons, and I for one am deeply grateful for the amazing work of art that they created, but especially for the extraordinary sacrifices made in order to bring this to us all. You all are incredible.
Ragnarok was made during the pandemic, so you wouldn’t see the same stuff that was shown in this documentary. The majority of Ragnarok was developed at home
No, I think ugly was the right word there. I watched this doc from beginning to end, and I was actually shocked at a couple points. People lost their tempers, broke down in tears, said things out loud that I never expected people to say on such a massive, successful project. Game dev is an all-consuming job, and even if it sounds obvious on paper, the fact this documentary was honest about all of it - the highs, the lows, the messy parts, the arguments - is valuable.
I didn't see any detailed hardships, controversies, troubles, debates between employers in this documentary film. I saw just rise from a failure (GOW ascention & INT7) . but it was great though. just a saying of successful game . that's all
@@Thai101full Same, it's my favourite game on ps4, but still, 94 is not a bad number and that not totally show the game quality; you like it or not, it's your choice
At 1:32:04 you can literally see a tear go down Christopher Judge's face while his lip trembles... He wasn't even acting for most of these scenes, he was creating a feeling and living it out in real life. That's the difference between an INCREDIBLE actor and someone who's just acting.
They did the scene couple of times after which Christopher asked to take a break because he was so into it that he could not take it anymore. after that, well, I don't remember exactly, but I believe it was Cory who said to give this man a break, that they're "killing him." He is one of the greatest actors of all time. That is one of the reason we love Kratos so much.
I completely agree. Most companies nowadays are always playing it safe, no new innovations, rely on franchises and big names, try to appeal to the biggest audience but what it results in is the complete lack of great new ips that this industry buids on. Which is why GoW 2018 still stands out as one of the greatest achievements in video game history; it was bold, it was daring and incredible risky and that's why it stands out of most games today.
For all those gaming company who thinks that making a video game is easy buck via micro-transaction, pay-to-win, subpar content, no single-player story telling, etc. Here's a perfect example on how a game should really be done, with love, care, dedication, and chopping down trees Thank you from the bottom of my heart Cory and Santa Monica crew.
You're not entirely wrong. But you are missing a very key factor. Santa Monica had A LOT of money to make this game. There are only a handful of studios that have the opportunity to fund a team that large for that long of a period without incoming revenue. So everyone else has to make do with what they have and make enough money to keep going afterwards. They did a fantastic job in the end, but I'm sure if you gave every studio out there this kind of cash you would see a lot more top tier games like this. But that's such a big risk, that you will only see it very rarely and usually with publisher funded titles like this.
1:49:08 for those who wonders. My favorite moment in the whole video. A sudden realization that everything you worked so hard turns out to be worth it.
I've got a rather long and rambly post on Cory's video getting into the weeds on it.. but in short, I gave up on the GoW series back on 2. Outgrew it a bit (or just got old, depending on your perspective). Stopped caring long ago. It was hard to avoid the buzz & hype & amazing screenshots.. but still didn't really care. Cory's reaction there made me care. Cory's emotional investment sold me, full stop. Bought it two days later. Probably only the second or third game I've bought at launch in a decade.
Because he lied with the demo? I could have sworn there was a section in the video of "Making of..." in wich he admitted that the "Gameplay" Demo was scripted fake and that they didn't even started the programming of the game itself and that they hope that the end result will look like the animation but I watched the video twice now allready and I can't find it, IDK if my brain falls asleep but I can remember that part so clearly like my bank account numbers.
I wanted a close-up on Cory as the crowd cheered Kratos’ reveal at E3. After all his doubt, all his anxiety, what an amazing moment that must have been.
Fav lines 01:09:10 "My mother said, everyone is smarter than you in something. And if you don't figure out what it is and learn from it. That's your fault." 01:29:53 "We've all got our bag of pain...We'll use that one."
As much credit goes to Cory and team, i feel equally deserving is Bear Mcreary for his outstanding music. Tell me you don't get goosebumps listening to the tracks. All in all, the best game that ever is,Boi. I am happy that I own this game and am playing it on my PS4.
1:27:34 I literally cried when Shannon refused to answer. she must have gone through a lot. everyone must've did. you all did a great job and I can't thank you all enough.
I have big respect and admiration for Shannon Studstill, after watching this. She is a really intelligent, competent, strong-willed and positive person. A lot of smart ladies in this video, but she is the center of all of this.
That is so untrue. If you've paid attention to any gaming site in the last 6 months you'd know many of the people making games go through very similar circumstances as these folks did. Its ridiculous and severely naive to say that.
"Kratos is a man of few words, so his theme should be a theme of few notes" - Bear McCreary. It is insane just how MUCH thought, effort and collaborative creativity went into creating this game. Thank you from the bottom of my heart SSM. Please fix the rest mode freeze issue whenever you can.
i really hope more dev studios continue to document their process like this. definitely reminds us of what goes into a "game" - that it's not just a mindless entertainment product, shuffling down a packaging line. it's the end result of a vision, of struggle, of work. it's art.
The emotion from Christopher Judge at 1:32:00 hit me right in the feels. It's almost as if the line "You will always be a monster" hit Judge in a very personal way. Amazing game, amazing actors, amazing story, and an amazing personal connection to everyone who worked on the game can be felt throughout it's entirety. Can't wait for the sequel!
