The funny thing is that although Kempower is Finnish we are just about to get the first Kempower charger installed in Finland. Still so far behind Norway in EV adoption..
12hr15min is not even that bad considering the really bad weather conditions as well as Norway route with lots of road constructions. The I-pace is thirstier than most BEV but last summer with a fully loaded car & 4 people I got consumption of 232 at avg speed of 113km/h - covering 821km in 9hr13min (incl 1hr58m charging) with not optimum charging stops.
Thanks vor That Great test. It seems fast charging is working now on the new MY 21....without emergency lights on 👏👏👏 Go ahead and Merry Christmas for all of you
And here we are. And they are trading at really interesting levels in the U.K. with low miles and good spec. Why you would buy one new is beyond me though
at least you did not experience cold gating - I suppose that you preconditioned the car at home heating the battery and fortunately it did not cool down enough during the run, one of the problem this car has (correct me if I’m wrong) is that it can warm the battery when it does DC fast charging but it cannot do this AND heat up the cabin at the same time - and it only does that when plug-in and stationary
Merry Christmas Bjorn!!! I noticed that this one came with the 20" rims and air suspension. Just wondering what the ride comfort is like with this combination? Thanks
juste read that under pouring rain the consumption can increase by a whopping 20% (according to test done by another channel). Since the car will bow out next year anyway it might not be worth doing a retest. Furthermore as the car lacks the ability to precondition the battery when not plugged, in some other test conditions, like starting in winter with a stone cold battery rather than preconditioned as you do would lead to bad outcomes…
Bit late watching this, Bjorn apologies - but perhaps a simplistic question about efficiency; what is the primary reason for the difference in efficiency across the EV world? Is it primarily the battery, drive system or other electric consumption? Would be good to understand this in a little more detail. Thanks
Interesting remark about the sound system - my 2021 model X does sound considerably better than my 2019 model 3. Prior 2017 model X soundsystem was far worse, though.
@Bjørn Nyland : Hello and thank you for your great videos! One question: do you have an idea why the consuption is so much higher in this 1000 km test than it was in your range test? The conditions should have been almost the same - at least it wasn´t worse in the 1000km-test I think. And can you please tell us how the road profile looks like regarding the hight you drive? How much uphill and downhill is there on your test track? I´m wondering how can your results be transferred to Germany. And yes I hope that it won´t get worse in real life - because right now the I-Pace is the thirstiest car in your list...
Hi! I live in Oslo and am currently hesitating between Jaguar I- pace ev400 and Tesla 3 long range. Since I live in Oslo, like you, you know the situation better than I do... Which car would you recommend? Another question is whether the ev400 is expected to consume less power than the model you tested on this clip? Tnx in advance🤗 and keep whit good job👌👍
Isn’t a average charging Speed more interesting for the customer as the peak charging? Everybody wants a car which is charging faster. But is a higher peak really faster? An average of the charging session would be nice. Thanks for the videos. Merry Christmas.
Is the I-pace a better car than a Model 3? I dont do long trips and have my own charger at home. I value comfort, noise level and space. Which would you choose if price was the same?
Hi Good holiday to you and family. Question on your last charge, your car wasn’t properly parked between the line, was it a cable reach problem or something I have missed?
Nice one Bjørn! What is your next test car Maxus Euniq MPV? Please!! Merry Christmas 🌲❄☃️ to and wife and a happy new year 🎆🎇🎉 Your videos has really care me through the Corona pandemic Creating from Denmark
It's a little strange. I drive EV 320 as well and even her in winter, have a hard time getting over 300 kwh. I always average between 260 and 280kwh. The ONLY difference is that I have smaller tires.
This is not a fixed "true" speed test, but a test of driving 1000 km in the shortest time including charging. The exact speed does then not matter, only the overall driving + charging time. 120 on speedo in 110 zone is also basically guaranteed to not cause any speeding tickets, which are usually more hefty in Norway than Sweden.
I think it is a super nice car but the consumption is just ridiculous. Being as fast as a car like the IONIQ which essentially has 1/3 of the battery capacity tells you how inefficient that beast is. Or also compared to a Model X, which is a tank compared to the iPace.
Hi Bjorn, first of all; respect for you. All those traveling from charger to charger.. But... why are you doing all those tests? Job, hobby, fun, money ? It gives us consumers usefull information but are car manufacturers really do something with this information? . Thanks Paul
Pay for 3-4x the energy per km, instead? Stopping for 20-25 minutes every 300-400 km - as in case of a Long Range Tesla, charged on V3 SuC - is not even that tiresome. And even better battery technologies are coming soon.
@Graham, King of the Britons! Not that bad, I would call it middling. Like, it ended up midfield in the 1000 km challenge. There are numerous other EVs with lower charging speeds and shorter ranges. Those are mainly for city driving, though.
You sir.... are the ultimate hardcore EV tester. Happy holidays!
This is dedication. Respect. Merry Christmas.
Nollaig shona duit (“nullig honnah ditch”/ happy xmas) from Ireland Björn. Looking forward to your videos in 2021 🎄
I'm looking forward to the XC40-recap! Merry Christmas Bjørn.
You machine! Driving all through the night without breaking a sweat.
I agree!! Absolutely amazing!!
It was in fact quite tiresome. But that day before I did the test I had several naps.
@@bjornnyland i drive nights 8pm to 6am in a taxi. It is hard.. particularly after 4am. The last 2 hours hurt!

