Just wanted to say I am very thankful of the tutorial videos. Really explains different mechanics that are applicable to the piano in general and is super helpful. Please keep up the good work, I will definitely one day play all the songs that you’ve went through on this channel.
I've recently started to play this piece before you post this video. I was actually able to play it but I wasn't satisfied with the way it sounded. However, now thanks to your video, I understand the piece more and I know what to do in order to make it sound good. You have no idea how happy I was when I learned that you'll post a tutorial on this piece. I absolutely adore your video and the way you interepret classical music. Thank you so so much Antune.
I am wondering why the notation on the left hand reads “staccato” on the first two bars only but most pianists including you in this amazing tutorial play staccato on left hand throughout?
Glad you find the video amazing. Thanks! I play the left-hand staccato for the entire piece because I assume that is what Schubert wanted. You are asking a valid question, but I think the other pianists also play the left-hand staccato for the same reason. It could have been more clearly stated on the score, but it's unlikely that Schubert wanted only the first two bars to be played with staccato articulation. I hope this answers your question. All the best!
Professor sou brasileira, descobri seu canal hoje, estou maravilhada com tanta riqueza em ensinar. Gostaria de tutorias de Bach por Ana Magdalena. Grata❤
" compliment each other " To me that is very applicable here..the left hand and right hand are two gears in a machine working perfectly out of sych with eachother...it seems the wrists are dancing in an opposing fashion rather than being in synch..while one wrist is going clockwise the othet is going counter-clockwise simultaneously...at least that is how it seems to me .and I have tried learning this piece and have made it to the 8th bar so far.... actually im have been stuck her for a long time...but I am a 55yo beginner.