You know the game made an impact on you when you keep watching videos about it way after its release. Just to still take in the masterpiece. This time we saw how truly dedicated Cory was and how everything paid off. Congrats Santa Monica Studios. Kudos
Only bug i ever faced was fighting with sigrun and she just went one level of plane higher in to the air, where she was attacking witht the scythe over my head. But ya it was really smooth otherwise.
THAT'S why I had no hesitation dropping the $150 for the Stone Mason edition. If it wasn't SSM I might have waited and missed out on it. Now I'm just waiting for the next one to go up for pre-order lol
This must be the fourth or fifth time I'm watching it. It's really, really encouraging to see for any person in a creative pursuit. It's important to remember that even people who made one of the best games gaming has to offer had doubts, fears, and struggled to make this vision a reality. Not some cold-blooded masterminds who knew it all right from the start, but people who go through same things everyone else does. Yet threw themselves at what they thought impossible regardless, and exceeded it. In GDC presentation, Cory said he didn't think it will be even remotely close to winning game of the year. But that's what you do. You doubt, fear, struggle, but give it your all anyway. Come failure or success. You'll never know until you get there.
The scenes with Danielle Bisutti and Christopher Judge talking about putting their real life struggles in their characters definitely made me cry. Especially seeing that tear on Christopher Judge's face when Athena tells Kratos he will always be a monster.
@@dequan8169 and this one particular moment at 1:27:33 when Shannon Studstill refused to answer. But the look on her face, her eyes and the way she got choked told everything. Where is the guy that played baldur? I think. He was my favorite part aside from kratos. Also I hope Sony realizes a game director really sets the pace for the games vision. Maybe that's why days gone feels hollow.
Christopher Judge actually crying in the Blades of Chaos scene made me break into tears. That was not just "a moment", it was THE moment for him. Thank you, everyone at Santa Monica Studios, for this unbelievable experience.
Check out the 3-video game play series with Cory Barlog. The 3rd video is his playthrough of The Sickness, where he mentions that Chris got super emotional during his dialogue that, after the second take, he asked Cory for a break because he was getting overwhelmed and wiped out emotionally.
that kid has no idea, how much meaning and joy he indirectly injected into a franchise that might have vanished in the depths of obscurity, if it hadn't been for a bold vision driven by his father, marked with conviction and purpose, resulting in one of the greatest redemptive narratives in modern history...
I intended to watch this in chunks over the weekend, but ended up watching the whole thing in one sitting. This documentary was truely engrossing and did justice to an amazing game. I can't wait for the next one!
I had the same thoughts. Give it a try for 5-10 minutes...and I ended up watching the whole thing. I have never played the game or owned a PS4 but this game makes me thinking buy one PS4 and play it. Such an amazing documentary about such an amazing game. And also the life lessons...I love Christopher J. from Stargate. He still is the nice guy with a big heart.
1:27:29 I feel bad for her and so many devs put into those long hours of work. I know we get amazing games sometimes from it don’t get me wrong. But man you can really see how much the personal sacrifices weighed on her to get this amazing game on time with no bugs
Man hearing Christopher Judge's perspective on the project is honestly one of the most heart felt things ever. I've loved his skills ever since Stargate and hearing how he thought about it and how it affected him and his kids, and how it went into the performance for this game was just, honestly, tear worthy
I’m not a big documentary guy but I’ve watched this a few times and every time I start I can’t stop. I wish every game developer would put something like this together
Knowing how secure both his career and family life are right now.. The man's most likely in a completely sound space. The mans also a young father himself. He's reached amazing success in his career. There's something very fulfilling about this for a man. I see most other insecurities going out the window at this point. Obviously that doesn't rid certain character traits about a person.. -- I guess I just don't see him as being awkward. I think it's more about there being a camera on him. That's probably uncomfortable.
Shannon broke my heart at 1:27:37 , you can clearly see that she sacrificed so much to get the job done. Thank you guys for giving us the experience of a lifetime !
People do not give actors enough credit. “They’re just saying lines and playing pretend, living in a fantasy land and getting paid for it.” We don’t really realize that these people are living and reliving some of their worst moments for our entertainment. It’s just so beautiful and not enough of us are grateful for it. It just makes me sad.
Vinny The Evyll Popcorn it’s fine to appreciate what they do, but as I stated, you don’t have to be “sad”. They’re greatly talented and I respect them but I’m not exactly “sad” for them as the original commentator was.
EA: Single player games are dead. Kratos: Hold my mead. Geralt of Rivia: Hold my potions. Wolf: Hold my sake. Spider-Man: Hold my Pepsi. Joel: Hold my moonshine. Artyom: Hold my mushroom vodka. The Hunter: Hold my blood. Aloy: Wait, what did he just say?!
No EA: u cannot change u will always be a MONSTER! Santa Monica: but I am your monster no longer After that Santa Monica: the cycle ends here we must be better than this.
You can tell how long and how many consecutive days in a row he was at the studio by how matted and greasy his hair was compared to during the press tour where he was actually washed up. I genuinely thank him, his team, Santa Monica as a whole, and PlayStation for this wonderful game. Now it's time for another playthrough.
Corey’s tears are remarkably evocative in this doc. It might be the most evocative moment in the entire special. Pour 5 years of work into something that is nearly destined to fail 9.99999 times out of 10 And succeed. Moving. Deeply so.

