This is an example of a HPP (High Performance Person). Shes a brain surgeon and her high executive functioning means she can plan and execute a lot during the day. Good for her for having the skill to live life as such a functioning person and a have a life well lived with purpose that requires a developed skillset not everyone has the discipline or ability to obtain. She would be a fantastic role model as a mother to any kid.
You worked hard for your profession and I love that you found a good balance of self care and work balance. Medical profession is no joke and I respect what you do and the fact that you wake up extra early to get your needs met first before caring for the world.
This woman is my idol! It takes a very special person to do this job. I started down this path and could not handle the pressure. I have so much respect for those who can!
My neurosurgeon was like this. He was considered one of the best neurosurgeons in the country, ran daily, trained for marathons, studied judo, he even wore ankle weights as he walked around the hospital and to each appointment. Then one day, he killed his wife, put her in a suitcase, threw her over a bridge and told police that she left their home on her own, wearing pyjamas. Being a perfectionist in so many aspects can sound so inspiring to those of us who just don’t function like that, but the truth is, some people judge their success based on how well they perform and juggle everything and then crash badly when one aspect of their life goes downhill. He was abusive to his wife, who was also a doctor and she was just about to leave him. He couldn’t imagine that kind of “failure” so he killed her. He’s serving his sentence right now and will likely be paroled at the end of his mandatory prison sentence. What a waste. He gave hope to so many of his patients but made his home a living nightmare for his wife and children. Beware of high performing individuals like him. They thrive when everything is smooth sailing but they aren’t prepared for things to go off the rails.
Amazing! I literally felt tired sitting with my laptop by the time she got to work. Had to jump, though, when the loose sleeve of her sweater brushed the gas stove burner. So glad we in Athens, GA have her.
I would need a nap before going to work! I have had brain surgery -nothing but respect and admiration for anyone and everyone in the science/medical fields and all those who support their work behind the scenes (yes, even janitors!)
Big respect and thank you for the amazing job that you and your colleagues do. Without you people do not stand a chance to live another day. I worked in the State Coroners Morgue for 19 years and was a senior postmortem technician and was always amazed with the brain .
What a wonderful lady! Self-actualized. Thanks so kindly for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your daily life. Wishing you continued joy and success in your chosen path - I am certain your patients benefit immensely with your approach to care. Canada sends a salute!
A person could not do what she does with a lot of anxiety. I am not knocking her, just saying she is lucky in life@@ivelinaminkova2646my sister is the same as her. I in the other hand have been dealt a different hand. People who suffer with mental health issues cannot do what she does.
One of my favorite writers was a neurosurgeon (maurice Nicoll) who gave it all up to write very elaborate commentaries on the teaching of one George Gurdjieff. This lady here makes her very busy day seem like a no-brainer. Respect
Love this! Very inspiring to see the day of one of society’s superheroes. I’m curious how many hours of sleep you get. So many super high achievers (for lack of better term) also don’t seem to need as much sleep as most.
I was in the neuro ICU for two weeks for a ruptured brain aneurysm and the doctors did their rounds at the crack of dawn, which meant every morning at 5 am I had an ultrasound followed by a CT scan.
Made me tired after the morning dog walk !! Don’t know how people get that much energy at that time getting up and never stop till back to bed ! Live to work 😮
Sounds like she has no family commitments, no husband, no children, just 3 dogs. The dogs seem to get 2 walks a day, but not much else. Maybe she purposely omitted other personal commitments, but it does simplify her routine.
Yeah, I gotta get back into those whey protein shakes. Surprised she cooks so much for herself which is great. Up so early. I go to bed at 4AM and get up sometimes at 12PM.
I can’t imagine getting up so early. I love my sleep and my dreams are the best in the morning. My brain and body wake up slowly. Exercise around 5-6 works best for me. But to each their own!
I work in retail and am trying to gain weight (lost too much, purely from being on my feet 4-5 days a week). I think I'm going to steal your protein shake at work for lunch/snack idea. Except I'm whey-intolerant, so I'll have to splurge on beef protein :/ I already do vega protein shake in the morning, gotta get more meat protein.
I admire people like her but I wonder how much of what she did would be possible without coffee. It's sad that the American way of life leaves people no option but to rely on coffee and drink it as soon as you wake up, don't you need steady hands as a surgeon?

