I’ve thought about it before and while I completely agree with you DAVID and I do, it is heart breaking...maybe we are all getting older and it’s just moving on? I’ve played football games since Italia 90 and maybe they are just making games for shorter attention spans now? Think they want younger kids not learning the game, just pick it up play a few games and not getting battered, so they then come back and spend money on it. Do games get worse or do we just get older and nostalgia kicks in when we don’t like something? All that said I think I’ve had about 22 or 23 FIFA’s and I’m not getting Fifa 22 this year, my lad might get it...but I’m fucking it off for good.

FIFA 17 wasn't even a good game. It's just infinitely better than the crap we have to put up with nowadays. There is absolutely no skill gap in 21. Apart from the mechanics abuse like bridges, directional nutmegs, fake shot stop croquetta and the croquetta cancel, shot cancel etc. Plus 5 at the back, dropback, throughball, constant pressure nonsense. It all takes no skill to me. But It's all the more effective.

Fifa 15 was the GOAT had balance of fast gameplay manual defending, skills, long shots without shitty auto blocks. The new engine broke the game and ofc new added mechanics made the game feel like a momentum based simulation.
Fifa died when skill moves became more important than dribbling. No player in the world can execute a skill move faster than they can dribble. Nobody Yet in fifa you can execute skill moves faster than a simple dribble
Skill moves should be in a fifa street or whoever the fuck plays volta. Realistically, almost no skill move above a 3 star is used or even functional in real life. Keep ball rolls, roulettes, step overs, maybe even a rainbow from time to time but that’s it. Put everything else in the bin.

No one talking about defending. There is no skill gap in defense. All the players sit back and hold contain or hit B and that's it. It doesn't matter you dribble. You can past dribble 2 players, but you cannot dribble the whole squad at the box. While you are using your skills to score a goal your opponents just uses the buttons to defend.

Guys, I’ve played every FIFA since 2006 World Cup, and unfortunately I have to say FIFA 21 is my last FIFA game. Thank you for the great memories, but it has gone so downhill that I honestly don’t see it improving. TBH the only reason I even got FIFA 21 was because they finally included my favourite icon Puskas in the game, I’ve got and used all 4 versions of him, but honestly that was the only joy I had in this years game. It really saddens me that it’s come to this point of not wanting to and not going to buy anymore FIFA games, but why would I when they have completely fucked it up. Not even just the gameplay but the packs are so expensive now and the pack weight is so fucked you literally need to spend a fuck load of money to be able to get a really good team especially if you don’t have the time to sit down and play for hours on end every day. A lot of us like myself who grew up playing FIFA are now in their late 20’s to mid 30’s and don’t have time to play 5 hours a day or on weekends like we used to.... and I never ever thought I’d say this as I was always a FIFA fan but, I hope to GOD that this new PES 2022 on the new engine that they worked on for 2 years will be 50 times better then FIFA 22 will be because we all know for a fact that FIFA will do the same shit they have been doing, nothing will change them and hopefully PES brings to the table a realistic good quality football game that we all want and deserve. I have played every fifa since 98. fifa 14 and 15 and 17 were the best. why? because they were fun and that what the game should be, not slow boring possession hogs who keep passing the ball thinking they are pep Guardiola jeez its a game. If I want sth realistic I would play football IRL or watch football while fifa is a video game should be fun not patience and stress delivers. Not to mention fifa 14 for example you can play on the highest levels with 300k team unlike fifa 21 pay to win where you need at least 2 mil to get elite 3 as in this fifa there is no skill gap
I´ve bought every Fifa since 2008 and the game has gone from a fun casual game where you can play as your favorite players and teams to a complete sweatfest where you have to pay in order to play with your favorite players, ultimate team (as much as I loved it in previous fifa´s) was one of the biggest contributing factors to this games downfall, it proved to EA that people don't really care about gameplay anymore, it proved people would pay double the amount for the chance to play with a specific player , EA and fifa will not change because at the end of the day they probably have made more money on these past fifa titles alone than they did from all the older games combined. Its sad seeing the transition from fifa 12 to fifa 20, I used to be hype trying to get Hernandez from Manchester United, now I don't feel a damn thing unless I get an icon.

Thats what ive been saying for the past years. The last time dribbling was fine was in F18, afterwards it became worse and worse .. and in F21 its insanely awful. You basically NEED to do / abuse skill moves which are on their own just dumb tho glitching through players. F21 is the Fifa with the lowest skillgap ever.

