I see Vernon Castle's legacy to Astaire and Rogers most strongly in 'Pick Yourself Up', from 'Swing Time'. The first recreated number here shows it in the injection of ragtime, minstrelly moves into a ballroom exhibition dance. It was the principle Adele and Fred picked up and ran with in their vaudeville and Broadway showtime careers. What a powerful and lasting influence the Castles had, in so short a time at the top.
Good for smiles and being blessed. Thank God for gloriously gifted people. Thank God for preserving these glories.

The second dance is Fred Astaire, in the movie about the Castles, right?
