As a 51 yo Washington DC native, all I can say is that I really miss the first Joe Gibbs era. He won the SB with Joe Theismann, then with Doug Williams, then with Mark Rypien. What other Coach has won 3 SB's with 3 different QB's?
I bring that up tomorrow all the time. All these other all-time greatest coaches are associated with one QB and their success. Nobody has won 3 Superbowls with 3 coaches . Joe Gibbs ....greatest of all time

That was a different era. Back then you could win with a league-average game-manager quarterback if you had an elite defense and a great running game. You cannot win like that anymore.

@@briannettles669 eh idk about NEVER being able to win with a game manager QB, but I can agree that it’s much harder to do with rules leaning towards the offense in todays game. But if your surrounding cast is good enough you can win with a backup/emergency QB….Nick Foles being the most recent example, seeing how the Eagles had a solid supporting cast on offense and a solid defense that didn’t force Foles to throw 4/5 TDs to win them the superbowl--just have to limit mistakes as a QB.
Pick #2 is a Big W either way. So Commander’s eating good either way

It's just dumb to give comps on draft prospects in comparison with current players. Especially QBs.

These QB's are either overhyped by the media or the greatest 1st round QB draft class in NFL history surpassing 1983 and 2004.

Probably Daniels. Cant go wrong with Daniels or Maye. If they’re actually considering JJ McCarthy, I would suggest they just fold as a franchise entirely.
Why haven't the bears announced caleb is the first pick? Teams always declare their guy when a qb is 1 so everyone knows there was no doubt that's their guy and there is no contest, but crickets with the bears...i find this weird.

That means the downside is protected.
So you can take a bigger risk with higher potential.
If Maye can't develop in this specific situation, then he definitely wouldnt be able to do it on a team with lesser coaching.

The tie in is pretty easy, with Kliff Kingsbury being the OC there, he will want a guy like Jayden. The hard ones to call will be Maye, McCarthy, Penix and Nix, it will interesting to see where those guys land.

Its Caleb and Maye and then everyone else. I think Daniels and McCarthy are tied at 3, but to me, neither is close to Maye and Caleb.

The Vikings would really prefer Drake Maye, but JJ is an easier reach; they've made up their minds, but deep down inside they like Maye better. Maye is a Manning/Brady proto, Caleb and Jayden are Vick/Mahomes double threats, all very good. It's an embarrassment of riches at the top of this draft. The Carolina Panthers are the big loser for throwing away all the top picks.
It is a bit early to say this draft is an "embarrassment of riches" for quarterbacks. 2021 was supposed to be an "embarrassment of riches" for quarterbacks too and most of those first-round quarterbacks turned into busts.
@@briannettles669 That's always the case, Brian; my point was that there are 5 or 6 QB's that have franchises excited about their skill sets; I'm quite aware that some of them will not live up to their billing. If teams weren't excited about their potential, you'd see other positions at the top of mock drafts. Selah

@briannettles669 If the team believes CW is that answer they’re going to draft him. But they are in a spectacular position to trade down multiple times and collect multiple first and second round picks for years to come and get one of the other supposedly good quarterbacks.
