I was honestly happy to see Burns return as Watase again for the dub. Like bro, Woods’ VA from Black Ops was the perfect choice to be a hardened Yakuza like Watase.

Well he sounds better now, people were only bashing him for his performance in the infinite wealth demo. But it seems they did some touch ups to make him sound better.
They're still doing the thing where they retain the eye dialect in the Kansai-ben character subs, even when they don't match the dub actor's inflection

I think the problem with yong yea is how he handled the controversy cause i think they showed off some of his flatter proformences and he really shouldnt have said anything about people complaining about his dub, but still i will probably still stick with the JP voices cause im just more used to them
Eh, improvement or not like everyone is saying, for me Yong just sound inauthentic most of the time, can feel it during a normal conversation with other characters, like he's projecting a tough guy voice while reading the dialogue, not actually voice acting talking normally. But his grunt and all sound nice, gotta give him that I guess.
He got replaced with another va, his name is Tim Friedlander and he’ll reprise his role in IW as well, I think the reason for the change is most likely because of Roger Craig Smith’s schedule since he’s been busy lately
I like Yong Yea over Darryl. If anyone played Yakuza before with Japanese dub, they will agree with me. Yong Yea sounds so much more like the original Japanese voice than Darryl does.
Yong has a few hits. His misses happens when he's not even trying and sounds like his RUclipsr self. I still don't like the English dub. Jake Eberle'e Hanawa is epic tho. Eberle would make for a better Kiryu, IMO. I just hope folks with disabilities benefit from the convenience of the English dub. Wish they had the Judgement/LJ dub team for Gaiden. Wish even more it was Scott Strichart and team who translated it. But apparently, MID output is what we get for the English part. Takaya Kuroda gave his all for Gaiden. So hard to see Kiryu played by anyone but him.

Dubbing makes it more accessible to those of us in the west. Don't get me wrong, I only use the Japanese dub, but it's nice to have the option available to players who are a bit more casual, have visual impairments, etc.

The voice actor for shishido is pretty good honestly. I at least felt the tension of emotion when he's kicking off.
The improvements make Yong sound a little better,but I still prefer the Original English voice actor
Okay, I was wrong. Yong sounds decent enough.
Shishidos speech at the end gave me chills, the raw emotion put into "this rooms all you fucking have" is just spine tingling and it's just so good

When Kiryu arrived in that one scene from 7, I personally think Yong did a good job with his "Ora!!"

That wasn't a cutscene. It was a talking section, but the animation is so good that it blends in.

Unfortunately Gaiden development was just for 6 month and they had no time wich is why the lip sync is off and some dialogues too