@@saifthefinisher8347 Yep. Look, im playing Fifa since 2003. Around 2009 i really started grinding online. I was always really high up on the games leaderboards. Nowadays i can still manage to be an average Elite 2 player fighting for Elite 1 in Fut Champs so im surely not a bad player. I never abused anything troughout the years. I also never been a skiller, just the most basic stuff, i always just outsmarted my opponents. I have never had a problem with using 4* skillers but especially this year, even if you dont do the crazy 5* SM, its still way to important to have 5* skillers because how terrible they made basic dribbling. As ive said in my original comment, you basically have to use skill moves this year to break through defenses because of a few reasons: - Offensive AI, unless you counter, is dumb - Dribbling is way worse then it used to be - The speed of the game is slow, especially if the servers arent good .. and we all know EA servers Other problems: - Offensive AI as ive said is dumb unless you counter yet defensive AI is the best its ever been this year with all the AI blocks / tackles .. BUT if you get countered defensive AI is retarded, barely tracking back - Passes are the worst they have ever been especially short passes are so inconsistent .. yet through balls are way too good often times "glitching" through your players .. - .. same as players while doing skill moves or the "bridge move" See a pattern? Everything should be the other way around. All those things used to be balanced once yet they screw some things up every year, this year being the worst of them all. Playing well and logical has never been less rewarded then in F21. And why? To give the bad / worse players more highlights vs good / better players, simple as that. EA knows their community, EA knows that its difficult for newer players to compete, EA knows that people dont really wanna learn, atleast 90% of the Fifa community cant play good Fifa. I always say: Even tho the game can be annoying for everyone the ONLY players that get actually punished by all this are the better players because they lose games they should never lose, for the bad players tho it always evens out .. thats what most of these players dont understand when they cluelessly rage about how many wins they would deserve more .. no they dont.

I got so frustrated with Fifa earlier because: 1. I couldn't dribble using the left stick at all. 2. Whenever I try to turn around I got the ball taken away from me unless I do that monstrosity (directional nutmeg) during the animation 3. The midfield doesn't matter at all, all you have to do is get the ball to the box and do a Tekken-like combo then shoot 4. You can't press at all, if the opponent scores a goal first then decides to spend the rest of the game passing the ball in his backline you're fucked 5. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME EXACT PLAYERS, AND NO ONE USES CBs ANYMORE THE ENTIRE DEFENSIVE LINE ARE FULLBACKS
@@youngwazi I'm bad at Fifa because my football knowledge doesn't allow me to prioritize skill moves over dribbling, use Fullbacks as CBs, not being able to press the opponent properly, do nothing but pressing Y the whole game looking for that glitchy through ball to happen. The game became a through-ball/futsal simulation at this point and I'm bad at using that to my advantage.

For me it was always clear and simple that FIFA (or any football game) doesn't have to be a simulator to be a good football game, it has to be a strategy and quick thinking challenge for the players that is based on the rules and format of football. Until FIFA 18 that was quite true, after that not even close.

Some reasons why I have never complained about FIFA and I keep buying it are: (1) I don't play online, (2) My job/career isn't based on it unlike many _(I sympathize with them over the glitches and broken gameplay),_ (3) I don't take winning or losing personal, emotionally or seriously, I just play for fun and to relax, (4) Lastly, I just rationalise the broken gameplay and glitches with _"it's just a game, no game is perfect, and shit happens."_

