Thank you everyone for the overwhelming support! It has been so great to work with all the awesome Nissan Rogue owners. We took a big risk and poured a lot of resources into this to make it happen and do it right. Your response has been amazing. We can't thank you enough!
As soon as i can afford it i will definitely be buying this! Me and my 3 yeard old would appreciate hot air in the car in these South Dakota winters lol. Crazy how such a problem could be overlooked by all these engineers. Thabk you for the video and thank you for the fix! I cant wait to buy it as soon as i can!
Hey, I am in SD too and have the same issue. You should file a complaint with the NHTSA too in order to hopefully get a recall one day. The defroster not working is a safety issue.
@electricpaper269 I have been told that they just consider it HVAC and so it will never be a considered for a safety recall. Which is crazy because as you said it makes the defroster not work. But I still think it would be worth filling.
Great Vid sir. I just put in my order for one of these, hoping it will save me some do-ray-me. It's amazing you have to otherwise replace the whole dang heater box for a 75 cent piece of plastic failure.
Thank you! You're saving a bunch of money but you're also saving a bunch of time making it a permanent repair. You won't have to worry about it ever again! If you have any feedback or questions let us know!

Does this issue apply to 2013 Nissan sentra too. I have air coming out upper vents, floor, and defrost but only heat coming out of upper drivers side vent but not really hot.
Thank you! On the Nissan Rogues that have separate controls for the driver and passenger there are two doors to control the temperature. The door on the driver's side is faulty and breaks after time. At that point it will not move and is stuck on one temperature. Usually it gets stuck on cold air. Occasionally it will stick in the middle and sometimes on hot air. In the summer you will hear people say hot air on the driver's side and cold air on the passenger side as the problem occurs. The passenger side has a different style door and they do not break.
My 2015 Rogue AC and Heat only seems to have faulted on the drivers side. Passenger blows hot air in the winter and cold in summer. The drivers side just blows room temp air no matter the settings. Is this the same problem that this kit should fix? Incredible video
@rickadillo thank you! If you follow the first steps in the video and pull off that blend door motor it will be obvious if it is the same problem. You will see the damage. Sometimes the door gets stuck on hot sometimes on cold and occasionally in the middle. In that case it would be lukewarm. I am certain that is your issue. You can check it out and then order a kit or order the kit and then take it apart. Just don't open the kit until you confirm the damage. If you have any other questions about it or anything else there let us know!
One of the best how to videos ive seen. Thank you. I do have a question as im having 2 issues. One is with hot and cold which your video address' but the other is the mode actuator not functioning. Do you know where the mode actuator is located?
Thank you! I worked pretty hard on it. The mode door actuator is on the other side of the heater box. So just go under the dash on the passenger side and remove the covers. There's a similar foot vent that comes off. On the single zone systems there's one motor with a long lever and that's it. On the Dual Zone systems there's two Motors next to each other. It is the same one with the long arm lever on it. You can swap those two motors around and see if that fixes your problem then you know the motor is bad. I'll try and attach a picture here. If it doesn't work just grab my email from the video description or on my website and I will get back to you!
So I don't think I can add a picture here in the comments. Just email me at Renegade Solutions help@gmail.com. I will send you that picture. It's not real hard to change that Mode door actuator
You're welcome! It's a different and more robust design. It doesn't really wear out. So it's different than the driver's side blend door problem. Any other questions just let us know!
I think you mean clocked? Meaning does it have to be installed in a certain order so that everything is timed together. The answer to that is no. You can put the motor on with the blend door or motor in any position. Once you turn the key on the computer will move the door all the way to hot and then all the way to cold and figure out what the positioning is. Very rarely that is not enough and you have to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and then reconnect it. After that works perfectly. Hopefully I answered your question if not let me know!
Hello! I replied to your comment and then it never posted sorry for the delay! If you mean: does the motor need to clocked, i.e. installed in a certain orientation in regard to the matching components so they are all timed together correctly- the answer is no. The motor can be installed with the motor shaft and the blend door in the heater box in any position. The computer will cycle the blend door motor from hot to cold and figure out it's own position automatically. In rare cases the temperature does not switch correctly after replacing the blend door motor or using this kit to make a permanent repair upgrade to the heater box. Just simply disconnect the battery safely for one hour or more and then after safely reconnecting the battery it ought to work great. If that did not answer your question please let me know!
@karlschneider5198 sorry it does not. But you may just have a bad actuator/ blend door motor. On most Vehicles that's the problem. It's just the Nissan Rogues that break the heater box itself.
@shadi6300 absolutely! renegadesolutionscompany.com There you will find all the information plus our contact information. If you have any further questions let us know!
@jamesbarlowjr.3762 not a silly question at all! No the heater box does not need to come out of the vehicle. We just had it out for demonstration purposes. You can fix this in vehicle in a couple hours!
@ Awesome cause I think that’s what happening to mine. And I just bought the thing. Lol. I hear a ticking or clicking. Lol. How much is your Kit? Thanks Again for the messaging back. 🤝
@TheMisterTFM the driver side uses the same motor as the passenger side. But on the driver side the shaft on the motor goes directly into the blend door. The blend door has an abrasion problem and strips out. On the passenger side the blend door end sticks out instead of in. The motor does not contact it directly it has a lever that goes between the blend door and the motor. I've taken quite a few apart and never seen a problem on the passenger side with the lever set up.
Basically if you take it apart and see the damage in the blend door then that is almost guaranteed to be the problem. If not it will be the problem soon. If you want to be double extra sure email us and we can walk you through some more steps to verify and send pics of the damage. It's just a little long to include here. We are working on another video to help people diagnose it a little better. Email: renegadesolutionshelp@gmail.com Hope that helps!

Unfortunately it will not. It only fits the Nissan Rogues from 2014 to 2020 and all the Nissan Rogue sports.
