Some of my friends do this. I don't have the confidence to do that. I just try to not get seen, and if I am caught I explain that it is civil trespass and I have caused no harm. It is usually not too hard to get on top a lift without people noticing as nobody would think that someone would want to go on top a lift. The only place in the world where people seem to know is in Northern Ireland and Ireland.
@@benolifts Thank you. Also the newer building of my college has a lift done by a company called “CLASSIC LIFTS” do they have any history or are they just a generic? The older building has an actually good pair of Otis 2000 VFs
They are a typical, averagely crap generic lift company. Nothing classic about them. Just had a quick look on their website. They have actually made a broacher, which is not something that generic lift companies normally do. They are trying to make themselves out to be something more than they actually are. They are just an installer of generic parts. Their website talks about MP lifts as if they are something good. That really shows what sort of company they are. MP are one of the worst lift equipment suppliers in the world.
There is usually space but not always. This is why you keep your hand on the inspection switch at all times. The inspection switch must be manually verified before riding on top the lift.
+Chris Swash Also I don't cause people problems apart from one time at Tesco where I was caught on the locked levels. If I hadn't have been caught everything would have carried on just fine and nobody would have known any different. One time I surfed a lift which refused to move on inspection, but went back into service afterwards. One time I made a lester controls go out of service as I couldn't reach the controls to reset it, but it came back into service after half an hour. And apart from these 3 thimes all my lift surfs have gone well. Only the one time have I caused a problem.
With a lot of lifts, to get them back into service you need to have the lift in inspection with safety connected. Now do the following, but do each step very slowly. Leave at least 10 seconds between each step. 1. Break safety. 2. Switch to normal. 3. Reconnect safety. The lift may take 30 seconds before going back into service.
Let's just say your not the first person to have tried this on this lift saw someone get caught hon it before was so funny there faces when they opened the doors only to find 2 unexspecteing security gards and a copper not sure who was more hocked
+andrew stokes How were they found? With most places nobody notices if someone is on top a lift (not including glass ones like this). People don't notice the lights are on. People don't look up when getting in the lift. If the lift is taken out of service, or does something unexpected most people would not see the connection to someone lift surfing. Or was it that they just opened the door at the wrong moment?
+benobve 1. CHILDREN ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO PLAY ABOUT WITH THE LIFT DOORS 2. YOU CAN HURT YOURSELF 3. IF YOU TWIST THE SWITCH ON THE LIFT IT WILL NEVER STOP OPENING AGAIN. 4. THE BUZZER WILL SOUND
So let me get this straight - You find it fun to take lifts out of service just to film. Do you take consideration to Health & Safety, if a disabled or elderly person wanted to use the lift and what happens if you genuinely get stuck or even caught? Think you need to be careful about this
I love how beno, even though he is devious and does what he likes, still has a big heart for the kids.
That must've been very scary
In these kinds of situations you need to dress up in a lift service guy and do free lift inspections you seem very knowledgable in elevators!

Have you ever thought about coming to do lift tours in the us
too far away i think because america plenty he is only decent uk filmer
When you go to surf a lift how do you make sure you don't trap someone inside the lift by accident when switching to inspection?
By being aware of my surroundings and knowing exactly what is going on with the lift at all times so that nothing takes me by surprise.

What is the difference between going on the top of the lift or just standing in the lift? Whats the pint?
Because it is fun to go on top
You can manually move the lift from the top
@@und4287 hahahahahah. I posted this 3 years ago, this tickles me. I lift surf a SHIT tonne now🤣🤣🤣
Wow. This must be a first.
Does Otis 2000 have a motor room
Yes
Surely the camera at the end would have seen you climb down off the lift?
With the kids messing with the doors why didn't it go into nudge mode
The setting must not have been enabled
Put the lift on inspection mode or whatever its called the doors won't open.
Is this an OTIS *2000VF* ?
Lol you are very brave!
3:54 uh oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Security: YOUR UNDER ARREST FOR SURFING THE LIFT!!

+Sasha Sasha Are you thinking of a particular type of Stannah MRL such as the ThyssenKrupp?

Rahan omsi 2 content and more hmmmmm maybe their kid is 11 year old and they were kept breaking elevator without their parent
Hmmmm, they seem breaking elevator
I used to try to keep elevator doors open too sometimes (when I'm not riding it obviously)
On one of those lifts I missed you by about an hour you'd still be stuck on it mate
+Chris Swash Which lift?
+Beno I love Katie Jensen 2000

If I was you just say the lift doors are closing in a weird voice
Liftboy 2004 it would give away his location
why didn't you just shout at the kids
That is not nice. And it would give away that I am on top the lift.
ok
