Grant doesn't shoot when McLane is fighting the solider on the wing because the General/Pilot told him the wing contained fuel, and it would have exploded.
The people at the airport start panicking when they hear about what's happening on the news... But nobody bats an eye (or even notice) when an airplane crashes and blows up on the tarmac... Hmmm...
21:03 I believe that's referred to as a "thousand-yard stare". A military euphemism used to describe people who have both seen and been in some serious sh!t. Very intense, Sadler's awesome. And yes, his clipped and precise speaking style is fairly intimidating, but it can't really compete with the almost melodic menace of Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber.
No spoilers for Die Hard with a Vengeance but I feel fairly confident no one will be discouraging you from watching that one. 😉 So glad you are enjoying this series! 👍
I DEFINITELY discourage anyone from watching that movie, "Die hard with a vengeance" is a steaming pile of dung, a disgrace that brought the whole "Die hard" concept to a screeching halt. The first two are the only REAL "Die hard" movies. Period.
Loved this reaction! If you want to watch the rest of the Die Hards, Edith them. Don’t let anyone tell you what to do. Keep up the great work, Kaiielle! 👍🏽🇨🇦
I've always thought that Die Hard 2 does NOT qualify as a Christmas movie, because the plot doesn't rely on it being Christmas. It never matters that it's Christmas, and the story could take place at any time of year and be exactly the same. But in Die Hard, it qualifies as a Christmas movie the whole reason the heist can happen is because the villains know the building will be empty, except for the company Christmas party, so they can take over and have everyone contained in one spot while they break into the vault.
This movie was directed by Renny Harlin who also directed Cliffhanger. Which is awesome its like Die Hard on a mountain. If you havent seen it try and add it to the schedule.
Yeah, "Cliffhanger" is a great movie but it's definitely NOT "Die hard" on a mountain. The whole "Die hard" idea depends on a clearly defined, and confined setting, and a mountain range in the great wide open is the exact opposite of that.
That "a sitting duck" you heard is the very reason Robert Patrick was cast in "Terminator 2". "Die hard 2"-director Renny Harlin's friend James Cameron just happened to be visiting the set, and seeing that actor deliver his line with such presence and conviction, he knew THAT was the man he wanted to play the T1000.
Imo, I loved the first Die Hard better than any of the others. Not sure if it's just a love of Hans lol or nostalgia for the first being the first; however, any time Bruce Willis is on screen doing his Die Hard thing it's hard to deny how good he is in this role!!❤💞❤️😊
Glad to have you back Kaiielle!!! ❤ Die Hard II is a decent action movie. It's definitely not my favorite, but not my least favorite of the franchise. I always used to catch the edited version on TV back in the day. There is this hilariously bad voice over at the end where McClane says, "yippee-kai-yay mister falcon" instead of his usual catchphrase 😂 Cracks me up every time. Anyway, I loved your reaction Kaiielle! I can't wait for you to react to Die Hard With A Vengeance
Did you notice John Leguizamo (John Wick, Violent Night) as one of the terrorists? He's easy to miss, especially considering his limited dialogue was dubbed over.
This one is far more intense and emotional than the first one. I would say that this is the most realistic scenario John has been in. Die Hard 2 was successful in giving people what they wanted more of John, more action and a bigger scenario for John to play with. You're question probably is do they get bigger from here oh yeah alot bigger. The next sequel Die Hard With A Vengeance is most people's favorite sequel.
Not mine. I absolutely loathe the third movie. So I truly appreciate your opinion, it more or less echo my own. I'd rather not have to decide whether I like the first or second movie better, I am however so freaking tired of having to tell people how great the second movie is - in 1990, everyone was able to figure that out by themselves, let me tell you. And holding the third movie up as an improvement or even a franchise highlight is nothing short of insulting.
John Amos, Major Grant, has been around the block more than a few times from Roots (TV), to Good Times (TV), Coming To America, The Beastmaster, and more. McClain definitely has plot armor to spare...