Except that, apparently, she is a loner.
@@centurione6489what’s your point?
Except that, her lifestyle means she’s so self-focussed it doesn’t look like she’s got time to be a mother.
@@louisewalker9074 how did you come to that conclusion off a 5 minute video ? lol
Being a good mother requires a bit different skillset. Mostly beijg present and warm with the child, not necessarily super ambitious and grinding.

Dr Mohammed Shamji?

That had a twist😂

BIG RESPECT 2 PLATES FOR REPS BEFORE SURGERY!!!
Pretty sure that’s quite a bit less than 225. The inner plate is 15kg, and the other plate is the even less. Still super impressive though

WAIT A MINUTE! I saw her wake-up, her gym, her dog..etc. But I never saw her in surgery!
MIKE MURRAY Are u trying to say Click bait! Lol
Not al Surgeons are every day in the OR some days they do Outpatient Consultas of previous surgeries
amazing woman. strong as anything in the gym. she is successful with everything because her mindset says so. great job!

I'm tired watching. Now i feel really lazy. What a champion
Thank goodness for people like this person. I’d be worried if she came home and had a couple bottles of wine and snorted a line of coke.
Are you saying that your nightly routine wouldn’t be suitable for a neurosurgeon? 😮
Wow, this is what a type A personality looks like and one who has zero anxiety and depression. You won the lottery of life!
How do you know she has zero anxiety etc?

Welcome to Bugando Medical Centre, Mwanza, Tanzania to see how busy neurosurgery cases are.
Miracle worker. Dedicated and focused.
If i woke up at 4: 30 am , i would be exhausted for the rest of the day...
Not to sure I can get me to exercise at 5:30? am......but I admire your persistence.

What time do you get to bed if you consistently wake up at 4:30am?
I consistently wake up anywhere between 330 and 4am every day. I turn my bedside light out around 10pm.

I couldn’t survive on less than 6 hours sleep per night, my optimal is 7-8
I’d rather invest in a home gym and sleep in longer.

You and me both. I need 7-8 hours for sleep. Plus walking your dog/s is also a great way to exercise.

Thank you very much.
Hmm what happens if u interrupt her routine?
The video quite clearly was just a preview. I know this because near the end it said “full video coming soon.” so It doesn’t represent her full day
Terrific Neuro Surgeon!
there is such things as trying to do too much in a day

Love this video ❤️
I'm so grateful for my Neurosurgeon!! #hydrocephalus
She's literally living my dream
People like this are inspiring!
Very interesting.
Sounds like neurosurgeons spend most of their time working out, walking their dogs, and preparing meals.
What you think a professional neurosurgeon is going to be irresponsible and party all night??😭😂 get into trouble?
Sounds like the kind of healthy lifestyle that makes for someone being in good physical and mental health for doing a highly demanding job.
Sad
I guess we don't appreciate what she does until the unfortunate day we are referred to her.
Because they charge so much $$$
I love to see a tattooed, pierced, strong woman in this role. Great video :)
That's a long day!
Well she doesn’t have any responsibilities as taking care of kids or anything so she can have time to just do whatever she wants for herself!!!
you should have been asleep already at 20:30 😂
Get a gym in your house
pretty cool
Could never be me
Seems like an awfully LONELY life.
She has two dogs and works with other people in a patient-facing capacity. Doesn't seem lonely to me.
Do you have a maid to clean the hiuse
You so very cool!!!!!
Neurosurgery is a Very noble and respectful career but it is a very sad life.
Why
How? She went to school and loves what she does clearly. Only thing that’s sad is people saying this is sad.
Hopefully, she (the doctor) doesn't wake up during or after the operation.
Weird...a neurosurgeon gng to work 😊😊at about 8-9😮
Worked in healthcare for years and I've never seen that
my afternoon snak is a 6 pack of Bud/lol

This seems so incredibly sad to me.
Why? She clearly loves what she does.
So sad
I think she is simply indicating the absurdity of life. Almost all routines are seemingly sad in a certain perspective.
You need a consult lol
It is called a career, try it sometime Doomer. Lol
The lady hates her job! She looking at that retirement date always!
why the hell is a neurosurgeon carrying stethoscope
Contraindications to surgery include heart conditions which can be screened with a physical exam (hence the stethoscope)
I have never seen a neurosurgeon wear a stethoscope either
@@mikell.6064you obviously don't work in the healthcare field

Gonna be honest, I would NOT let this woman anywhere near my brain! No thanks!
Good old leze haircut 🤣
A neurokaren
interesting. if she is single there might be some men women who do not like these three dogs being around all the time.
