- Easily fix any Samsung Galaxy Note with Black or Blank display, in some cases it may not take touch input or become unresponsive.LED notification may flash, and back button may light up with the phone ringing or making sounds but no display, bear in mind that each situation is slightly different so if you have one of these issues with your Note 4, Note 3, Note 2 or Note then this fix will most likely work for you and remember to try it more than once as it may not work on the first try.

I had the same problem, even after trying several times, the phone still had a black screen. My final time, a day or two later, I shook the phone. Immediately after that, I tried Mr. Gardener's instructions once more, and the phone came on back to normal. Thank you Mr. Gardner.
Thank you very much ! it worked for me on my fourth trial but I added another method over what you suggested and by doing this it it worked , which is pressing against the battery connectors with a foil hoping it closes the circuit and helps discharge while holding the power button for one minute then I left the phone for about 20 minutes before plugging in the battery and trying to power it on and successfully working :D

I dropped my Note 4 phone and it just went black. The phone itself still worked just the screen wouldn't turn on. I thought for sure the display got damaged/internally disconnected or something that required replacing the screen. I tried taking out the battery and restarting it a few times. Nothing. Then I checked your vid. 100% skeptical it would work. But to my amazement, it fixed it!
I can understand that the screen went black because something went wrong after dropping it, but I don't understand why the screen remained black after rebooting it. All i care is that it worked! Thanks man!
Glad you gave it a try, another thing is you were lucky it worked on the first try sometimes it takes several attempts. Some people quit early and say it does not work before giving it enough time. Glad things worked out for you.
So my son slammed my phone to the ground nd I'm having the exam same trouble with the black screen my question is after you tried this process does everything on your phone stay the same like photos nd such I really dont want to lose the things I had on the phone;( ??? Thank you for your comment

Thanks man this worked for me, sorta! I gave my 3 year old my Note 4 so he can play with it. Played with it he did...he threw it up in the air, smacking the ceiling, coming down hard onto our carpet and boom black screen! I kept removing the battery and powering it on but no dice. Lights and sound still work but no display. I know my LCD is not cracked as it would had manifested with a back-light and lines on the screen when on. Went on RUclips, stumbled on this video and watched with semi skepticism. So I followed the instructions, looked at a timer and held the power button for a minute and 2 seconds, then release and let it sit there. Proceeded to watch a tear down video as I was afraid I would have to open my Note 4 if this didn't work. Really there were two things I wanted to try because I know there may be a loose connection to the LCD. Watched video up to the point until I saw where the LCD connection was on the phone. Cool I said! Since I saw the location of those connections what I did was pressed down on the upper portion of the LCD. Where I saw the connection would be I firmly but not super hard kept pushing down on the area using my thumbs on the screen and my index on the back side. Crossed my fingers and put battery back in and powered up the phone and............................the screen is working. I believe that its a combination of these two things that got my instance working. Try it yourself but remember don't put too much force squeezing the phone or you may crack the LCD! Oh and make sure you have the symptoms he listed as the touch was intermittent on my device. Sorry for this long post but some of you are impatient and only the patient will succeed!

I think samsung is doing this on purpose so their customer will go to samsung store and repair it, i have been just using my phone for just 2 month and it started black screen. All we have to do is just throw it away

It still didn't work so I did a restart (home, power, volume down) and my screen came back up. Yay!!!! I've got the Note 4

Omgg, It took me about 10 tries and I thought it wouldn't have worked but it did. Thank god, you just need to keep trying it and if it doesn't work then maybe give it some more time with the battery out
+Naziat Nowrin Exactly, I keep telling every one that this works for the lucky ones it works on the first try but for some devices you will have to keep doing it. IF you had quit on the 5th try you would have left thinking it did not work. Some times too you need to just leave the battery out to make sure all the residual energy drains for a long period. Will this work if there are no LEDs, it doesn't charge, nothing? Tried the power button thing for 10 minutes and left the battery out for the whole night. No change. This just happened out of the blue on a phone in pristine condition that was my backup and had hardly ever been used, wasn't even rooted.
Holy shit, this actually worked! It looked so simple that I though it was a dumb solution. I feel like I just witnessed one of Jesus' miracles. I literally followed every step this guy went through and my phone worked again.
After 24 hours I have to agree with some of the comments here that it is a temporary solution. My screen went out again but I repeated this whole process and it worked again.

If none of these fixes work for you then I would suggest putting your phone in a plastic back and then putting it in your freezer for 3 to 6 minutes. Remove the battery and case if you have one and just put the phone in. For whatever reason this has always worked for me!

Hi has anyone got any suggestions I put my phone in my suitcase uncharged amongst my clothing it was on a eight hour flight it is the Samsung Galaxy note2 it won't turn on wont charge I bought a new battery, charger and cable still doesn't work is there anything I can do.

The Note 4 that I gave my mother suddenly went black this morning while she was using it. I have since tried reviving it using the trick in this video; and, even after many minutes holding the power button in and then leaving the phone without the battery for a few hours, the screen remains black when powered on. The notification LED pulses blue and, after a while the phone vibrates, then, after a little while more, it plays a short jingle, then goes silent for a while, then plays the jingle again before going silent forever until the next forced reboot. This is its latest behaviour. Other times I have had it strart up with or without vibrating and with or without a jingle. Sometimes it has gotten stuck in a continuous loop jingling on and off. At other times it would play a sound when pressing the home button. Recovery mode doesn't seem to change the behaviour.
Interestingly my S3 died in a similar way. My then partner's S3, who got hers at the same time I got mine, died the same way a while after mine died.
Samsung has a lot to answer for regarding this well known issue.

For me I dropped it screen wouldn't turn on. I figured the screen cable got loose inside I just pressed hard on the back of the phone and squeezed the hell out of it and it started working again
