I used to work in a nail salon and the owner is Vietnamese and she used to take us out to dinner often and I still go there to get my nails done even after I left and she still asks me how I am and what I'm up to they're really nice
I once met this Vietnamese woman who had her own nail salon (real small business.) only her and her husband worked there. Nicest woman I’ve ever met. Don't go to salons. There are a lot of nail techs that operate at home and then they have no one to talk shit with but you. So you may actually become great friends with your tech. This is why I like my home set up as opposed to nail shops. Also, it seems like these shops hire through friends and family and usually don't hire outside of their bubble so they usually don't hire "outsiders" so know that even other nail techs get the same treatment as a customer in these types of shops
One time the salon girl goes “short or long nail” my mom was like “short” Salon girl was all “oh honey that why you have no boyfriend” my mom then was laughing and said “yeah but I have girlfriend” it was SO funny
I don’t speak any other languages, but I did spend a few months in Cambodia which has a decent amount of Vietnamese people there as well. I went to a nail salon once, and the women started speaking to each other in Vietnamese, and I recognized the sounds in the language so I said, “oh are you both Vietnamese?” And they looked at me all shocked and were like “yes! do you speak it?” And I was like “I spent 3 months in Cambodia so I recognize some Khmer and some Vietnamese.” They replied “oh that is so great!” But then stopped talking to each other unless they needed to. I’m gonna guess they were saying something they shouldn’t have and thought I could actually understand them xD

Do everyone in USA nail salon speak in different languages and they say bad things about customers? Generally in our country people in salon are nice, they often complement how nailpolish look in my feet or nail after pedicure or manicure. However the people who cut hair are very criticizing 😭 They tell bad things all the time 😭

This is why I don’t go to nail salons anymore… I just don’t understand why people have to talk so much crap right in front of you,I just want my nails done 😭
If you are a decent human, they will not talk crap about you. Just don’t be rude or talk to them in a condescending manner (which I notice a lot of customers do since they have a heavy accent). If your sweet and polite, they will talk about you but in a very positive ways, like “Wow, she’s so kind.”
my main language is Spanish so I went to this nail salon and there was a Hispanic woman that shouted so much, she ended up glancing at me looking me up and down and then talking to the other Hispanic women there mocking me and talking shit about my outfit and how I looked, unfortunately for them I spoke Spanish and I told them "I'm Hispanic, and looks like you won't be having me here any time soon" I payed for my nails and I never showed up again
It’s one of my favorite languages to hear, so lovely on the ears. Too bad it’s probably them talking shit but whatever if my nails come out pretty they can say whatever😂
Everytime I go to my local nail salon, I love listening to them speak to each other in Vietnamese. The way they speak with their throats is so strong and I love it 😭

Oh and we do not care if you chose long nail or short, or coffin. We just want to get it over with and get more customers. So when you say "MY GOD THIS IS ACCURATE" this is not even 5 percent of accuracy for me who worked for 6 years at 6-8 different salons
Grew up near Quebec, and lots of French-Canadians shopped at the store I worked at. Most people were nice, or at least polite, but the occasional customers would talk smack about the American helping them in French. It was fun watching the color drain from their face when I would thank them and bid farewell in perfect French.
My mom didn't teach me Vietnamese, but I can always tell when it's going to be bad. I was at a nail salon and they were upset that I didn't do gel. It turned around once they found out my mom is Vietnamese. They switched people and the old guy who did my nails kept asking about my family. I showed him pictures. There are so few Vietnamese/Asian in our area, so I think that's why the mood changed.

Since I only speak English and I suffer from anxiety going to the nail salon takes a lot of effort for me. I am constantly anxious that they are judging me and each time I tell myself I am never going back but somehow I still do.
Thank you guys for the likes!!! It is the most I have ever gotten!
Dont be scared bruh where i live most of these stuff dont rlly happen my mom brings me to her salon where she works and most of the ladies just wanna make ends meet 😭 its rlly nothing to be scared of
Trust most would rather not waste their energy on it… it’s not high school… my girl got coffee thrown at her cuz she spoke to her grandma in Vietnamese about her grandkid… grandma only spoke Vietnamese and came over here at 85… no point in learning it if she doesn’t want to… my friend was also an English major.
oh who cares. i doubt everyone is that way. i struggle w anxiety too and it’s something i was afraid of since i was young as well. the language barrier, being afraid we might not understand each other or like the video shows- them insulting you. Just realize if that was the case, grown women/men insulting a paying customer is absolutely ridiculous and theyre the weirdos if it were to happen. Just tip well and smile and be kind.
🙄
Don't go to salons. There are a lot of nail techs that operate at home and then they have no one to talk shit with but you. So you may actually become great friends with your tech. This is why I like my home set up as opposed to nail shops. Also, it seems like these shops hire through friends and family and usually don't hire outside of their bubble so they usually don't hire "outsiders" so know that even other nail techs get the same treatment as a customer in these types of shops
One time the salon girl goes “short or long nail” my mom was like “short”
Salon girl was all “oh honey that why you have no boyfriend” my mom then was laughing and said “yeah but I have girlfriend” it was SO funny