Kaiielle you definitely need to watch part 3, trust me and everyone else it's the best part 3 movie of any movie series and might be better than part 1
Seriously? "Die hard with a vengeance" is a bad, sad joke that turned the whole "Die hard" concept into a travesty of its former self. That's unforgivable, and just why there are few movies in this world I hate more than that one.
I definitely prefer the first Die Hard, but as far as sequels go, Die Hard 2 is pretty great. The third movie is great too. I'm not sure about 4 and 5 since I've not seen them, but I'm looking forward to watching them along with you.
Hey girl, this has nothing to do w the movie, but I am totally digging ur eyes. So fricken pretty w those shades of yellowish gold. It's applied so well & you look so pretty❤😊💞❤️
Nice seeing you do Die Hard 2. 3 and 4 arAe also worth watching but avoid 5 at ALL COSTS. And I'm looking forward to seeing everything you give us this year.
Great reaction! I love this film, i think it's underrated. Like you, i also love Con Air. The guy who appeared in both films (Colm Meaney), i know best from Star Trek, he starred in DS9, and was occasionally in TNG. I hope you have a great 2024.
Definitely need to watch the next two in the series on the channel as 3 is excellent and 4 due to you enjoying another franchise on the channel. I’ll say no more than that.
2 is the weakest of the good Die Hards to me (5 is the worst, skip it for your own enjoyment of the series 😅) The lampshade of "Why does this keep happening to us?!" just serves to remind me how much I prefer the original. 3 is arguably the best, and 4 has a villain you will enjoy, as well as a fun sidekick for John. Both are summer movies (4 is July 4th themed 😉), so don't wait too long.
The first Die Hard is my favorite. No spoilers, just my assessment: My 2nd favorite is #4 (Live Free or Die Hard). Then, #3 (Die Hard with a Vengeance). Then #2 (This one.) I'm not a big fan of #5, although I wouldn't recommend skipping it. (Unlike Alien 3 & 4 which never should have been made.) What I disliked about this movie is that John is less human and more of a super hero. I like him when he's human, and vulnerable. That being said, I did enjoy all of... well, I wouldn't really call it fan service. They just seemed to give us more of what we liked about #1. Maybe a tad too much more. But, I didn't care. It was fun for what it was. And, I did like Major Grant. He was my kind of a-hole. Until he wasn't. And, I did appreciate your reaction to the twist. (But, that's why I watch your reactions! Kind of the whole point.) So, thank you for the watch. I will look forward to your watching #3 and #4. If you watch #5, I'll still watch with you. Maybe you'll see some value I missed, and I can appreciate it anew, through your eyes. I hope you have a wonderful year. No illness, please. (I say that... I got a bad cold on the Wednesday between Christmas and New Year. The grandbaby and I came down with it on the same day. I think we got it at church on Christmas Eve! Yeah... I'm feeling better, but my voice is still raspy. Ah, well. You stay healthy. And, I will look forward to whatever you watch next. Take care!
Definitely watch Die Hard With A Vengeance (the third one). I will say no more about that. Thanks for this one, was fun watching it again with you. See you again soon.
This was a bit of a weak sequel, but still a decent movie. The next one is damn near as good as the first, and the fourth is pretty great too. We don't talk about the fifth. Happy New Year Kaielle, good to see you again. And glad to hear you're going into the year with a positive attitude and bit of a life-plan. Here's to a great year of successful vids. 🥃☮❤
Third best Die hard after First and Third one. I can't wait you to see With a Vengeance. Renny Harlin, who directed this has good action films: Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone and Long Kiss Goodnight, a Christmas setting action film with Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson.
The FAA is the American version of the TCCA. Stands for federal aviation administration Edit: which I realize is only a helpful bit of info if you're Canadian, which I could be incorrect in remembering that you are.