I've seen this documentary 4 times so far, I can't stop crying in the parts where Cory Balrog and the other actors and collaborators get sentimental for everything they went through to bring this game to life and as a family Dad I feel so identified with the reason Cory gave for wanting to bring us this game with the theme that Kratos is not only revenge but also a dad, we all deserve that second chance to redeem ourselves from our mistakes as long as we want to do it from the heart, thanks Cory, the whole team at Santa Monica and Playstation for this great work.
I absolutely love Cory Barlog's personality. I love how he's not a formal person and it shows his passion. His personality is probably what makes him both the best and worst kind of person to work for and with but it is absolutely worth it in the end. I love how much he's grown and how it's bled into the game. This is by far one of the greatest games of all time and it will continue to be so. Thank you to all who have worked on this franchise and for making a documentary for it. All the sacrifices and hard work have impacted millions and millions of people in such a wonderful way.
only thing i was disappointed with were the boss fights. there weren't very many and they weren't that great. i found the valkerie fights more fun and intense, i wish the story bosses matched the valkeries in challenge but they all felt too easy in comparison, even in give me gow mode. only story boss i thought was pretty close was magni & modi, the final fight against baldur was pretty lame to me, even the initial baldur fight felt more exciting even if it is more basic.
@@Jack_80 If you watch the NoClip 15 min documentary you can see Cory talking about this, and say he regrets it too; they had a lot of boss battles they wanted to put in the game but they had to cut it to finish the production
@@PaprikaD i still think it's a great game, and one of the rare complete games that didn't even try to weasel us with dlc. they easily could have sold those 2 little optional realms seperately if they wanted, most companies would have.
Just finished watching this film for the third time. Having played through GoW, and half of Ragnarok so far, I have to say my level of appreciation for these developers is immense. The amount of work and passion they have put into this game is very much appreciated!
Just here to say thanks for the transparency in your guys’ development. I wish more studios would learn from you. Excited to see the rest. Love you guys!
We all learn from each other. Our transparency isn't novel, quite a few other behind the scenes videos have preceded us, but we wanted to take our own unique approach, focusing as much on the incredible people at every cornerstone of developing this game.

