After reviewing the available videos, it appears to me that the major feature of the woodsrunner kit is that it will have much tighter tolerances greatly reducing the need for wood inletting, wood shaping, and metal shaping . The skills needed to assemble and finish the woodsrunner kit appear to be wood sanding, wood finishing, metal draw filing, and metal finishing. As such, the amount of labor required of and the risk of failure by a kit purchaser has probably been greatly reduced. The pool of eager blackpowder hobbiests now willing to jump and make the considerable investment in a high quality historically accurate black powder rifle kit probably has been greatly expanded.

Alright, I'm sold. When I scrape up the money it's gonna be mine. From research I've found all my maternal ancestors were coming out of Virginia into Kentucky and points west. The paternal side was coming out of Pennsylvania right down the Great Wagon Road and into N.Carolina. A .54 will fit very nicely over my fireplace, thank you very much.

Kibler is going to continue hurting the custom builders. When customers get a Kibler kit finished, I don’t see them moving towards other guns. This one will satisfy their needs. Great job Ethan keeping us up with what’s going on in the ML world.

He fills the void between a $500 or so kit to a $2000-3000+ custom rifle that not many can afford. He is the only one that makes a CNC'd stock, barrel, and lock out there in kit form. Hopefully it may make others step up to the plate and produce higher quality products? My first kit was a Lyman Great Plains. Looking forward to my Kibler Colonial to arrive. 😁

I absolutely love the kibler company. In fact I have a southern rifle from here. Can't wait to get the colonial rifle. But I just can't figure this one out. Let me get this straight. So people have been screaming that they want a Fowler from kibler and Kjbler has been saying yes I'm going to be doing a Fowler very soon but instead he comes out with just a shorter version of a colonial rifle and they're hooping it up like this is some spectacular thing. I just don't get it. I think he blew it on this one.
But I may be wrong. I was once before. Let's see how it goes.

    • @ILoveMuzzleloading

@@ILoveMuzzleloading oh I know I will. I'm just a little disappointed that they took such an easy way out instead of just coming out with some of the things that the people have been asking for. Like a Fowler or a pistol would be awesome. But yes I know you're right I will love what comes out in the future I'm sure.
