    I had laugh when I saw your "poor mans lathe" to turn the drum shaft down. I showed my son much the same thing a few years to turn down the OD on a bushing. He looked at me like I was nuts until he saw it work and then he asked, "Where did you learn all this sh*t?" My response was simply, "By learning how to make do when there was no other way." I was a rig welder for years and one of my forte's was making things work in the field when there was "No other way."

    For all their limitations those cheap rollers are brilliant, I have one and it's been a game changer for my metal working and at a price that is affordable, cheap stuff like this enables the average person to equip a workshop, especially if you are only doing it as a hobby, and with modifications as shown it becomes even more usable, here in Britain that product is sold as the brand Vevor, I also have one of their plasma cutters which has been perfectly acceptable (these days 6mm for me is heavy cutting, 3mm or less is the norm). Whilst I may not go the full build it has given me food for thought for my own one, and like the gentleman I too have a materials "stock" 😊.

  • @BrucePierson

    The modifications made the bead roller so much easier to use. With the original bead roller, you'd have a lot of difficulty doing the beads for the panels for Crusty. Hope to see more of Crusty's build soon.
    All the best from Queensland Australia, where it's still really hot here after the hottest summer on record and fall is looking like it might break records for the heat also.

Im going to use my old engine stand now as a base using 2x2's so I can mount other base units on it for shaping metal. I want to swap tools out when needed.

    alright Fitzee mate.. How's it going pal. U have the weirdest accent I've ever heard. I know u come from IRELAND anyways but I can hear some Aussie in there or something like that but u also have that American twang too. U musta done a fair bit of living elsewhere other than Ireland. Where are u originally from lad? Louth?
    I have to say how impressed I am with the build u put together here my friend. I only found ur channel last night and it was the 1st video I watched this morning. Brilliant rejig of a Chinese cheaper POS but u managed to turn it into an A++ piece of kit my friend.
    Keep up the great work and salute to u sir from Dublin. U gave me some nice ideas for making some machines with shelving like that. I'm building a new table saw so this sheet metal will b e brilliant for the cabinet of the saw. It'll be a cabinet saw when I'm finally done..
    I'll be watching more of ur content soon and I sub'd & liked too btw..

    • @CrusaderSports250
      @CrusaderSports250 3 месяца назад

      I have one off those machines and it works very well for the cost, it most certainly is not a pos as you call it, the fact that he made it much more usable is great but if it had been supplied like that many would not afford it, with the suggestions the limitations can be overcome, long may we be able to get affordable kit like this.