The difference is the competitive scene has made it so much harder to actually have some of the old fifas quality's, imagine people watching a esport that's is accelerated football (like the old fifas) compared to the slow methodical fifa 20/21, I hate how slow the game is but that's what the competitive scene does to a game😔
It would be much more difficult to defend tho tbf especially for people (me 😥) who can’t defend perfectly - also I think this will spur people to use 5 backs 🤢 and use highly agile and fast fall backs in cb and that is something I don’t want to see
GOLD FROM THE GOAT. Also, The Pace mechanics from FIFA 15 were the best imo. I remember IF Auba with 95+ Pace how outrun the defenders without any probem. Imagine Kurts combination with the pace of FIFA 15 and without chem styles... Just imagine this :)
Fifa 19 was when long shots became very hard to score. The main problem is that they made dipping shots very rare and that mixed with how bad AI blocks became it’s almost impossible to score long shots unless they are finesse shots or volleys. The volleys on fifa 19 were too OP and in fifa 20 they became useless. In fifa 21 they’re okay but AI blocks are too frequent so it’s very hard to get a shot off without it being blocked. The dribbling and defending are the main problems to how bad Fifa has become though. Mainly dribbling because the quick turns in tight gaps are not possible anymore. The passing has even become worse so i don’t even know with the way EA are that Fifa will ever get back to an enjoyable game. I stopped playing completely at the start of Fifa 21 and i stopped playing regularly mid way through Fifa 20.
Kurt, I am one of the few original players left since 1st release in 1994. Sad to say that 21 will ney last. I have seen this game evolve over the years into something which unfortunately is no longer fun to play. I stopped playing at a competitive level years ago for the exact reasons you point out. How can you compete whem nothing bloody works. I just got off a rivals match and want to tear my hair out. Passing is non existent and random, defending is non existent, plauer movement is horrible, etc. Throw in dda and you can just imagine the schamozzle this game had become. It saddens me to see fifa in this state as it has been a big part of my life for over 27 years but unfortunately my relationship with this game is over. While EA hold the licence, I will never touch it again.
This is such a great video. Dribbling in FIFA 17 is how it should be. Also that defenders are turning quicker than attackers is so shit. Also how Skillmoves are better to perform than normal dribbling is beyond me. Man I want a proper football game where the best one will win.
Passing and shooting analysis is so right. Pro clubs was ruined the moment they nerfed any shot from outside the box and you couldn't pass properly to make up for it.
Fifa 18 and previous you had a clear skill gap. I been playing fifa for years but first FUT was fifa 18, I started in February of 2019, first WL I got 18 wins, after couldn't even win the DKT, got in through getting into D1 seasons. By August I got Gold 1 and 26 wins from 40 games. I could track my progress on things I was working on each week. Even having the right tactics took tweaks and work, 2 man pressing. Since fifa 19, I have gotten Gold 1 as well but there is no bench mark for telling if your are getting better or not, each week things that worked don't work anymore. I keep saying it EA had aspects of the game right in previous fifa's. They made a concerted effort to make the game slow and equalized the gameplay which has led to the rise off more unrealistic glitches like El tornados. I quit playing fifa this year, im in my 30s, been playing fifa since 98 wc on the N64, I have never quit and I stopped playing in October, as the game felt like fifa 20 continued. Sad times man.
For me the shooting in FIFA 21 is OP people will be sprinting then taking a chip shot perfectly not slowing down at all and long shots almost never happen like they used to

FIFA 18 was the last game I actually enjoyed. It was far from perfect buy better than any other FIFA released so far as far as enjoyment. 18 was the last game I didn't quit before Christmas due to boredom.

All online multiplayer games have lowered the skill gap so that it is more inclusive so that anyone can win or get a kill. For example, the COD multiplayer maps are so bad now as you can get shot from 8 different spots anywhere on the map. Anyone can get a kill, even if they are low skilled. More people playing=more people buying microtransactions

Guys, I’ve played every FIFA since 2006 World Cup, and unfortunately I have to say FIFA 21 is my last FIFA game. Thank you for the great memories, but it has gone so downhill that I honestly don’t see it improving. TBH the only reason I even got FIFA 21 was because they finally included my favourite icon Puskas in the game, I’ve got and used all 4 versions of him, but honestly that was the only joy I had in this years game. It really saddens me that it’s come to this point of not wanting to and not going to buy anymore FIFA games, but why would I when they have completely fucked it up. Not even just the gameplay but the packs are so expensive now and the pack weight is so fucked you literally need to spend a fuck load of money to be able to get a really good team especially if you don’t have the time to sit down and play for hours on end every day. A lot of us like myself who grew up playing FIFA are now in their late 20’s to mid 30’s and don’t have time to play 5 hours a day or on weekends like we used to.... and I never ever thought I’d say this as I was always a FIFA fan but, I hope to GOD that this new PES 2022 on the new engine that they worked on for 2 years will be 50 times better then FIFA 22 will be because we all know for a fact that FIFA will do the same shit they have been doing, nothing will change them and hopefully PES brings to the table a realistic good quality football game that we all want and deserve. Im in the same boat as you. I have played every fifa since 98. fifa 14 and 15 and 17 were the best. why? because they were fun and that what the game should be, not slow boring possession hogs who keep passing the ball thinking they are pep Guardiola jeez its a game. If I want sth realistic I would play football IRL or watch football while fifa is a video game should be fun not patience and stress delivers. Not to mention fifa 14 for example you can play on the highest levels with 300k team unlike fifa 21 pay to win where you need at least 2 mil to get elite 3 as in this fifa there is no skill gap
I´ve bought every Fifa since 2008 and the game has gone from a fun casual game where you can play as your favorite players and teams to a complete sweatfest where you have to pay in order to play with your favorite players, ultimate team (as much as I loved it in previous fifa´s) was one of the biggest contributing factors to this games downfall, it proved to EA that people don't really care about gameplay anymore, it proved people would pay double the amount for the chance to play with a specific player , EA and fifa will not change because at the end of the day they probably have made more money on these past fifa titles alone than they did from all the older games combined. Its sad seeing the transition from fifa 12 to fifa 20, I used to be hype trying to get Hernandez from Manchester United, now I don't feel a damn thing unless I get an icon.