I think Die Hard 2 is an underrated sequel. Granted it's not as popular as the original but what is. There are about a handful of sequels that are better than the first. Godfather II, The Empire Strikes Back, Aliens and Lethal Weapon 2. Now I don't think Die Hard 2 approaches these sequels but it holds its own. I would like to see you react to Die Hard With A Vengeance 😁 I think you would enjoy it!
Echoing everyone who says Die Hard With a Vengeance (1995) and Live Free or Die Hard (2007) are worth watching for the channel, but A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) is not, even for completion. I usually don't talk about not liking a movie before you've watched it, but I have to make a rare exception for AGDtDH, which is still in my personal "Bottom 3 worst movies I watched theatrically," and in my personal bottom 5 worst sequels of all time. I even gave it a second shot, watching the extended version on home video, and no, it's still bad. Not that I expect this to discourage you from watching it, exactly, just that the movie is so bad I can't help but mention it. On the other hand, I think you will find that people are as excited about Die Hard With a Vengeance as they are about the original Die Hard, and that *nobody* will tell you to skip it. Once you watch the movie and find out who co-stars with Bruce Willis in it, you'll almost certainly understand why in an instant. Live Free or Die Hard has issues, but I think it's better than Die Hard 2, which is IMO, the worst of the sequels that are still worth watching. I will (perhaps controversially) say that I think the theatrical cut of LFoDH is the better of the two. Fans were upset when the movie came out because it was the first Die Hard to be rated PG-13 instead of R. While there are some additions and tweaks I like in the Unrated version, the blood is almost all computer generated and the language is almost all added via ADR after the fact. If they had shot the movie as an R and then digitally erased the blood and removed the swearing, then I would probably favor the Unrated, but it's so obviously the superior PG-13 movie they actually made with R-rated bits added on top of it. Die Hard 2 was directed by Renny Harlin, who, in addition to Cliffhanger (1993) and Deep Blue Sea (1998), directed The Long Kiss Goodnight, written by Shane Black. An essential watch if you love over-the-top action movies with fantastic casts and great quips. I've mentioned it to you before and I'll keep mentioning it whenever it's relevant, as I think a Con Air/Die Hard fan would have a blast with it. The score for the original Die Hard references "Ode to Joy." That one is generally well-remembered and remarked upon, but actually, the first three Die Hard movies all quote a piece of music in their score. This one uses "Finlandia" by Jean Sibelius, a tone poem that is so famous in Finland (where Harlin is from) that many have suggested it could be the Finnish national anthem. You'll have to wait and see what song gets musically quoted in the third movie's score. John's quip, "Just the fax, ma'am" is a reference to the famous line "Just the facts, ma'am" from the long-running cop TV show "Dragnet," which started in the 1950s and has been revived in the 1960s, 1980s, and 2000s, as well as a famous comedy movie version in 1987. Whenever you see L.A. Confidential (1997), there is also a cop show in that movie that is a fictionalized version of "Dragnet."
Die Hard 2 has one of the most entertaining TV edits. They dub out McClane's many profanities with a voice actor who decidedly sounds very much NOT like Bruce Willis, and the phrases they replace the curse words with are extremely amusing. "Yippie ki-yay Mister Falcon!" 😄 Definitely watch Die Hard 3. It is better than 2, and some argue that it's even better than the original. It doesn't take place during Christmas, so you don't have to wait until next December to watch it. Die Hard 4 is decent, but make sure you watch the Unrated Version because it was edited to receive a PG-13 rating for its theatrical release, which many considered blasphemous. Die Hard 5 is terrible and absolutely skippable.
