JPEGMAFIA - Right Here Is Home (Documentary)

- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- In The FADER's doc Right Here Is Home, JPEGMAFIA revisits one of the first places he connected with a creative community, The Bell Foundry in Baltimore, and explains how the city's collective fight against police brutality helped foster his early forays into music. He then gets into how there really wasn't a backup plan after music, despite his journalism degree. And to show the electric energy in his live shows, the doc ends with a sold out show at Baltimore's Metro Gallery featuring himself as the DJ.

Veteran completely changed my perspective (for the best) of what experimental rappers can do. HIs story just makes the music seem even more real and driven with purpose. Hope he never stops for real.
His shit is so eclectic and unique. Fresh twist on Hip-Hop.

That rauiri interview was amazing.
@@sokar9438 How much would you rate Fantano from a 1-10?
@@one_man_community strong 8 to light 9 for all the great music, memes and insights he has showed me.
@@sokar9438 I have a strong 10 for what you said. I agree with you 100%
when he said “if i didnt make music id probably be in jail. im not good at anything else, i cant hold a job, its like my only redeeming quality” i relate to that so much. still feel like music isnt even gonna do anything for me but i still do it cuz its all i can do
bro you gotta make redeeming qualities
Jay Reatard said the exact same thing
You fucking got it! Keep doing that shit!!!!!

Proud af of Peggy. Not only did he release one of the best albums of the year, he’s made it all the way to Fader. Glad more people get to see his story and enjoy his music, cause he’s one of the best alive rn.
Duven Music and getting on Currys project is huge
Jpegmafia soon gonna take over
i like how he does singing exercises just to completely blow his vocal chords out
I’m gonna do something with my life because of JPEGMAFIA
mmmmmboi that editing at 5:26 is so epic
yeah really impressive match cut
Jpegmafia is one of the most underrated artists in the game
thebestnOOb not really it’s not like he’s had any breakout works before veteran and now he’s gaining traction pretty rapidly considering his style of hip hop
"if it weren't for this Is probably be in jail. I can't keep down a job, like-. I have no redeeming qualities except music" this honestly spoke to me more than Peggy could ever know. It's fucking awesome when musicians you appreciate are humble and aren't much different than yourself
The way he described the Bell Foundry and just watching the energy he has at his shows screams punk rock, like real underground punk rock (not that worthless pop radio shit). Some punk houses still exist. They never stay open for long though.
Why they not stay open ?
@biosavat9475 it burned down
All My Heroes is one of the best hip hop albums of the last 10 years
I remember hearing and seeing legends for the first time, like HR from Bad Brains or Ice Cube back in the day. JPEGMAFIA sounds like that. A real artist, very special.
this is really well edited.
Fr a beautiful fucking video
"some people need to take that kind of agression out" true...
Very cool Peggy, thanks for sharing!
1539 N. Calvert
Peggy always has a cart on him
Veteran is the best rap album of 2018. Possibly the best album of 2018. Peggy is amazing at what he does
it's kinda ironic that the fader is a frequent collaborator with peggy, at the same time peggy is one of the most closest artists with fantano
fader used melon peggy used fader
they’re all just playing the game
lmao one dumbfuck at fader did an article on fantano, idk why ppl act like the whole company is against him
Peggy, RTJ, Danny B and Death Grips. Leading the way in experimental, glitchy, sci-fi hip hop.
You forgot Bladee and his whole group

Jpeg is det guy. But seriously, he's singlehandedly changing the way experimental hip hop is to be perceive and doing it purposefully.
The day Veteran dropped, my facebook was bombarded with bandcamp ads and Afropunk plugs. I'm thankful for it.
Peggy shows hard works is really all it takes to see your vision pan out. No matter how much time you have to put into it before it works.
I’m calling it right now. In 5 years or less, Peggy will become one of the biggest hip hop artists in the country.
nebula I really doubt it. I love his music but it’s not exactly accessible so I doubt he’ll get that big. Maybe to a cult point like death grips have but never mainstream but that’s a good thing honestly.
He wont, experimental is not catchy therefore it will never be mainstream, but thats good tho, he's our little secret
Joseph Scully-Nwachukwu probably right. But the way that music is being consumed right now, I think he has a chance if not on the mainstream charts, definitely internet appeal.
He will be huge in the underground. But not huge like marrying a kardashian or having a ghostwriter.
nebula The sky is not the limit, but space is.
Peggy on Fader?
Peggy has betrayed Melon smh. Prepare for "Not Good" on his next project. R.I.P mr BC BB