@@SantaMonicaStudio Don't sell yourselves short. There are *very* few studios that have fostered a culture like you have, and have consistently made games that can be considered to be the greatest games of all time.
This documentary right here just opened my eyes to how difficult it is to undertake a massive project. So many people sacrificing time, energy and personal lives without even knowing what the end result is, the thought just scares me. I hope that each and every person working over there is supported and I wish them Best of Luck on their future endeavours. You have my respect for creating such an engaging and an immersive work of art. Salutes to Santa Monica Studio.

this documentary was FREE??? i would have paid for this one. This game was so amazing! it deserves every reward it got. It has broken the mold of what games should be. This whole game was amazing in so many ways. You could feel the passion that went into this game. I think im gonna play it again just so i can feel those moments from the reactions i saw in the documentary. Thank you Santa Monica Studios. I cant wait for the next one
This is honestly one of the best game dev documentaries I have ever watched. Love the team at Santa Monica Studio, their team chemistry and Cory's comic relief made this very enjoyable to watch. Very inspiring for people like me who want to make great games some day. Hope to see another Doc about Ragnarok (if one was recorded of course).
As a dad, this game spoke to me louder than anything I’ve ever seen, heard, or read. I had no father, and now I aim to be a great one myself, embodying discipline and masculinity. This game truly felt like it was made for me, personal issues, past demons, insecurities, and all. I cannot wait for the story to continue.
@@makasete30 yep, when he said 10 years on another show, I instantly knew he was referring to stargate. I remember Richard Dean Anderson said he left because he wanted to spend more time with his kid as well. Surprising how much sacrifice they make for a performance
As someone who works in the industry this documentary really hits extra hard. They touch on so many facets and important things and accurately portray the magnitude of time, energy and life it takes to make a game of this level. At the time of this comment this will be the 4th time I have watched this. It stands as a powerful inspiration for us working on games like this and has personally changed my life. A truly incredible game and the most powerful and personal documentary i've ever watched.
I'm someone who wants to work in the industry as a 3D artist. Watching this gave me such a great perspective of the development process. I always find myself rewatching this documentary for that reason.
Wow. I put this off for a while because of the length and I legitimately regret it so much. This was incredible. This was insightful. All the interviews and clips from development were so real and the emotions are so raw. You feel the sacrifice that everyone made to be part of this. You feel the amount of passion and love they all have for their project. You feel genuinely so happy for them by the end because their hard work paid off and they get to see that for themselves. Just such a great documentary
The General C after i finished the game my only complaint was that there were not many incredible bosses, then i fought the valkiries...goddamit this game truly is a 10/10
@@asifmetal666 They certainly know what there doing. even though it's ironic that bosses got cut due to running out of time and budget. but it's still a masterpiece. Really wish the big eagle thing in hellheim didn't get cut. It's the only time in the whole game where I groaned as I saw the troll fight coming(probably best troll fight in the game imo). Only time I felt a boss would have been warranted and wasn't delivered
I wonder what made Christopher Judge break during the blades of chaos scene. My man was really digging deep in to his past to reach that level of performance.
When you play the game, and you're getting the Blades of Chaos, you are all excited, pumped, because you know, crazy things will happen. I've never really felt the emotions that Kratos had, it was just truly an epic moment for me, but now, that I saw Cristopher Judge crying, saying "I know" with his shaky voice... it just hit me, and I won't be able to play that scene again without remembering it and crying. This game is truly a masterpiece.
When Cory looks at the reviews at the end and starts to cry I cried with him, not kidding even a little. You can't act that, pure human emotion, not just happines, but all emotions got out at once and its beautifull. Congrats to the team on a masterpiece of a game and their dedication. When the tears stop I will have to install the game and go through it for the second time 🙌
Seeing Cory's reaction to the game scores at the end of the video is just... Heart warming. All the efforts these guys have put into making this the best game of the PS4 generation, is unreal. The sacrifices all of these people have had to make to make sure we, as players, have the best time of our lives experiencing this art, is commendable. I related to Cory at multiple levels throughout this video, being a game Designer myself. His doubts, his commitment, his paranoia, his hardwork... At so many stages in the game development process, we are unsure of so many things. We just want to do what's right, what's best for the player, make the best possible game. I'm honestly thankful for this video in so many ways. Keeps me grounded.
I never knew how much I have taken this game for granted. Every time I'm amazed at the gorgeous gameplay and overall content, there were people in Santa Monica who probably ripped their hair off from the stress of making it happen..... Someone in Santa Monica was doing overtime and missing out on his/her kid's birthday just so that we could have an experience unlike any other....
Sony was realllllllllly comitted to this game and studio. I mean they started a documentation about the game when they just started with the concept. Genius move.
Yeah, i think only SIE and Capcom that capable to make single player game great again. If we look at another big publishers, seem like almost every of them already lack on something. For Bethesda, at least they still wanna make SP games, even if they already screwed up Fallout franchise. Ubisoft seems wanna push MTX in single player and always online mechanic if we look at how they treat Ghost Recon Break P. Square E and THQ seems lack on passion and quality they only produce decent games for recently. Bandai too much stuck on anime cash grab games. Koei and WB games are season pass and DLC fanatic, their DLC even can cost more than a full priced game. EA, Konami, Activision, and TakeTwo, oh man they are the worst
My gosh, Cory really opened himself up in this, his personal self, kids, wife and life. Thank you Cory and team so much. This is not hyperbole, the newest GoW changed my life as a new father. 🙏🏻
@@arrownoir You are more than pathethic my friend. You think you cannot learn anything from a "game". Instead of seeing it as just a "game", if that bothers you, see it as a piece of art or film. GoW is only a game when you are pushing buttons, but if you omit that and only take into account the cutscenes, theme , father, son, mother, mystery, knowing one-self, how the main characters evolve, script, sound sound design and atmosphere, one could consider it a film.
"My mother said, everyone is smarter than you at something. And if you don't figure out what it is, and learn from it, that's your fault." This quote from Chris Judge's mother resonated with me so much, because my mother taught me the same values. What I love specifically about this documentary and the game is how the narrative told such a touching story about family, and I love how it all translated through and beyond everyone who worked on this project. Thank you again for the work. I'm going to revisit the game again, just because of this.
It's insane to see the team talking about how stressed they are for the E3 2016 announcement and trailer in retrospect, knowing now that people largely saw it as one of the best game announcements ever.
This felt raw. Personal. Words cannot describe the elation that I have for all the members and the sacrifices they made to bring this game to fruition.
I love Cory's reaction to the reviews near the end. Everything they've gone through during the development process all ends with what the world thinks of it. Him seeing such a positive reaction, and just that sigh of relief is such a great moment. Dudes a genius!!