Great movie. Not as good as the original, and honestly the premise of this one is not as intense or realistic as the first one. If you think about it, the entire plot of Die Hard 2 could have been averted had McClane minded his business. All they wanted was the corrupt General and the planes could have been diverted to another airport. That being said, in order of best to worst: 1st Place. Die Hard 2. Die Hard with a vengeance 3. Live Free or Die Hard 4. Die Hard 2 I will say, A good day to Die Hard, is not a Die Hard film. But that's just my opinion. I'd love to see your take on it. 😊
So here's the thing & I hope I don't catch much hate for this , but let me explain.... Neither Die Hard nor Die Hard 2 are Christmas movies. To be an actual Christmas movie, the story & plot or themes must revolve around Christmas. That's why they are labeled as such. It's really that simple. And il also add that if ppl think these count, then that means ur basing it off of the fact that it's simply occurring at a coincidental time of Dec. 25th. If that's what you are doing, do u actually realize how many other movies should be on this list. Gremlins, Harry Potter, Batman 2, & Adventures in Babysitting are just a few you then must have on ur list.
FFA - Federal Aviation Administration The Federal Aviation Administration is the largest transportation agency of the U.S. government and regulates all aspects of civil aviation in the country as well as over surrounding international waters. Its powers include air traffic control, certification of personnel and aircraft, setting standards for airports, and protection of U.S. assets during the launch or re-entry of commercial space vehicles.
The unfortunate result of being in close proximity to explosions and stunts took a toll on Bruce's body and mind. This forced his early retirement. He has a great career, but at a cost
Let's not spread this kind of misinformation about Bruce. Frontotemperal dementia doesn't have a firm cause associated with it, so it could be anything including genetics or other lifestyle factors. I know someone whose father has this same type of dementia and he certainly was never around explosions and stunts in his life like Bruce was.
@@kaiielle Explosive blasts cause shockwaves that not only pushes you away, it also causes trauma to your organs. Coupled with stunts, falls and mishaps, repeated brain trauma is extremely likely. There is no conclusive evidence. But soldiers exposed to repeated explosive blasts have developed CTE, and subsequently dementia. There is correllation, but as you point out no causation
Hi Kaiielle! Love your channel, love this movie, and love your reaction to it! My only complaint is that I was hoping to get thru the entire thing without having to hear the phrase "Christmas movie" ..... but you slipped it in there at literally the last minute. I'm getting really sick of this whole "is it a Christmas movie?" argument. I suppose it depends on one's criteria for determining what makes a movie a "Christmas movie." Some people seem to think that just because a movie is set at Christmas, whether it be funny, sweet, scary, or violent, that alone is enough to make it a Christmas movie. We all know the list: Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Lethal Weapon, Trading Places, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Gremlins, and probably many others. Other people think that the plot and central theme of the movie need to focus on Christmas for it to be considered a Christmas movie (A Christmas Story, A Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Elf, Jingle All The Way). I've seen some pretty vicious, hostile arguments over this very thing. I can solve this debate with four little words: WHO THE FUCK CARES? If you want to call a movie a Christmas movie, or NOT call it a Christmas movie, you go right ahead ... just shut the hell up about it! Nobody gives a shit! It's a stupid, pointless, endless argument that's not going to change anyone's mind either way, and very often taints a beautiful holiday that's supposed to be about peace, love, and putting aside petty differences ... and differences don't get any more petty than arguing and even name-calling over stupid shit like this. 🙄
For your solution to this being "Who the fuck cares?" you sure seem to... care! And that's okay! I'm so sorry for bringing up this anger in you today though. Hopefully the rest of your day and week is not filled with Christmas movie debacles!
@@kaiielle No worries, Kaiielle! You didn't know. I don't care if a particular movie is or is not a Christmas movie .... I'm just sick of listening to people argue about it! That's where the "who the fuck cares?" comes in. Anyway, enough of that. I still love your channel and everything you do! Keep up the good work! 🥰

No one should tell you NOT to watch the rest of them, the next one is probably the best one, or at least equal to number 1.
She could miss part 5 and not miss anything
Grant doesn't shoot when McLane is fighting the solider on the wing because the General/Pilot told him the wing contained fuel, and it would have exploded.
