I saw this in New Orleans... it was difficult to wrap my head around the acceleration of the shockwave. It felt surreal. Like i was in a dream... i am saving this as I've looked for years...
High adrenaline, great excitement, this race is awesome and better yet THE TRUCK WON!

Yes. A lot of these vids are popping up on YT, and while it’s amazing to watch this awesome truck and driver, it brings me to tears he passed away recently. RIP CHRIS DARNELL

Can't tell with the given footage, but it was no doubt a good contest :) And anyway, the truck had a standing start while the jet had a top-speed rolling start. For sure though, you'd need a better jet to drag-race that truck properly - maybe next time ;) I'm surprised there wasn't an official to determine the winner... pity hehe. At what venue was this event?
