First time in Bangkok was in 1985, been many times since. In general I’m not a city person but Bangkok is my favorite city with Medellin second. It has such a wonderful vibe for all ages and has literally everything, your vids are perfect for portraying this.
I'm glad you included the old school ferry ride and the riverside bar. These are two of my most memorable experiences when I first came to BKK and something I still love to do to this day.
Absolutely must visit all red light districts and definitely Chinatown. Yum duck and definitely want to try this place. Lots of birds, there hungry. Really liked this old area, would go and explore. That Duck noodle restaurant is awesome !! We went there for the first time last December. I heard it has a Michelin star. It's funny, when you got off the BTS and said you wanted to go to a great restaurant, I was hoping you meant this place. And as a bonus, it's like right across the street from Jack's Bar !
Speaking of Nana, have you checked out Soi Nana? Not talking about Nana Plaza. This place is on the edge of Chinatown. You can walk there from Hua Lamphong. There are a bunch of trendy little bars that serve fancy cocktails. Tep Bar is good. They have live music. Also Teens of Thailand, which is a gin bar. Pijiu Bar has good craft beers. Some decent restaurants around too.
That's hilarious, we were just in Chinatown yesterday filming too. We saw some people at the hotel/bar you walked past that were still there when we stopped for a beer, we must have just got there after you had filmed that section. When you're up for it let's go skate!

Hi Adam, my husband and I are moving to Bangkok next month. Looking at 10 000 baht a month for a condo. Do you have any suggestions for the best areas . We would prefer the outskirts of the city. Near the BTS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated xx love watching all your vlogs. Its people like you that make us want to travel Asia. You do a great job. Thankyou.
If you want the outskirts check around the Bang Na area, here is trains there, and its great value for money, Bang Na is huge though so just check you are near a station :)

I thought Victory Monument was the geographical centre of BKK? Sapkin Taksin is fantastic. I'e been to that duck restaurant and it's fantastic as is Curry Queen which has the best panang curry I have ever eaten. I've only ever fed fish at Lumpini.

I took my olds to Jacks Bar on the river in 2023 cos I saw it in one of your videos !! Great spot. They loved it. So, cheers again ! Haha
We went to Jacks also in April after a temple, then China town and a boat ride then train to Soi 31 Oshea's pub.
We love Jacks Bar. We happily waste many afternoons there. Great food, views & cold beer.

Prachak Restaurant was recommended by Mark Wiens at the time. When we stayed in Center Point above the Robinson we often ate there.
