The best part of watching melee tournaments is the crowd. not many games have the sort of crowd hype that it does.

These Highlights were awesome! I cannot for the life of me figure out why there was heavy booing by the crowd, I think Mang0 haters were hardcore, but jeez this is the first time I've noticed them so much, from the HBox set onwards, even when he took the tournament I could still hear the booing.

The audience reactions I'm still unaccustomed to (I come from a StarCraft background - StarCraft had a different crowd) but it's so fascinating to see the energy in the audience. People really care about Melee - and for good reason!
That said, I don't like the booing. I mean I get it on some level, but still. I don't really think there's a reason to boo. All of these players are incredibly talented and it's awesome to just watch them play.
Diego Fernando Lessan Mango fans make up what seems to be at least 75% of every audience so I doubt the people are booing him.
@@Frudgey I don't think there is such thing as melee talent, skill and reaction time is what it takes. And on top instinct and reading makes the difference. Not anyone can make it though, i agree, but more people than you think could.

Falco in perfection, I don't feel like theres THAT many more Melee to play... or can you imagine a better Falco than that?
Maybe a super AI in couple years...
Well that's the exciting thing - you never know! I think it's worth asking ourselves if the perfect game of Melee could be played - I'm inclined to say no, but I'm very inexperienced in Melee.
I think if you were to write an A.I. for this game, they could easily(?) play the perfect game, or at least play on a level that humans couldn't touch them. I mean there's an A.I. in StarCraft II which is already at that level, and Melee you only control one character so that's the reasoning for my belief.

Someone already made an insqne ai impossible to get more than like 50% dmg on it in a set lol. There's some videos of pros trying to play against it on RUclips can't remember the name.

Why is the clip at 4:23 a Highlight. Hungrybox missed his combo then Mango charged an Up Smash. That's not a highlight. There are other clips like this too in the video.
I'll say in my defense that I think this was the second Melee highlight video I put together, and it was definitely the first Mang0 highlight video I put together. Looking back at that clip, if I were to remake the video I don't know if I'd include that one.
Hopefully I'm a better Smash editor now than I was back then, but I do appreciate the comment as it makes me evaluate my own work.

Yes, I used to do StarCraft II Highlights, and I don't plan on doing any more in the future.
I know I gained a lot of my audience through StarCraft, so I recognize that my new shift in content is going to be unpalatable to most.
@@Frudgey no worries, i appreciate any high skill ceiling competitive game, melee definitely being no exception (i play pm a lot), was just surprised to know you're not going to be doing sc2 anymore. any reason why? or do you just not really like sc2 much anymore?
Feel free to check out my "Community" tab for a bit of a more lengthy explanation, but the short story is that Blizzard making some decisions as a company that I was uncomfortable with so I decided to step away from StarCraft.
@@Frudgey gotcha, while i despise current blizzard/activision as a company, i still love starcraft too much to stop playing/consuming content, though i can completely understand why you'd want stop supporting them (i'm sure i will too at some point once i get sick of the grind). i'll definitely be sticking around for your smash highlights though if that's the route you want to go! smash and sc2 are constantly going back and forth for my favorite comp games so i love watching it.

I mean.... I tried to watch some more of your content after the decision to move away from the SC highlights, I really did. And although I understand the decision, going from SC to smash bros is just.... not working :'(
Especially with the lack of pretty much any kind of humour. Watching some boring and serious play-by-play-only SC casters would make it just as boring as - and although I really hate to say it - as this....
I was really hoping for some for example Day9 highlights (and god knows there is A LOT of material in every single one of his streams), or something that has at least *any* connection to the content so many of used used to enjoy before all this shit went down with Blizzard. And although moving away from their games makes sense, jumping to this is just as random as can possibly ever be...
Colonel Xander yeah, you know, probably 95% of esports broadcasts are ‘boring’ play-by-play/analysis. Idk what frudgey wants to do, but I enjoy these cookie-cutter smash highlights. FGs are more hype than banter because they’re faster paced, so I guess this content doesn’t appeal to same audiences at all (inside the esports/gaming scene) as tastosis and sc do.

I truly understand. Thank you for giving the new content a chance, but I don't want anyone to feel obligated to watch it. I am happy that you were here for the StarCraft days, but absolutely no hard feelings what-so-ever if you're no longer interested in the content.
If it gives you any solace, yes Blizzard did things that resulted in me making changes in my channel but it was ME who decided to take the channel in this direction. I could have kept doing StarCraft content if I wanted. This was my choice, so I have to accept the responsibility of what happens to my channel afterwords.