Sounds like he was referring to Stargate.
I had no idea it had taken that sort of toll on his family life. Heart wrenching.
I wish they kept that recording of it in the game instead of re-recording his vocals for it in-studio. The breaking in his voice would've made that scene so much more meaningful to what he's doing.

I'm actually impressed by how far this documentary went in showing the ugly side of game dev. A great accompaniment to a great game.
Not the ugly side but the hard one
No, I think ugly was the right word there. I watched this doc from beginning to end, and I was actually shocked at a couple points. People lost their tempers, broke down in tears, said things out loud that I never expected people to say on such a massive, successful project. Game dev is an all-consuming job, and even if it sounds obvious on paper, the fact this documentary was honest about all of it - the highs, the lows, the messy parts, the arguments - is valuable.
Exactly what i wanted to say

At 1:32:04 you can literally see a tear go down Christopher Judge's face while his lip trembles... He wasn't even acting for most of these scenes, he was creating a feeling and living it out in real life. That's the difference between an INCREDIBLE actor and someone who's just acting.
Exactly Daniel well said 🔥
They did the scene couple of times after which Christopher asked to take a break because he was so into it that he could not take it anymore. after that, well, I don't remember exactly, but I believe it was Cory who said to give this man a break, that they're "killing him." He is one of the greatest actors of all time.

Go back to risk runs you silly
Stuff like THIS. 1:04:50.

For all those gaming company who thinks that making a video game is easy buck via micro-transaction, pay-to-win, subpar content, no single-player story telling, etc. Here's a perfect example on how a game should really be done, with love, care, dedication, and chopping down trees
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Cory and Santa Monica crew.
Chopping. Down. Trees.

The bags under Cory's eyes. The man hasn't slept in days. The dedication he put into this, I have so much respect for this man.