Thx Bjørn! I loved the trip and your comments! Merry Christmas. And nice attribution to the Fully Charged review of the Xpeng G3!
Thank you for posting Bjørn. Merry Christmas and let's hope for a little more easier travelling for 2021.
Hei Bjørn,
thx for this another great review. Take some time off, don’t forget that people can run out of juice also.
Frohe Weihnachten!
God Jul Björn :)

Merry Christmas and IONIQ 28 FTW ;-)
@20:10. For some reason I got "Session not found" error when going through out that link. It might be only during charging or country locked.
Looking sharp!
It's a common advertisement trick to offer an "overpriced" medium to make you pick large 😊
I wish in germany i will see Kempower Charger in the future too. They are damn cool.
Merry Christmas bro, have a safe day.
300 Wh/km = 480 Wh/mile or 2.1 miles per kWh. That is one thirsty momma!
Cheaper to drive fossil fuel at these prices in Europe
I keep forgetting about the I-Pace due to the cost, but that is one fine looking EV. Maybe in a couple years on the used market.

Such an awesome looking car on the outside, just wish more manufacturers would truly compete with Tesla for infotainment and pure fun

I think you should add one figure, the percentage of travel time spent charging ! that figure would be very interesting

At 1:30am it's tempting to do some speeding with these empty streets :D
Bjorn try doing 1000km in the Uk you see lots cars at 1.30 in the moning norway looks like dream to drive in

Why does it seem that both the left & right front fenders are a slightly different shade of red. Almost looks like they were repainted.

How much do TM3 consume in similar conditions?
You can find all his test results in his google drive link in the description.
About 220 Wh/km

Everything slower than Ioniq 28 kWh is a disgrace! New expensive cars should really be faster than the old cheap Ioniq with small battery.
Bjorn. do you think you can get the Taycan 4S again, so you can do a 1000 km challenge with that car?
Depends on Porsche.

Austrian precision.. I-Pace is produced i Austria..
Pretty close to e-tron in efficiency and time for 1000km
Most expensive car in energy costs after both Ravens.

Not a tesla , range bound box 😵

Battery or hydrogen power? For me, I would choose hydrogen because these long and frequent stops to recharge can become a bit tiresome.

Get a Tesla, e-tron or Taycan. They charge very fast, I have heard.
Hydrogen only has a chance for long distance freight, and it’s still years away from that even happening, if at all.
Havng watched quite a few of Bjorn's videos I have come to the conclusion that electric cars are basically dog shit. Correct?
Never heard of Tesla before? lol
