    I animated madness combat before. The thing about the time it takes is so true. I had plenty of time to animate so when I collaborated with another quite popular animator on a scene for a fan animation. We managed to make a whopping of 10 seconds in a little over of 9 hours. I would say the most time taken is when you need to add all the effects, animate bullet casing falling or animating the feet

    I remember emailing Krinkles some fan mail when I was around 7-9 years old. I can’t exactly remember what I said, but it was along the lines of how it was made, what were my favorite parts, how many frames per second he used. It must have been super obvious he was emailing a little kid but our email chain was at least 10-15 emails long. I remember he was super helpful and gave me tips and recommended easy to use stick figure animation programs to get me started. Pretty wild.

    50:24 fun fact! He actually answered this on a live stream. I’m guessing the reason he didn’t answer it is because the one thing that could permanently kill hank is actually lore related. Not just that, but that things existence is a spoiler for MPN. So, if I had to guess why it was left blank, is because of that.

Madness Combat is so incredibly unique that is has stuck with me since i first laid eyes on it almost 20 years ago. it is so damn unique that if you know about it from back then, you would instantly recognice it if described, as Madness Combat cannot be mistaken for something else if it was to be described as is. that is legit of unique it is, and how much of an impact it had one those fortunate enough to get to grow up with it from the start.

    Man, that stuff about animation really hit its mark with me.
    I'm not an animator but I have made a few gifs and the only way to get gud is to just play around with the software.
    The usage of squash and stretch added more life and fluid movement to what I was making.
    Need a character to reach the end of a room quickly? Ehhh, let's just stretch him out a bit and use 2-3 frames. Might throw in a blurring effect with the paint brush.

In eastern Europe the flash games that everyone knows and everyone knows that everyone else knows are distinct from the US, but it felt just right immediately

    Krinkles may have been decades ahead of his time... or possibly he set the bar for what the modern up and coming fight choreographers would aspire to. He put the punctuation in this genre of fight scene and story progression, even if movies like the Matrix inspired it. Its not that movies now are more in line with his vision... but more that people making movies now, often grew up watching stuff like he made, and were influenced by it.

    Aw man, it's nuts to remember Thing Thing. I used to be a member of the official Diseased Production forum back in the day just after Thing Thing 3 came out, back before one of the administrators decided to essentially put the forum down for good when he closed the most popular thread on the half-dead forum that we all used to keep active. Unfortunately the forum got completely deleted when someone thought it would be funny to post a bunch of NSFW content on it, which ProBoards doesn't allow. A bunch of the older members moved to a new forum which I'm not sure is active or not, but I still know where it's at and how to find a lot of the old members and Weasel himself. I actually still have one of said old forum members still on my friends list, we used to be on shit terms but now we talk on the regular.
    Funnily enough I remember when Weasel said he was going to work on the Dashkin game, which is now considered a NewGrounds thing when Weasel was mainly sponsored by CrazyMonkeyGames, a competitor.

    Madness is a series that delivers the only thing its known for.
    Madness.
    Wich is many things (violence, gore, ect)
    Madness shows a middle finger to Calm scenes and And reasoning. always is on the move. (Scenes like hank tapping a tablet he slapped on a A.T.P Soldat's forehead are short and are followed by action immediately)
    And thats what i love about the series. Its about action not some nerdy dialogue.

    not having dialogue is actually a winning formula because it is easily accesable to any language and even the deaf, just look at what was one of the most watched tv shows around the world "Shaun the Sheep"

    i really enjoyed the video and you absolutely should do a video explaining the LEGIT lore of madness because its really interesting LITERALLY NO ONE on youtube has made a cohesive all in one video you can watch to learn EXACTLY whats going on and your way of making videos would be such a good thing please you should

    Btw no hate but their is a LOT of lore you missed, but to be fair you really only can find that if you read everything in both games and spend months discussing with beta testers and bigger madness combat fans

    • @chippydru4023
      @chippydru4023 2 года назад

      Little sneak peek, hank wants to end reality, hanks is only strong for a go2, go1s are hella stronger but all died out, jeb and sheriff probably are the only “good” guys

      This video was more of a cursory glance at things, sharing broad strokes - combined with how the lore is generally mapped out, and Krinkels' own opinions on it. There's enough there to easily be an 60+ minute video all on it's own, so I decided not to try to dive too deep in it for this video. Maybe I should retitle that section to make it more clear that was my intent?

    • @chippydru4023
      @chippydru4023 2 года назад +4

      @@2leftthumbs 100%, so far their isn’t a single person on youtube who has made or has said they are going to explain the current lore. I wasn’t trying to hate on the video, it’s more of showing people what you missed 👍 (also so far your the closest to the actual lore)

    • @2leftthumbs
      @2leftthumbs  2 года назад +3

      Not taken as hating! It's clear you have an enthusiasm for the lore, and I imagine it can be frustrating to never see it discussed at the depth that you'd prefer to engage with it. The outpouring of comments wanting to learn the lore is really motivating!