No, it was made for us, father.
@Daiyaan Slamang I think you may be projecting more into that line than anything else bro
@Daiyaan Slamang you're so cool
Please call your kid "boi" or "girl" from time to time. :D
1:32:02 I literally cried alittle when Christopher started tearing up. This is such a amazing performance
Been a fan of his since StarGate. Didn’t know he sacrificed so much for that show. What a performance though.
@@makasete30 He was in almost every episode and usually appeared in most scenes. That is a very demanding shooting schedule.
Yep
@@makasete30 yep, when he said 10 years on another show, I instantly knew he was referring to stargate. I remember Richard Dean Anderson said he left because he wanted to spend more time with his kid as well. Surprising how much sacrifice they make for a performance
@@makasete30 Wait what did he sacrifice?
As someone who works in the industry this documentary really hits extra hard. They touch on so many facets and important things and accurately portray the magnitude of time, energy and life it takes to make a game of this level. At the time of this comment this will be the 4th time I have watched this. It stands as a powerful inspiration for us working on games like this and has personally changed my life. A truly incredible game and the most powerful and personal documentary i've ever watched.
I'm someone who wants to work in the industry as a 3D artist. Watching this gave me such a great perspective of the development process. I always find myself rewatching this documentary for that reason.
it is powerful
I will never beg for a release date again!
"Well done, Boy."
And this is why it's the best game of 2018.
10/10 game and a 10/10 documentary... congratulations cory you and your team outdid yourselves can’t wait to see whats happens next with GOW
The General C after i finished the game my only complaint was that there were not many incredible bosses, then i fought the valkiries...goddamit this game truly is a 10/10
SONY knows how to nurture a great devs like this. they give them the time n proper funding for creating there dreams.
Seeing Sunny like a teen now after I saw this docummentary a few years ago is so crazy, we have seen this kid go from a boy to almost a man :)
I wonder what made Christopher Judge break during the blades of chaos scene. My man was really digging deep in to his past to reach that level of performance.
calfae01 it’s part of the craft of acting. As someone who works in performing arts, I can tell ya it’s definitely an intensive process at times.
Where's that At?
@@seraphimuploads2947 1:31:50
In his own words: A love letter to his kids...and an apology - my goodness.
He did said he missed 10 years of his kids life while working, that's a pretty big burden.
Great actor!! It really hit right in the feels!! Now, I can't bring myself playing that scene without forgetting Judge's tears!!
After watching this I see that Cory barlog really is a down to earth 100% genuine dude much respect ✊👍
This documentary is so well made, I just can’t stop coming back once in a while and admire all the effort and passion they put into this franchise
When Cory looks at the reviews at the end and starts to cry I cried with him, not kidding even a little. You can't act that, pure human emotion, not just happines, but all emotions got out at once and its beautifull. Congrats to the team on a masterpiece of a game and their dedication. When the tears stop I will have to install the game and go through it for the second time 🙌
Same man, I knew what his reaction was going to be because of hindsight and I was already tearing up
ur not the only one friend

@@ninecrowns871 very very end. right b4 the credits roll
Best of luck with your future projects!
What's your game?
Not activision or respawn💀
Best of luck with your game!
You made me cry...Thank u Santa Monica for creating one of the best games ever!
Marry me please!
RojinegroMaiden lol sad
RojinegroMaiden 🤨
@@RojinegroMaiden sorry I already done this quest XD
I never knew how much I have taken this game for granted. Every time I'm amazed at the gorgeous gameplay and overall content, there were people in Santa Monica who probably ripped their hair off from the stress of making it happen..... Someone in Santa Monica was doing overtime and missing out on his/her kid's birthday just so that we could have an experience unlike any other....
Sony was realllllllllly comitted to this game and studio. I mean they started a documentation about the game when they just started with the concept. Genius move.
I think sony documents game studios progress in general. Or the studio itself has professional photographers/cameramen for their games development.
i love SONY for there commitment towards video game in general. thats why we got games after games that r freaking masterpiece.
Pathetic!
arrownoir Yup... you are. Way to go insulting someone on the internet for thanking someone else for their art 👍🏻
And if you don't figure out what it is, and learn from it, that's your fault."
This quote from Chris Judge's mother resonated with me so much, because my mother taught me the same values. What I love specifically about this documentary and the game is how the narrative told such a touching story about family, and I love how it all translated through and beyond everyone who worked on this project. Thank you again for the work.
I'm going to revisit the game again, just because of this.
I remember when Kratos stepped out the shadows I teared up. All these years later when I watch the E3 reveal I still tear up. Videogames are art
Thank you to all involved in this game. Your hard work is appreciated. Now I gotta go wipe some tears off.
I love Cory's reaction to the reviews near the end. Everything they've gone through during the development process all ends with what the world thinks of it. Him seeing such a positive reaction, and just that sigh of relief is such a great moment. Dudes a genius!!
