      There's no escape without a price to pay. Their families back home will be sent to the labor camp and might face execution.

    The biggest congratulation to President Moon for an excellent job in spite of doubts and criticisms, specially from the US, before the game started. Moon is brave and noble! This is a small step of a long difficult journey but a giant leap to give peace a chance. It would not surprise me that all that Moon will get a Nobel prize.

    Unification is actually more complicated than it sounds. Even if the Supreme Leader decides to abdicate and enjoy the rest of his life peacefully out of politics, you still have to take into consideration the long history of the US meddling in other countries. China doesn't do anything to the Supreme Leader because his country is a buffer zone. If Korea is united and under controlled by the US, the US will station bases by the northern border near China. These all of course is quite obvious, but its surprising many do not know or think about such matters. The best course would be for the unification of Korea, but Korea must become a super power and revive the old great glory of Korea.

      Does South Korea have nukes? ....(France does. Britain does. ...Even India has its own nuclear weapons.) ...If South Korea wants RESPECT from its neighbors, then it needs to have weapons that can EARN the respect of those three nations you just named (all of which have their own nukes).

    • @lonelylemon858
      @lonelylemon858 6 лет назад

      MrJm323 south Korea doesn't need nukes when it has the US tbh

    • @MrJm323
      @MrJm323 6 лет назад +2

      "....Korea doesn't need nukes when it has the U.S.."
      South Korea doesn't have SOVEREIGN CONTROL OVER THE U.S..
      In other words, it's got next to NOTHING. ....Just a piece of paper - the same piece of paper that Taiwan had when President Jimmy Carter scrapped America's Mutual Defense Pact with that country on a whim (without consulting Congress - even though such treaties are passed by Congress) back in 1979. ...The same thing a certain Republic of Vietnam had when we ABANDONED that country in 1973-'75.
      Pieces of paper provide very little defense against nuclear attack (or the threat thereof). Missile defense systems only provide an illusion of protection since the aggressor can just keep launching missile after missile until ONE hits Seoul. ....The only REAL deterrence and defense against nuclear attack (or nuclear blackmail) is NUCLEAR COUNTER-STRIKE capability.
      This is why Britain and France have each, independently, developed their own nuclear strike capabilities (including nuclear ballistic missile submarines). ....Britain and France CAN STRIKE BACK ON THEIR OWN regardless of how the Americans feel about it if they are ever attacked. ...South Korea is a little CASTRATED POODLE of the Americans right now! (So is Japan.) ...Is South Korea LESS WORTHY of respect than, say, France or Britain? ...I guess the South Koreans think so. .....Did the French or British get the approval of the Americans when each started their own nuke programs (in the '50s)?? ....NO! ....Did India ask permission from the Americans or the U.N. or the International Atomic Energy Agency bfore starting THEIR own nuke program?? ....No !! ....How about Israel? ....NO !!
      So, what's wrong with South Korea - those pathetic bitches ??!?
      (Full disclosure: I served in the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea in the mid-Eighties. ...I remember when we used to have nuclear munitions stored in bunkers at Kunsan Air Base; an infantry company from Hovey or Casey was tasked with the job of bolstering the Air Force Security Police in the event of an amphibious commando assault on the base. ....Even though we were like an hour away on a Chinook ride from our bases in the north, near the DMZ. ....Ridiculous! ....George H. W. Bush pulled them out around 1990. I hope Trump doesn't put them back. ...South Korea needs its OWN NUCLEAR DETERRENCE.)

    South got richer but not without a dear price. Their land has been occupied for US security purpose and they are no longer independent. This is a definition to "US ally" in Asia. On the other hand, north Korea has been a true free nation but poor !

      your definition of free nation is questionable regard north Korea you must be joking

      they are not occupied but they are in influence since they both are in war with the north,us is there because of the wish and permission of the south,they could still kick them out if they want to

      "By There", don't you think you have over-simplified the formula. we are there because we want to install THAAD to deal with China and Russia and want to make Far East our western defense frontier.

      Guess you are right from a different angle. It is the freedom of the state versus the freedom of the people.