Thats what ive been saying for the past years. The last time dribbling was fine was in F18, afterwards it became worse and worse .. and in F21 its insanely awful. You basically NEED to do / abuse skill moves which are on their own just dumb tho glitching through players. F21 is the Fifa with the lowest skillgap ever.
Istg , one through ball breaks ur whole defence even if u r on full defence , this shit sucks , thank God I was not the only one who misses dribbling from fifa 15 till 18 , in fifa 21 , everyone is just abusing through balls left and right , even if u mark em 100% no way he goes but he still breaks ur defence , I stopped playing from 20 a bit and in 21 I didnt even start the game lol

Look, im playing Fifa since 2003. Around 2009 i really started grinding online. I was always really high up on the games leaderboards. Nowadays i can still manage to be an average Elite 2 player fighting for Elite 1 in Fut Champs so im surely not a bad player. I never abused anything troughout the years. I also never been a skiller, just the most basic stuff, i always just outsmarted my opponents. I have never had a problem with using 4* skillers but especially this year, even if you dont do the crazy 5* SM, its still way to important to have 5* skillers because how terrible they made basic dribbling. As ive said in my original comment, you basically have to use skill moves this year to break through defenses because of a few reasons:
- Offensive AI, unless you counter, is dumb
- Dribbling is way worse then it used to be
- The speed of the game is slow, especially if the servers arent good .. and we all know EA servers
Other problems:
- Offensive AI as ive said is dumb unless you counter yet defensive AI is the best its ever been this year with all the AI blocks / tackles .. BUT if you get countered defensive AI is retarded, barely tracking back
- Passes are the worst they have ever been especially short passes are so inconsistent .. yet through balls are way too good often times "glitching" through your players ..
- .. same as players while doing skill moves or the "bridge move"
See a pattern? Everything should be the other way around. All those things used to be balanced once yet they screw some things up every year, this year being the worst of them all. Playing well and logical has never been less rewarded then in F21. And why? To give the bad / worse players more highlights vs good / better players, simple as that. EA knows their community, EA knows that its difficult for newer players to compete, EA knows that people dont really wanna learn, atleast 90% of the Fifa community cant play good Fifa.
I always say: Even tho the game can be annoying for everyone the ONLY players that get actually punished by all this are the better players because they lose games they should never lose, for the bad players tho it always evens out .. thats what most of these players dont understand when they cluelessly rage about how many wins they would deserve more .. no they dont.

I got so frustrated with Fifa earlier because:
1. I couldn't dribble using the left stick at all.
2. Whenever I try to turn around I got the ball taken away from me unless I do that monstrosity (directional nutmeg) during the animation
3. The midfield doesn't matter at all, all you have to do is get the ball to the box and do a Tekken-like combo then shoot
4. You can't press at all, if the opponent scores a goal first then decides to spend the rest of the game passing the ball in his backline you're fucked
5. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME EXACT PLAYERS, AND NO ONE USES CBs ANYMORE THE ENTIRE DEFENSIVE LINE ARE FULLBACKS

@@youngwazi I'm bad at Fifa because my football knowledge doesn't allow me to prioritize skill moves over dribbling, use Fullbacks as CBs, not being able to press the opponent properly, do nothing but pressing Y the whole game looking for that glitchy through ball to happen. The game became a through-ball/futsal simulation at this point and I'm bad at using that to my advantage.

For me it was always clear and simple that FIFA (or any football game) doesn't have to be a simulator to be a good football game, it has to be a strategy and quick thinking challenge for the players that is based on the rules and format of football. Until FIFA 18 that was quite true, after that not even close.