Idk, I don't really see how you figured out they were saying something bad before?
@@alteabellerose I mean I don’t know for sure. Just the fact they were being very talkative before, like almost constantly talking, and then the moment they found out I recognized what they were speaking went to only making a short comment every 5-10 minutes was a bit funny to me lol
@@christineama1485 honestly was probably just personal stuff they didn’t want to let strangers know about, always better to assume ignorance than malice sorta vibe x
#1 reason I avoid nail salons is I don't want to be talked about badly in any language much less one I don't understand...along with every time I've gone they made my cuticle BLEED
Do everyone in USA nail salon speak in different languages and they say bad things about customers?
Generally in our country people in salon are nice, they often complement how nailpolish look in my feet or nail after pedicure or manicure. However the people who cut hair are very criticizing 😭 They tell bad things all the time 😭
The audacity they feel entitled too, makes me feel less bad about the asain hate. They brought it in themselves

@@tl9585 bro shut up 💀 they'll talk shit abt ur appearance doesnt matter how nice u are.

my main language is Spanish so I went to this nail salon and there was a Hispanic woman that shouted so much, she ended up glancing at me looking me up and down and then talking to the other Hispanic women there mocking me and talking shit about my outfit and how I looked, unfortunately for them I spoke Spanish and I told them "I'm Hispanic, and looks like you won't be having me here any time soon" I payed for my nails and I never showed up again
shouldnt have paid tbh

Everytime I go to my local nail salon, I love listening to them speak to each other in Vietnamese. The way they speak with their throats is so strong and I love it 😭
I work in a Vietnamese nails salon and they are also so quiet
Like, I keep getting these videos all the time on my page now and it's just the polar opposite of what I'm used to
Everyone is so soft spoken and polite
They talk so quiet I'm almost not sure if they spoke. They, like, mutter everything under their breath, even when they speak in English to me
And all these videos like PICK A COLOR!!! is just not my experience with my vietnamese coworkers lol!!
As somebody who’s almost entire family has a nail shop and is half vietnamese, MY GOD THIS IS ACCURATE//
are they actually/usually talking crap?
@@roseross1312 not really crap, just gossip.
really? because as a person who worked at the salon for 6 years, trust me, we don't actually care much about them. We normally gossip among ourselves and the dramas we watch, or what we are going to eat later. The only time we complain is when you are constantly moving your hands or feet, not staying still or some obvious reason we complain but trust me we don't care much about you really. Oh and we do not care if you chose long nail or short, or coffin. We just want to get it over with and get more customers. So when you say "MY GOD THIS IS ACCURATE" this is not even 5 percent of accuracy for me who worked for 6 years at 6-8 different salons
I love how she says it with full on accent! 😂😂
Angela Johnson did this joke (and another nail salon short you posted) back in like 2006 lol
The voice is a straight rip off, Hon-Ney lol she didn't even try to hide it.

This is EXACTLY why I stopped going to nail salons and invested in supplies to do my own. Not putting up with that sh*t
Grew up near Quebec, and lots of French-Canadians shopped at the store I worked at. Most people were nice, or at least polite, but the occasional customers would talk smack about the American helping them in French. It was fun watching the color drain from their face when I would thank them and bid farewell in perfect French.

There are so many videos like this that honestly made me scared to go to a nail salon lol
“IM VIT NUH MAET” got me dying 💀
The Vietnamese ladies at the salon always seemed like they’re tryna make my nails short even when I say keep them long. Now I know why

'Before u say anything I'm vitamin E' lol😂 that's what I heard
“honey I don’t know why your nail grow like this it’s crooked. I cannot do” 💀
The first sentence was "you like short nail or long nail?" It took me like 100 time to understand it lol
“Uh excuse me? 😀👊🏻I’m married”
