Even before the gates had opened on the first day of the Sasquatch! Music Festival, we managed to get backstage of the Gorge Amphitheater early to capture a live session with one of the hottest new bands to hit the festival circuit, Of Monsters and Men. No strangers to natural beauty, the Icelanders were nevertheless stunned by the picturesque backdrop of the Gorge as they performed "Mountain Sound," one of the new songs added to the American release of their debut album. "We sleep until the sun goes down" they sang repeatedly as instead the sun broke through the clouds as if called out by their radiant optimism. The band will continue to thrill fans in larger and larger venues, but it's private moments like this when Of Monsters and Men best display their natural charm.

this band got me through some bad times....amazing to see them here, performing in the sunlight
will never forget this was playing in the background during my labor. This song takes me through a full range of emotions. Love hearing it! :0)
Omg when my youngest was born I would rock her to this song every day. This recording specifically!
they don't look like a band, they just look like friends that happen to meet up and make a song.
Their whole album (My Head Is An Animal) is amazing. You will not regret buying.
His voice is so soft and beautiful.
Effortlessly magical.
in love with her voice
this is beautiful...the way the sun comes out right in the middle when the song just gets sooo great. awwww love it. awww
I got a fever, and the only prescription is more trumpet.
I think I'm in love with the girl who sings.
really love this band. I hope they keep their freshness and enthusiasm forever.
I wish they would come and sing me to sleep at night. I always wake up thinking I'm dying from fear and regret. I think they could make it go away.
I like how in the start of the video its dark but by the end its really bright :D
i like this version better than the studio :D they are so awesome

Love them. Like them
They are great. The best band what i know.
That's because that's exactly what they are. They also happen to be an amazing band, but they were all friends, or friends of friends when they formed.
They are behind the stage at The Gorge during the Sasquatch Music Fest 2012.
More trumpet girl!!!
Man, I love them.
I knew that scenery looked familiar. The Gorge is a magical place.
oh god this looks so chill
so good
Truly wonderful
My mind was blown when I saw who the lead singer was wow he's talented

I L 3 VE THIS BAND. So very much.
They have that House Martins/Beautiful South sound. Liking it.
Wow, did not see that voice coming from big dude. Totally trippy
this is sooo goooood
Beauty!
I like his voice, it's wispy and husky. They are Icelandic, so when they sing in English it may not be what we associate as "normal". For me though, I found their voices interesting and different from everything else out there.
I dig the finger monster on the capo
GENIAL!!!
Phenomenal.
Good Vibes!!!!
I have a harmonica necklace like the man with the egg shaker. And I agree that with along with Thile, this is my favorite NPR video. This is spectacular!
This band is excellent...that is all.

I thought Metric's Sasquatch field recording is an unrepeatable wonder but this song made it
Icelandic Jason Segel in the black and white flannel.

Not a huge fan but that is awesome!
Hipster overload.
Or they could do a field concert with 3 songs! Nothing like the open air.
their glasses give me the thought that they all have hang overs, and are singing about last night.
SO BEAUTIFUL *sniffle* *sniffle* the music is making sweet love to my earholes
Nothing is sexier than a man with an accordian.
More trumpet girl!
The drummer is a living, breathing Tyler Durden.
I believe it's wearing... I would throw out a guess that they are wearing sunglasses because it is bright and sunny. Its just a guess though.
Yes probably the most logical, but I am unsure that location has anything to do with other than they are outside. I also doubt they are in the middle of "nowhere". The most likely scenario is the cameraman choose the most convenient area to offer a "natural" environment for filming "NPR field recordings".
@adamra1990ftw
In this situation the correct form is "...itself and me," not "...itself and I."
sick of people hating on those who persue their hearts in the world. GO AHEAD FORM A BAND UPLOAD A VIDEO AND THEN TALK SHIT ABOUT YOURSELF.. what makes you the judgment of the world. Believe the world is good and it will be.
❤. Dúllur......
DEM FEELS
Rock that tambourine boy.
King and lion heart is also great
@Scubasteve Scribblez just curious what you mean?
and now you know, i will give you a d+ for effort
Música gostosa de ouvir!
they are all wearing glasses; they're used to sleeping until the sun goes down.
