Why didn't you get the after market one ?
Hello, The aftermarket one wss causing my truck to get coolant pressure, since I put the original truck been working fine
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY what brand did you get and from where?
I got an aftermarket, since that there was too much coolant pressure, it didn’t leak coolant and not overheating, took the truck to the shop and they said the problem was the head gasket, or the air compressor, they charge me $1200 for an air compressor and the problem still was there , I decided to replace the expansion tank for a MAHLE and the problem was solved. High coolant pressure is not normal, mechanics say that when they can’t find the problem.
@@fernandomenjivar2418 so they pretty much took your money and didn’t fix shit.. hate those type of mechanics. File a dispute through your bank and get your money back
I bought an aftermarket one and it lasted about a year before it cracked. The second time I spent the extra 200 bucks for the OEM.
Thanks for the video man, the hose connector top right on my tank broke off in the hose. Watch your video and was able to replace the tank by myself, thanks again.
Im glad it helped you, thanks for watching my video , 🙌
Very good video and helpful..please keep going make new video for simple job...thank you.
Thank you for telling us the socket sizes. That's awesome. Thanks for the video
I was gonna ask what size when magically he responded
I love your videos, thank you so much it's helped me so much
Good video bro. Anything to get this trucks fixed without going to a shop everyone just wants to charge more then 100 for hourly rate.
yes sie, all mechanics yout want to take our money
They want to charge me 2 hours replace it. 😤
In the process of removing my APU haven't worked in years do you have a video on that 16 freightliner cascadia
Well explain videos!! Good job 👍
thanks for the video!!
Doing mine today, thank you
I’m confused bro why drain the radiator I less it was for that lower hose
Great video by the way I can’t believe people give TA and petro soo much $$$ for these easy task
Hello, you have to drain the radiador a little bit, like 5 gallons, so it wont spill coolant when you remove the hoses from the reservoir
i know right, they charge allot for this easy job
what year is your freightliner Cascadia?
Its a 2013
Did you jack truck up to get bucket underneath truck?
Where did you get suction hose from to put coolant back in truck?
amzn.to/3lSCiWX
No the radiator on this truck is the short one, in some you do have to cut bucket
Looking on my truck how do I catch 5 gallons of coolant with bucket can't get bucket underneath truck to radiator valve. Where you get suction hose from to pump radiator fluid in surge tank?
You can get it on Amazon,,
Siphon Hose Pump
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY ok thank you
good video but i seen that sometimes is hard to take the top bolt off ........ what year was this truck?? thank you
hello, this is a 2013, but the radiator is like 2 years old, i have a video how to fix those bolts in case they get damaged, thanks for watching
Dealer mechanic wants me to get an all new radiator to fix that 🤣
I came for a new reservoir not a new radiator
I changed mine it keeps telling me my coolant is very low
How do you get the air out the system?
keep filling the reservoir with coolant to the max line (cap off), until it stops taking in coolant, the system will purge its self
Thanks man appreciate it
Did you have to put the fro t of the truck up on ramps to drain the coolant?
No a 5 gallon bucket will fit in there, if is doesn't is because it has the longer radiator, so ill just cut the 5 gallon bucket
@TRUCKING TIPS DIY thanks got it under there 5 gallons
Cool thank you
Did you keep the old sensor?
The new reservoir comes with the densor
I just installed a new one. But it's getting all full. On the side to. My old one never did that. Does someone have an answer for that. On my old one the side was always empty.
Maybe it need to get primed, leave the truck running like 5 minutes, and un loosen the 2 caps one my one, some aire is going to come out, let me know if it worked
I will. Thanks for your help.
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY hey my reservoir went back to normal. Thanks for your comment.
Aftermarket on ebay,$$115.00
i recommend to get a original freightliner reservoir, i had problems with the aftermarket
Dont u need to bleed air ? How u do that ?
It will bleed itself, just let yhe truck running for awhile and add coolant if it needs more
em like cho anh rồi đó anh ơi
Hey bro , can you fix mine if I pay you ?
Get those parts online
thanks!!!
My mechanic charged me 280$$ for this. Never again
$450 for molded plastic. Wow
That old coolant sensor would be good to keep.
I keep all the old sensors I replace in my toolbox as a souvenir 😂 maybe one day I’ll need them
This guy explains really good 👍🏽 thanks bro
My top bolts just spin. What can I do?
Hello! I changed my radiator and I drained the entire coolant fluid, in order to refill the coolant fluid and fill the entire system, I just put the new coolant into the reservoir?
Thank you!
Yes it takes around 10 to 12 gallons, put it through the reservoir
Bought my cascrapia new. Yr 3 coolant reservoir leaking at a crack. Had Freightliner do it as i was on the road. It maybe lasted 2-3 yrs too, but it was giving me high pressure, very odd. Almost seemed like head gasket issue. POS freightliner design. I replaced it again at home myself with a cheaper after mkt one. That one is still in truck now, about 3 yrs old. So first two were original crap and higher cost. You can buy 3 or 4 with what dealer wants to charge. Cheap azz plastic design, they all used to be made of metal, never a problem with older trucks.
Hi Thank you for the video. Do I need a specific Tention Tbolt clamps and please can you tell me what size? Cause mine have gates powergrip thank you.

Really helpful channel!!
Nivel del agua
Thanks man I wish I had seen your video before freightline charge me $ 900 to put a reservoir that is crazy man.
they changed you 400 in labor or 900?
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY
Between buying the reservoir coolant and install it, it cost me $ 900 out the door.
@@josueprophetcharles1627they probably charged 400-500$ for the part and 2 hours of labor and then tax. If you can fix it yourself, don’t take it to a mechanic, especially to a dealer. These greedy bastards charge you 50$ for nuts and bolts
Really help full .
Thanks and keep making videos .
thanls for watching👍👍
Good work. About to replace mine.

Yo….how did you get the bucket full of coolant out from underneath the truck? I know it sounds like a silly question but i can’t figure it out. Are you able to tell me how or make a short video on it pls?!?!?!
Turn your front tires to the right facint the towards the passenger side, push the bucket , hopefully i explained it right, let me know
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY appreciate the quick reply!!! Let me try it out and I’ll update you! 💪🙏
