Maybe this is nothing, but when Luke got to the base, he looked up and said, "There is something out there...and it is different" (keyword different). This got me thinking so far. We know that Caspar and Mitsuki are talking to the same alien, the same alien that is in the base. But Luke got his connection through the shard; also, remember, at the end of season 1, Caspar controlled the old alien, but these new destroyers only Luke controlled them a few episodes back. I know this is flimsy evidence, but I am still in the 2 aliens' camp, and I believe Luke is linked with something else.
That's a n excellent point to make.
Luke being linked to one set of the Aliens and Caspa and Mitsuki to the other.
I hope episode 10 gives us some answers on this. I'd really like to see the actual aliens, or at least some direct communication with them.
No spoilers but just finished the last episode do not expect much in terms of answers.

That’s typical of this series
Just like the Movie "Avatar". Could mankind be destroying the planet, making the aliens mad? How did Casper get infected? What will Earth do once they find their purpose? The aliens like young minds, because mature people can't decipher the language. Finally, the chard may be like" Prometheus", the good aliens trying to help mankind, and the evil aliens say, "Not so fast."
It's possible the Aliens see the humans as some weird parasite on the planet.
I would be ok with the theory that the aliens like young minds, if not for Mitsuki being able to link to them several times and only having the same issues as kaspa.
I do still like to think there are two separate aliens.