Some reasons why I have never complained about FIFA and I keep buying it are:
(1) I don't play online,
(2) My job/career isn't based on it unlike many _(I sympathize with them over the glitches and broken gameplay),_
(3) I don't take winning or losing personal, emotionally or seriously, I just play for fun and to relax,
(4) Lastly, I just rationalise the broken gameplay and glitches with _"it's just a game, no game is perfect, and shit happens."_

The difference is the competitive scene has made it so much harder to actually have some of the old fifas quality's, imagine people watching a esport that's is accelerated football (like the old fifas) compared to the slow methodical fifa 20/21, I hate how slow the game is but that's what the competitive scene does to a game😔
It would be much more difficult to defend tho tbf especially for people (me 😥) who can’t defend perfectly - also I think this will spur people to use 5 backs 🤢 and use highly agile and fast fall backs in cb and that is something I don’t want to see

Also, The Pace mechanics from FIFA 15 were the best imo. I remember IF Auba with 95+ Pace how outrun the defenders without any probem. Imagine Kurts combination with the pace of FIFA 15 and without chem styles... Just imagine this :)

Fifa 19 was when long shots became very hard to score. The main problem is that they made dipping shots very rare and that mixed with how bad AI blocks became it’s almost impossible to score long shots unless they are finesse shots or volleys. The volleys on fifa 19 were too OP and in fifa 20 they became useless. In fifa 21 they’re okay but AI blocks are too frequent so it’s very hard to get a shot off without it being blocked. The dribbling and defending are the main problems to how bad Fifa has become though. Mainly dribbling because the quick turns in tight gaps are not possible anymore. The passing has even become worse so i don’t even know with the way EA are that Fifa will ever get back to an enjoyable game. I stopped playing completely at the start of Fifa 21 and i stopped playing regularly mid way through Fifa 20.
Kurt, I am one of the few original players left since 1st release in 1994. Sad to say that 21 will ney last. I have seen this game evolve over the years into something which unfortunately is no longer fun to play. I stopped playing at a competitive level years ago for the exact reasons you point out. How can you compete whem nothing bloody works. I just got off a rivals match and want to tear my hair out. Passing is non existent and random, defending is non existent, plauer movement is horrible, etc. Throw in dda and you can just imagine the schamozzle this game had become. It saddens me to see fifa in this state as it has been a big part of my life for over 27 years but unfortunately my relationship with this game is over. While EA hold the licence, I will never touch it again.

This is such a great video. Dribbling in FIFA 17 is how it should be. Also that defenders are turning quicker than attackers is so shit. Also how Skillmoves are better to perform than normal dribbling is beyond me. Man I want a proper football game where the best one will win.
Passing and shooting analysis is so right. Pro clubs was ruined the moment they nerfed any shot from outside the box and you couldn't pass properly to make up for it.
Fifa 18 and previous you had a clear skill gap. I been playing fifa for years but first FUT was fifa 18, I started in February of 2019, first WL I got 18 wins, after couldn't even win the DKT, got in through getting into D1 seasons. By August I got Gold 1 and 26 wins from 40 games. I could track my progress on things I was working on each week. Even having the right tactics took tweaks and work, 2 man pressing. Since fifa 19, I have gotten Gold 1 as well but there is no bench mark for telling if your are getting better or not, each week things that worked don't work anymore. I keep saying it EA had aspects of the game right in previous fifa's. They made a concerted effort to make the game slow and equalized the gameplay which has led to the rise off more unrealistic glitches like El tornados. I quit playing fifa this year, im in my 30s, been playing fifa since 98 wc on the N64, I have never quit and I stopped playing in October, as the game felt like fifa 20 continued. Sad times man.

Kurt you forgot about adding some headers for a more varied tactical approach where some players wouldn't necessarily need to be fast to be useful. Good video though.

FIFA 18 was the last game I actually enjoyed. It was far from perfect buy better than any other FIFA released so far as far as enjoyment. 18 was the last game I didn't quit before Christmas due to boredom.

All online multiplayer games have lowered the skill gap so that it is more inclusive so that anyone can win or get a kill. For example, the COD multiplayer maps are so bad now as you can get shot from 8 different spots anywhere on the map. Anyone can get a kill, even if they are low skilled. More people playing=more people buying microtransactions

I recently played fifa 16 AND IT WAS A NIGHTMARE FIFA 21 IS MUCH BETTER AS COMPARED TO ANY PREVIOUS FIFA RELEASED IN LAST 7 YEARS.
This nearly brought a tear to my eye 😢 You've got the solution Kurt, many people in the community have also complained but the question is, who at EA is actually listening..??