Darker, violent, and more action packed than the original, but a lot of fun to watch from start to finish.

Pa-LEASE watch Die Hard 3 and 4. IMO there isn't a 'bad' movie but I haven't seen the latest movie.
I keep wanting people to react to some of the more unusual romcoms for Valentine's Day. Harold and Maude!
My 2024 has been very bad so far, but hey ho
Hopefully the month turns around for you! Thanks so much for watching.
William Sadler who I most fondly remember as Death in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey
Did you notice that the reporter in Die Hard 2 is the same one in Die Hard, hence the restraining order?
I always find it funny when people remember William Sadler from Shawshank. He'll always be the Grim Reaper to me🤘🏻
This movie is awesome
22:23 lol! I never saw that before, which is crazy because I love Mass Effect. He definitely doesn't look like Keith David 🤔
"39:32" I would say that at least 95 % of the viewers thinks the same, including myself :)

Can't wait to see the collab with JL at EOM.
yes to part 3
Definitely watch Die Hard With A Vengeance (the third one). I will say no more about that. Thanks for this one, was fun watching it again with you. See you again soon.
Bruce willis has said that die hard is not a christmas movie. I respectfully disagree.
This was a bit of a weak sequel, but still a decent movie. The next one is damn near as good as the first, and the fourth is pretty great too. We don't talk about the fifth.

sweet!! Die Hard 2!!!
The final setting the plane on fire with his cigarette lighter scene is totally feasable (IMO).
Anyone who encourages you to not watch number three isn't your friend ;) I'll be happy to follow along for as many as you want to watch.
Jackson.
the rest of the movies aren't great but istill love how they expand uon his character and his family. please do them all.

Mythbusters did a lighting of gasoline pouring out… it didn’t work. Jet fuel has a higher flash point so it would be harder to light than gas… 🤷🏻♂️
Please react to Die Hard with a Vengeance. That’s one that is a must.
The 3rd one is really good as far as I'm concerned, so you won't get me to suggest you shouldn't watch it.
Happy New Year, Sweetheart
definitely watch the 3rd at least.
Die Hard 2 has one of the most entertaining TV edits. They dub out McClane's many profanities with a voice actor who decidedly sounds very much NOT like Bruce Willis, and the phrases they replace the curse words with are extremely amusing. "Yippie ki-yay Mister Falcon!" 😄
Definitely watch Die Hard 3.
That being said, in order of best to worst:
1st Place. Die Hard
2. Die Hard with a vengeance
3. Live Free or Die Hard
4. Die Hard 2
I will say, A good day to Die Hard, is not a Die Hard film. But that's just my opinion. I'd love to see your take on it. 😊
Definitely watch die hard with vengeance
U def got to watch die hard 3 atleast its arguably better than the first Certainly on par with 1.
Oh, by ALL means watch the 3rd.
😊✌️😁
Thank you so much! You're too kind.
FAA. Federal Aviation Administration
Thank you!!
The third one is good the fourth is ok the last one was bad
FFA - Federal Aviation Administration
The Federal Aviation Administration is the largest transportation agency of the U.S. government and regulates all aspects of civil aviation in the country as well as over surrounding international waters. Its powers include air traffic control, certification of personnel and aircraft, setting standards for airports, and protection of U.S. assets during the launch or re-entry of commercial space vehicles.
Thanks! I am in Canada, so not familiar with all the US agencies.
@@kaiielle No problem - just googled it - I'm Danish myself :)
You're doing great by the way - And it's nice to see your Mum and Dad take part!
@@glennjpanting2081 Sorry, but facts are facts. It’s a “Christmas Movie”! 🧑🎄🤣
@@harley2704 Whatever you say.
die hard 3 and 4 are good. 5 not that great. tears of the sun is a tough movie to watch.
Dennis Franz is a wonderful actor but he is awful in this movie. He does nothing to further the plot, just slows it down...
