Shaun, I met you 15 years ago when you were busking at 1st street station in Rehoboth beach Delaware. I was 10 years old, you were playing out front of my parents store studios S. You blew all of our minds, even mine at 10 and i had not picked up an instrument yet. Fast forward in 27 now and been playing and studying music for a couple years now. Your name still gets passed around, thinking back to that special summer…. I hope our paths cross again. Wish you the best man ❤
Media famous guitarists are cool but the ones like him who's name travels on the winds has always been so much cooler, like the great travelling bluesman of the yesteryear.
Thank you so much, brother! I actually didn't write either piece.. The first is a traditional Irish piece called "Merrily Kissed the Quakers Wife" that I learned from Sam Pacetti. Amazing guitarist!!! :) and the second was written by Andy Mckee, very innovative player! :)
Not only are you an incredible guitarist, but you seem to have a great attitude. You're about the only famous youtuber that actually comments back to his fans! Which is awesome. You're an inspiration bro, so keep it up!
Been listening to you since I met you in Charlotte with Tim, your music is a mainstay in our family, a sweet haunting of when my wife and I fell in love, and a whisper of the places we've been both emotionally and physically. Truly a poet in a commercial world, stay with it my friend.
me and my dad have just sat and watched this, im an acustic artist myself and my dad is the drummer for dragonforce a very fast prog, metal band and even he was shocked at your speed, your a true insparation for me that the sky is the limit, peace
Hey Blake! Thank you for this comment!! I'm glad you enjoy my guitar playing :) I try my best to respond to everyone because they have invested time in writing me so it just seems like the right thing to do. Thanks again, bro!
What a pleasure to see and hear. Reaches my soul - I have this tune in my heart being an O'Brien. I play a few basic guitar chords but I have Parkinsin's and am a bit slow in some fingers. Rock on Shaun.
This piece is called Merrily Kissed The Quaker. There's a version on guitar by the master Pierre Bensusan, as well as a more traditional band version by Planxty, on Spotify. It is not this cover of course - but the piece is wonderful in every rendition. :)
I commented previously how much awesome Shaun is, but once I learned the actual name of the tune, Merrily Kissed the Quaker , and searched for other versions, this version is the very best. That driving alternating bass line is so killer.
Gracious! You are incredible! I was pulled in by 0:03 and entranced by 0:13 and felt as if on a ride through the land of my ancestors until the end. Thank you so very very much for sharing. Absolutely wonderful!
I’m floored. Every time I thought I had a grip on this thing you added some new technique that impressed me even more. I’m sad it took me this long to find this. Great sound on that Maton too!!
There are many artists out there in the world, but a rare, select few are what I'd classify as elite craftsman. You, sir, are a craftsman. You know your craft well and it truly shows. It's a joy to watch you play. Thank you for recording this and sharing it. It was truly a gift.
So precise and unique! very inspiring! The whole thing flows like a happy bubbly brook in the forest! Great harmonics and percussion. You obviously practice a whole lot! You are an inspiration and a supreme master at your craft! Thank you so much! Very enjoyable at every moment of the song.
Fair play Shaun. This is truly some inspired and inspirational work. It makes my day to discover a gem like this on here. I have down loaded your album there on Apple Music - The Wood and the Wire. Hopefully after the lockdown we can get to see you live in concert somewhere along the line
Great drifting,I love the way TE signs he's auto so neatly. Sean, this is a wonderful tune, the sound through my head-phones when turned up seems like I'm 2 feet away. I'll be checking out ur other tunes for sure. Mike.
I'm officially addicted to your music. This one really has me in awe. While I am perfectly content just listening, I really enjoy your videos and watching the passion you put into each piece. Watching you perform also put into perspective just how talented you truly are. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift and please keep the videos coming! :)
Shaun ... U are totally amazing .. I showed UR vids to a friend who is blow away talented and dedicated and he dropped his jaw with amazement. I am curious if u ever browse around like we all do and peek at I others of your calibre ... Such as Michael Chapdelaine .. Tommy Emmanuel ... Et al.
Wow! Unbelievable. Incredible harmonic's Shaun. I'm a HUGE Tommy Emmanuel fan, and stumbled across this video purely by chance tonight & am SO glad I did. Keep up the good work mate.

merrily kissed the quaker the tune is called. Pierre Bensusan arranged it first for guitar, he took it from a Planxty album.

Wow. Only 11 years late to this. Amazing playing. Inspirational.
A tune I've been playing for years on my bouzouki. But after hearing this I feel like giving up. Bloody marvellous !

That is outstanding. If I had one penny of his talent…
Every day this is not on Spotify, my mind deteriorates
