    Grew up in saint John New Brunswick, my uncle had a farm in Sussex so I spent a good amount of time in Sussex. Fished on Mary Picher lake, and Hells Gate and St Martin's was a great place for berry picking and corn boils. Miss it ; oh how.

    Hi. Buster here from Kings County Adventures. I eagerly watched your latest video and was happy you noticed my sticker at the Irish River shelter on your way to St. Martins.
    I started my utube channel, Kings County Adventures, a couple of years ago and its been steadily but slowly growing. I live in Hampton, a member of the Sussex ATV Club, AS a youngster back in the 1960's, we would buy old cars and drive what is now the Saint John trail system. Now in my 70's I have fun on the SxS
    I've enjoyed your stuff and have to admit I drew some inspiration from you to start my channel.
    Keep up the great work.
    Buster

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  9 месяцев назад

      Hey Buster ! thanks for leaving me a comment, it's good to hear from ya. Yeah I'm always looking to help support other channels, especially when they are local guys haha
      Yeah it takes a while to get some growth, especially in our field (atv trail rides) it seems the younger generation is more into the mud machines and tearing things up haha
      Oh wow thats funny you got some inspiration from me, that's awesome ! and you dont normally see guys with your "experience" (that's my nice way of saying Age haha) you don't see them making and editing videos, so that's awesome.
      Do you watch Quaddingsous? he's out in Saskatchewan but he also had a good channel.
      Anyway I gave you a Subb back and I cant wait to check out some of your videos, I took a quick look and it seems like we have taken a lot of the same trails so it will be cool to see another perspective. Cheers !

    What great run down to St Martin's. That's Mrs Dowski's stomping grounds there.
    Adair's has been a summer vacation staple since I was just a little kid. This was back when Larry only had a few hunting cabins. We'd stay in one for a few nights and go on adventures with Larry and Ida all over that area. Such good memories.
    Great adventure, brother. Just what the doctor ordered.

    In the summer I wear H/H steel toe rubber boots. I've had them for 4-5 years and they only just got a cut in them a ride or 2 ago (they didn't fail like Dunlop's seem to do at the bottom). They are lightweight and super comfortable I use them for everything around the house too. In the winter I wear either the same boots with thick socks or when it gets really cold I wear my winter boots!

    Sorry I'm late, I was camping this weekend and just got home to watch the video tonight. Great time out with Wendell and lots of riding time! Thanks for the tour with great stops and history, and beautiful drone footage of amazing waterfalls. For boots, I'm wearing Wolverine's now and they are very sturdy for walking over rocks and uneven surfaces while providing support, and even after all day of terrain and miles they still feel like wearing slippers in the comfort department. Wolverine Stock #W10873 with Durashocks sole. Oil and slip resistant, too. Anyway, good to see you out enjoying the day. Nice job with lunch, good thinking bringing leftovers and so easy to reheat and enjoy again. Take care and we'll look for another video again soon. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL

      hey man thanks for posting an unpopular opinion, it's good to have talks like this.I'm always willing to listen to someone who thinks different than I do.
      Where did you read it's not harmful? just a google search?
      They use it for so much stuff like drying of grain and corn, there is a % that is "safe for human consumption" which is a weird thing to say haha and obviously around here they use it in the forestry industry.... if you talk to any hunters and fishermen they will tell you they find low numbers & lots of weird growths on animals like deer and moose, there are less and less fish in the brooks, which it would be hard to prove it's due to spraying that stuff but I can't see it being good. They unfortunately use it at my work to kill the weeds/brush/bushes along the side of the train tracks and 2 days after spraying it, all the green is a dead brown... they tell us it's safe to be around after 24hr's of drying but most people avoid it for as long as they can. thanks again for posting.

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  9 месяцев назад

      yeah man I'm not a an of either of those..... but I also know forestry is a massive industry here, employing lots of people and people have to work.... I would have thought by now they would find something new. I dont know enough about Hemp, but it seems like it can be used for all the same things as trees plus you can grow massive fields of it twice a summer season and all year around in other places. Hemp is naturally rot and fire resistant, super strong, you can mix it into cement to make it stronger also. you can also make paper and clothing with it. Plus over time its biodegradable, you wouldn't need as much machinery to harvest, lighter by weight to haul with trucks to plants/mills for processing...... I dono it just seems like a good idea to me depending on the cost difference. I still think we will need to harvest some trees, but if we could cut down on clear cuts thats a positive thing in my opinion.

    Fyi, there's no law against it fine for stream crossing. The penalties are for cutting trees, moving rocks, or altering the riverbed or the shoreline away from its natural existence. You can safely and legally cross a water body provided you don't intentionally destroy the natural environment existence

    What drone do you use?
    I've never flown a drone are they easy to fly?

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey man ! I have the DJI Mavic Mini 1.0. I have this drone b/c it weighs under 250 grams and in Canada if a drone weighs 250g or under you do not need the drone pilots license to fly it. You're down in Idaho so you can probably have anything you want haha Our Government likes to stick their nose in everyone's business lol
      it's a good little drone, I found it easy to learn to fly, but some people have issues. I do with it had the "follow me" feature so it could record me when I was driving so I didn't have to steer the ATV and the drone at the same time haha

    What off-road app do you use

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey man ! I like Polaris Ride Command. 1) its a FREE app. 2) it shows you managed ATV and Snowmobile trails. 3) It like a GPS and shows you where you are on the trail, even with little or no service (Especially when you "sign in" with an email, seemed to work better after that) 4) unlike Quad NB app which costs money, Polaris Ride Command will show you trails in all the provinces and states.... uad NB only shows the NB trails.
      I have a bunch of other reasons but those are the main ones haha

    • @Maritimer
      @Maritimer  7 месяцев назад +1

      OH and I usually open the app before I leave the house so I can let it all load up on my Wifi, maybe even zoom in on the area you plan to ride just so all the maps, shelters and sights along the way load up. But I haven't had any issue with stuff not loading.
