    If you’re here early just skip 13:03 - 13:27. I’ll edit it out but it can take some time to show on your end. So for now just skip it. Thanks for watching!
    Edit: it’s fixed, don’t skip!

    I ordered one just like it back in January. Still waiting for it to show up. Supposedly next month, or so I hope.

    Way to break in someone else's new engine. Speeding around town breaking all the speed limits. Kinda wish you should have gotten a ticket. Won't be watching anymore of your vids.

    I ended up with a taco sport loaded with options , but I did test drove an off road with manual and was quite impressed with the transmission and handle and speed for a truck.. I also have a 2014 wrx sti turbo back so I’m not that bumb if I didn’t get a manual.. price wise the auto taco sport for me made sense.. also my gf drives a 3rd gen taco and have driven it alot . This 4th gen is yeah just that much better in my opinion. Reliability? Who knows it’s a Toyota 🤷🏽‍♂️.. we shall see ..

      Yeah, I picked up the 24 sport too - Love it! I got it with a 6 speed manual. Not fully loaded, but has enough features to make me happy. My wife got heated passenger seat - and that's all she really wanted! I think the reliability will be good if you change the oil at every 5k instead of 10k as it is recommended.

      @@bkraft yes I didn’t wait for the 5k. This truck was the easiest to change oil ever so I did it at 3800.. you might be referring to them not changing the oil filer till 10k .. I change that also very easy to get it out.. as a Subaru sti owner changing oil on these Toyota is effortless.. lol

      @@noxnyc23 I just used my Toyota care early and had it changed at 2600 miles. I’ll be doing it at 7600 myself - need to get the oil and filter to have on standby.

    As you said, I'll show you the sticker, my thought was, I won't pay more than $23 for that. 😂😂😂

    Heard this shifts really slow due to engine tuning, and it sounds like it too. Hanging the revs for emissions. That true?

      It’s doing something that I don’t like. Can’t quite put my finger on it but it is the least enjoyable manual Tacoma I’ve driven so far. I’ve driven both the previous generation with the 3.5 V6 and the one before that with the 4.0 V6 (my favorite by far). This one feels & sounds like a diesel which would be fine if it were a diesel. The low redline and short gears make it feel……odd. I appreciate the fact that a manual still exists for it, but the tuning is way off. The 4.0 V6 with the 6 speed from two generations ago is my go to.

      Yes I drove one and the rev hang makes it not so enjoyable to drive , other than that it’s a ok truck ,

      @noneyabusiness9262 2 месяца назад

      I had a 10 Camry 6 speed. Was just like this one. You get used to it. It’s how you clutch it though. You just barely apply pressure. People normally want to do a full press

  • @CTR_Dan
    @CTR_Dan 3 месяца назад +1

    Is it supposed to rev hang that long?

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  3 месяца назад

      It’s programmed that way unfortunately. Hopefully someone comes out with a plug and play tune to get rid of it. Also the redline is extremely low. The automatic version revs almost 1K revs higher and feels stronger under hard acceleration.

      @@HKN_RealReviewsmy logic is that it uses the transmission from a 2.5L Hilux Diesel engine. Maybe its not designed to spin as fast? Idk

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  20 дней назад

      @@Thirty-OughtSick I would hope that’s not the case because then the question simply becomes “WTF is Toyota actually doing?”

    • @Thirty-OughtSick
      @Thirty-OughtSick 19 дней назад

      @@HKN_RealReviews Using the same parts? The trans behind the 3.5 V6 was its own, and awful. If the trans can go behind a diesel which makes similar numbers and low rpm. Then it should be fine.

    • @Thirty-OughtSick
      @Thirty-OughtSick 19 дней назад

      @@HKN_RealReviews Also, i was mainly mentioning the lower RPM redline than the auto with it being a transmission designed for diesels. Idk tho

  • @Ruprecttt

    Does the manual really have reduced power like it says on Toyota's website?

    • @HKN_RealReviews
      @HKN_RealReviews  3 месяца назад +1

      It definitely feels like it. The auto will smoke it quite severely. Over a second and a half quicker to 60 in my testing. The redline is also significantly lower. The window sticker says the power is still rated the same but it definitely feels slower.

    • @Ruprecttt
      @Ruprecttt 3 месяца назад

      @HKN_RealReviews  3 месяца назад

      @@Ruprecttt yeah I’m not sure why the redline is barely over 5K when the auto is right at 6K. It feels like a diesel. And you’re welcome, thanks for watching!
