Decisions decision’s decisions I’m ready for a 205kg setup was looking at electric one but I’m disappointed I can’t buy a blue one and with silver any tips on a setup in 2024 ?
Not an easy decision when you going to spend the hard-earned silver. Personally, I do not feel the Raptor 40 is a good choice for the main heavy reel. It’s fun, and it’s fast so it makes it a good reel for a lot of the fish, but when I run into heavy fish 150+ I rely wish I had the Borealica on instead of the Electro. Also, anything deeper than 130-150m depth is going to rack up a lot of engine damage, even with little and no load on it. The repair bill of the Electro is extreme. The Borealica components are not cheap, but with my fishing I have surprisingly little damage on it, so even if it’s expensive, the damage rate is very, very low. I still think this is the best reel. Have in mind though, all the top reels are slow compared to some of their “lighter” counterparts, but you trade speed for strength here. So, in my opinion best setup, for let’s say first half of 2024, I will still say Borealica 40 DS with the Poseidon Ultra 80-100.
@@cypher_x9 I heard a few complain about the raptor saying it wasn’t worth the silver and tbh it’s kinda ugly looking to look at all day haha but thanks for all the information mate I’m gonna go with the setup you suggested since everyone who posts on vk also users the exact same setup to catch monster fish 👍
Yes, You are right! Catching comparable fish, that give accurate comparable results might be tricky though, as every fish will fight differently. So I felt using a static load gave a good representation on the actual speed of the reels. But appreciate, the input and will remember that for the next one!
None of the sources we have for Mech's have accurate information on the Borealica 40 DS, and the Imperial C40 2S at this time. Both of these are listed as above 205 kg. The Borealica 30 DS is listed as 450 +- 10kg though. So I think it's safe to assume it's at least the same for the 40 DS. The Triumph 30 2S is listed as 405 +- 10kg
