The food and atmosphere is just wonderful. I’m not an onion soup lover but I’m thinking I would change my mind on that onion soup with the tender beef and thick layer of cheese! My husband would be in heaven with that soup too!

What a great experience, great choice of a historic house and restaurant. Food looked great as well as the little tour John. I love the period and history. About 10 years a go I stopped in my used book store and the owner gave me a book from 1776, I love old books. Thank you both for the video and ad usual, let’s rock n roll.

I would have picked the onion soup and a spinach salad with my personal favorite hot bacon dressing. I guess I won't be sending Bobbie my recipe for gingerbread with fluffy lemon sauce. Lol. Thanks for the nice video and tour.

I love Onion Soup and the one you had looks fabulous, my gosh that with a piece of bread could be a meal for me. I love lemon but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it on Gingerbread cake, my mom used to make a homemade vanilla sauce to have over gingerbread cake and also over her warm bread pudding. Everything looked delicious and while I don't typically eat seafood, I'd try a bite of that crab cake sandwich. How fun to be served by people who are in character wearing the type of clothing you would have found when the house was built. Thanks for sharing this one with us.
I bet vanilla sauce would be delicious on that cake. One of our favorite things about this restaurant is the way they decorate it. Going down the stairs is like going back in time. 😎😎

I have seen videos of the Dobbin house before. It is so beautiful with that natural stone.I love it.Here in Carson City,Nevada,you will pay a premium price to go,and sit in natural hot springs.I wonder if Pastor Dobbins knew what the value of natural Spring water is.Great video as usual.

I attended Gettysburg College from 1980-84, and watching your GBurg videos brings back a lot of good memories.
On my return trips to "The Burg" I tend to dine at The Dobbin House or The Farnsworth House. Both have good food AND ambience.

That seems to be an amazing and historical place to visit and eat a very very good meal. I was very impressed with the history, atmosphere and the great food. It all looked awesome. My parent's 50th anniversary was held in the banquet hall. We've always gone there for dinner and been in the main house. My parents had lunch in the springhouse once when there was a re-enactment group eating there. The group was singing and every time they sang a patriotic song everyone in the restaurant stood up. My mom said that that was the most exercise she had ever gotten while eating a meal. LOL
No better way to exercise than that. Sounds like a great time. 😎😎

That SOUP! Absolutely ORGASMIC! It would be PERFECT on a cold winter's day; it would warm you from the tip of your toes to the top of your head.

Always eat at the Dobbin House restaurant when visiting Gettysburg. One of our favorites is the crab cakes. Better than any we've had on the East Coast! And the ATMOSPHERE......wow!

Me and my wife went there for her birthday back in March thanks to you guys after watching your video from a previous visit lol We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was really good and so was the service !!! This is definitely the place for dinner. Reminds us of Williamsburg dinner spot. We stayed next store to their Bed and Breakfast. Great place to stay and a very romantic breakfast by ourselves at the Inn!!!!

I was just there last week. The Open Faced Turkey Reuben was fantastic as was the Barley Soup! The Dobbin House is a must to visit and eat!!

A favorite place of ours in Gettysburg. The history of this home is amazing dating back to 1776. The food is amazing, I will be trying that onion and beef soup next time. Haven't seen this vlog. Love Gettysburg, PA!!! THIS DOBBIN HOUSE IS WONDERFUL! MY GOODNESS 19 KIDS. Beautiful 1700 architecture and still great. What a resteraunt. Waitresses dressed in the 1700s. Baked KING ONION SOUP. BOBBIE LOVED YOUR MARINATED CHICKEN SANDWICH AND JOHN THE CRAB CAKE. I WOULD GET KING ONION SOUP AND CHICKEN SPINACH SALAD W RANCH AND LEMONADE. LIKE THE DINNER MENU. GET THE HALF RACK RIBS. BOY I LOVE THE FACT THAT THESE ROOMS UPSTAIRS YOU CAN EAT IN NOW PROBABLY. LOVE GETTYSBURG.

First I have to say the first time I saw you guys was in the video of the dobbin house over a year ago when I was just looking at videos of Gettysburg bc we were getting excited for going there and since then we started watching all you videos. Now this video was awesome.. that's our favorite restaurant there we go there everytime we're there. We love the tavern. We will be going there in June but when we go in September and January we go upstairs. Different menu upstairs and so pretty up there. Oh and BTW kings onion soup is awesome and you have to use your fingers to break the cheese pull lol. Great job guys!

The Blue Willow Dishes are Beautiful. It’s always been a favorite pattern of mine.
There’s a place in Pigeon Forge on The Strip called China Gift Mart ( if it’s still there)
You can get the Blue Willow there.
I’ve purchased so many pieces to go with my China there dirt cheap.
They also carry Old Country Roses China. It’s Beautiful.
John’s Crab Cake sandwich looked really good.
The open face Reuben sandwich looked unreal good.

One of my favorite places to eat at when I visit Gettysburg. There food is great, and I don’t recommend drinking 2 Rum Bellies Vengeance after a hot day of walking the battlefield. I passed out on the white bench out front, and wife and daughter had to lead me to our B&B The Brickhouse Inn, thank god it was close.
That is funny. Gettysburg gets hot in the Summer. I almost pass out there drinking water sometimes LOL. Thanks for sharing😎😎

That soup looks amazing. I have been known to order French Onion soup when it’s 100 degrees outside. It’s my favorite. And I have those very same blue and white dishes. They are called Blue Willow. When my husband and I were married 35 years ago, we requested that for our China pattern. I only use it on holidays and special occasions.

Hey there j&b just got back home from pigeon forge to Gatlinburg about an hour ago completely wore out watch this video enjoyed every bit of love the old house the well down in the bottom and that restaurant was just amazing and y'all's food that y'all had you could tell it was made fresh it looks so good it make you tongue slap your brains out guys as always you have great content loved everything about the video a lot of history there leaving out Monday for Daytona taking the Harley with me just going to be a guy thing till next video guys God bless

back in the day (1999) we went in as we were bar hopping around town kitted up in our world war 2 uniforms & gear (we had been doing a display at Ace's High) got drinks and my buddy started singing and playing spoons we ended up having a group of Canadians buying us beers never ate there but had plenty of drinks always had fun there

My husband and I love this place little. We eat dinner here, we get the roasted chicken and crabcake and share. We don't care for the dinning room upstairs, we stick to the tavern.
We always eat down stairs. We have a video when I gad the chicken and John had the crad cakes. It is from three years ago.😎😎

In Las Vegas, the French Onion Soup is served with Gruyère's cheese. Your bill at the end of the meal wasn't bad at all. Try coming to MY city (Las Vegas Strip) for this kind of meal and it might run you around $170.00, not including the 'junk fees' the restaurants here are charging these days.
