લીગલી અમેરિકા જઈ ત્યાંના સિટીઝન બનવાના દિવસો હવે ખરેખર પૂરા થઈ ગયા છે?

નિયાની સૌથી મોટી ઈકોનોમી ધરાવતા અમેરિકામાં દર વર્ષે લાખો ઈલીગલ ઈમિગ્રન્ટ્સ આવે છે, જેમાંથી અમુક લોકો ડિપોર્ટ થાય છે અને મોટાભાગના લોકો ભીડમાં ખોવાઈ જાય છે. અમેરિકામાં ઈલીગલી રહેતા દરેક ઈમિગ્રન્ટ્સને આખી જિંદગી ડિપોર્ટેશનના ડરમાં જ વિતાવવી પડે છે, પરંતુ હકીકત એ પણ છે કે લીગલી યુએસ ગયેલા લોકોને પણ પોતાનું સ્ટેટસ જાળવી રાખવા માટે દિવસ-રાત સંઘર્ષ કરવો પડે છે અને ગ્રીન કાર્ડ અને ત્યાબાદ સિટીઝનશિપ મેળવવા માટે વર્ષોના વર્ષો અને ક્યારેક તો આખી જિંદગી રાહ જોવી પડે છે. અમેરિકાના નેતાઓ અને ખાસ તો રિપબ્લિકન્સ એવી વાતો કરતા રહે છે કે લીગલી આવેલા લોકોને યુએસમાં પોતાનું ભવિષ્ય બનાવવાની તક મળવી જોઈએ, જ્યારે ઈલીગલી આવેલા લોકોને અમેરિકા છોડવાની ફરજ પડવી જોઈએ. જોકે, અમેરિકામાં લીગલી આવવું કેટલું મુશ્કેલ છે અને કેમ લોકો અમેરિકામાં ઈલીગલી આવવા માટે પોતાનો જીવ જોખમમાં મૂકવા તૈયાર થઈ જાય છે તે સમજવા જાણે અમેરિકાના નેતાઓ તૈયાર નથી અને એટલે જ વર્ષોથી દેશના ઈમિગ્રેશન લૉમાં કોઈ મોટા ફેરફાર પણ નથી થયા.

What such a desperate need is there or even in the past was there to go to USA at all cost, risk, insults, discrimination, audacity, racial profiling and what not as it always has been. Any Indian believing that the grass is always greener on the other side AND not knowing anything about rest of the world besides India and USA, must educate him or herself first and try to be wiser before jumping the ship at home and leaving Mother India. The fact is for anyone having money it is always good anywhere and no matter where. If one would not have enough money US is not going to be a magic kingdom. And that if not India, there are many countries besides US if anyone still want to do the adventure. Besides and beyond that nowhere money grows on the tree, nowhere.
